Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 244: Chapter 243: Questioning the Fertility Ability of the CEO

Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow, surprised that Nia Mitchell would say just about anything when agitated.

AHEM.

Love at first sight, falling deeper on the second, then giving herself away on the third?

Heh, he was mysteriously pleased again.

Silvia Waterborne also hadn’t anticipated this. Moments ago, she was desperately trying to explain the reasons behind her marriage proposal. In the blink of an eye, she was unabashedly confessing her feelings as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Although her son’s expression remained impassive, she sensed a shift in his mood.

”I’m even more curious why you, Maxwell Peary, accepted the proposal. Could it be that you’ve been planning this for a long time?”

Maxwell Peary placed down his coffee cup. Indeed, he had been scheming for quite some time. The moment he saw her at the Police Station, he had wanted to claim her as his own. Otherwise, even if he had saved her on a whim, there would have been no need for him to accompany her to the gala, right?

”Are you done babbling? You’ve seen her. Isn’t it time for you to head back to the Film Set?” Maxwell Peary didn’t appreciate her playing third-wheel and listening to things he didn’t want to hear. He directly asked her to leave.

Silvia Waterborne was instantly displeased. Her youthful face, showing no trace of age, turned cold, and she visibly tensed with anger.

”You’re so heartless, always trying to drive me away.”

Silvia Waterborne shot Maxwell Peary a scornful glance before checking her wristwatch.

She indeed needed to get going; she had been incredibly busy these past few days.

”Nia, if he upsets you in the future, just come to me. I’ll support you.”

Silvia Waterborne smiled as she spoke. After finishing, she opened her bag and pulled out a box, handing it to Nia.

”This is our family’s heirloom bracelet. I’ve been waiting for the day I could pass this to my daughter-in-law.”

Silvia’s words, calling it a family heirloom, left Nia feeling she had no choice but to accept it.

Nia Mitchell looked at the box in her hand. It felt as if she were holding an immense weight, a burden she couldn’t possibly bear.

”Mom, I can’t accept this.”

”Sweetheart, this is meant to be passed down from generation to generation. It’s for you to give to your own daughter or daughter-in-law.”

Nia Mitchell’s eyes welled up. To be passed to her daughter or daughter-in-law? Uncle Peary has a sister, yet Silvia Waterborne hadn’t given this bracelet to Evelyn Peary—Maxwell’s own sister—but had chosen to give it to me instead. How could I possibly accept this?

”Accept what Mom gave you. Consider it her welcoming gift,” Maxwell Peary said, noticing Nia Mitchell’s troubled expression.

Nia Mitchell nodded, knowing she could no longer refuse.

”I have to head to the Film Set now. Why don’t you visit sometime?” Silvia Waterborne shifted the topic and stood up as she spoke.

Nia Mitchell immediately got up as well, promising without hesitation.

Nia accompanied Silvia Waterborne to the door, with Maxwell Peary following close behind her.

”Alright, don’t see me out any further. My car is just outside.” Silvia Waterborne gestured towards a vehicle not too far away. From a distance, they could see several people in the car—clearly, everyone was waiting for her.

”Oh yes, I almost forgot the most important thing.”

Just as Silvia Waterborne was about to leave, she suddenly slapped her forehead and spun around to face Maxwell Peary.

”Maxwell Peary, now that you’re married, you should have a child soon. Look, you’ll be thirty next year. People your age usually have children in elementary school.”

The tips of Nia Mitchell’s ears turned red with embarrassment. She hadn’t expected the ’important matter’ Silvia Waterborne mentioned to be about urging them to have children!

Maxwell Peary maintained his emotionless face and nodded at Silvia Waterborne’s words.

”We have a plan. We’ll start in a couple of years.”

”A couple of years? You’re not getting any younger! It’s best to have children while you’re young. It’s not like having a baby happens overnight—you might not even conceive within a year...”

”Mom!”
