Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 228: Chapter 227: Someone Dares to Snatch the Rabbit Raised by Young Master Peary

Nia Mitchell stared with wide eyes, her teeth gritted, clearly in the mood to rip Benjamin Jones apart.

A knowing smile spread across Benjamin Jones’s face as he gently released his grip.

”Don’t be angry, Miss. You’re not as lovely when you’re angry.”

Nia Mitchell rolled her eyes at Benjamin Jones, rubbing the red marks on her hand before turning to leave.

How could Benjamin Jones let her go so easily? He quickened his pace, darting ahead to block her path.

”Miss, you still haven’t told me your name.”

”Her name is Nia Mitchell.”

Following the CEO’s gaze, Phoebe Walker saw Nia Mitchell.

It seems fate has a twisted sense of humor, seeing Nia Mitchell caught up like this, Phoebe thought. Or perhaps, this Benjamin Jones is the prize Nia Mitchell came for today. Either way, I should give her a hand.

Phoebe Walker rushed over, helping Benjamin Jones block Nia Mitchell’s way.

Benjamin Jones was momentarily stunned, then turned his attention to Phoebe Walker.

I don’t know why this Phoebe Walker is helping me, he mused, but since she told me this young lady’s name, it’s definitely to my advantage.

”So your name is Nia Mitchell, huh? A fine name, truly a fine name.”

Benjamin Jones stepped forward, intending to take her hand again.

Nia Mitchell deftly sidestepped him, her brow furrowed in annoyance.

”Phoebe Walker, what do you think you’re doing?”

Phoebe Walker feigned innocence. Did I do anything wrong?

”Isn’t this why you came today? I was just giving you a hand. Or do you prefer playing hard-to-get?”

Phoebe Walker chuckled, looking at Nia Mitchell.

”This is ridiculous.”

Seeing Nia Mitchell about to turn and leave, Phoebe Walker quickly moved to block her path again. ”Don’t go! Master Jones here is the future heir of the Jones Corporation. If you can get with him, you’ll be set for life.”

Phoebe Walker smirked triumphantly at Nia Mitchell. After she spoke, Benjamin Jones also nodded vigorously.

”Exactly, Miss Mitchell! I promise, if you stick with me, I’ll make sure you live in luxury.”

”Really?”

Nia Mitchell was about to retort when a man’s voice came from behind her.

Those two words, dripping with menace, sounded like a venomous snake flicking its forked tongue. The three people present felt like prey targeted by this venomous creature.

But why did that voice sound so familiar? Nia Mitchell wondered.

She turned stiffly, a wry smile on her face.

Oh no, oh no! Why is the CEO here? When did he get here? Did he see what just happened?

”Y-yes... yes,” Benjamin Jones stammered. He certainly recognized the man before him: the renowned Young Master Peary of Capital Town. Even Phoebe Walker’s father, Liam Walker, had been incredibly deferential when greeting him earlier.

What on earth did he mean by asking that? Benjamin Jones wondered. With things so unclear, telling the truth seems like the only way.

However, Benjamin Jones’s answer was not one that would please Maxwell Peary.

Nia Mitchell swallowed hard, forcing a smile. ”M-Maxwell... what a coincidence.”

She glanced around awkwardly. Maxwell Peary was like a magnet for attention; wherever he went, he became the focal point. Consequently, many eyes were now on them.

”Yes, a coincidence indeed,” Maxwell Peary said, his lips curling into a smirk. He gave Nia Mitchell a meaningful look, uttering each word through gritted teeth.

Nia Mitchell flinched, her neck seeming to shrink. If only I could turn invisible right now! she thought desperately.
