Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 211: Chapter 210: Can’t Help but Want to Deal with Her (Extra Update)

Alan Morgan tapped at the pink box in his hand.

”Aren’t you attending the banquet tomorrow? The CEO asked me to get an evening gown tailored for you, so I’ve brought it to you today.”

He was a bit late because he had discussed something with Shirley Grant after work. He had originally intended to deliver it before dark.

Nia Mitchell stepped aside to let him in, feeling a touch of warmth in her heart.

”Sister-in-law, where’s the CEO?”

Only when Alan entered the Living Room did he realize that the large space was empty. Nia had come to the door so quickly, which meant she must have been in the Living Room just moments before. How rare. His sister-in-law is in the Living Room, yet the Boss isn’t here fawning over her, he thought.

”He’s in the study. If you need anything, go find him there,” Nia said.

After saying this, Nia Mitchell sat cross-legged on the sofa again, pouting.

Alan Morgan raised an eyebrow. Oh? Have they quarreled?

”Sister-in-law, you should go try on the evening gown. If any part doesn’t fit well, I can take it back for alterations.”

Alan Morgan placed the box on the coffee table and then headed upstairs to the study to find Maxwell Peary.

Nia Mitchell looked at the pink box, and after a moment’s thought, she picked it up and went to try on the gown.

Ten minutes later, Nia Mitchell knocked on the study door. The two men inside simultaneously looked towards the entrance.

”Come in.”

Maxwell Peary’s cold voice came through the door panel. Nia Mitchell took a deep breath, smoothed down the evening gown she was wearing, and walked in.

”Uncle, do you think this gown looks nice?”

She looked at Maxwell Peary, flustered. The white gown clung to her skin, outlining her alluring curves.

A wave of heat washed over Maxwell Peary. He had always known that while Rabina Mitchell was young, she was remarkably well-developed. Although he preferred her without clothes, he still adored the sight of her dressed up so elegantly.

”You can leave!” Maxwell Peary ordered Alan.

Alan Morgan received his dismissal and quickly turned to leave. Heavens, it’s not like I wanted to stay there either!

The study door closed again, and Nia Mitchell felt even more flustered.

”Come here,” Maxwell said.

He had quit smoking long ago, so the smell of cigarettes in the study had mostly faded. After a few minutes in the room, it was barely noticeable.

”Oh.” Nia Mitchell walked over. She wasn’t used to wearing such a shoulder-baring gown and felt a little self-conscious.

”The dress suits you well,” he murmured, fighting the urge to take her right there and then. But he knew this wasn’t the right time.

”Really? Then I’ll wear this tomorrow night.” She widened her sparkling eyes, a faint blush still warming her cheeks.

”Mm, add a shawl. Even though it’s almost summer, the evenings can still be a bit chilly.”

Nia Mitchell nodded. Although she wanted to say it wouldn’t be cold in the Banquet Hall, she thought better of it and kept her mouth shut.

”Alright, you can go rest for now. I still have work to do.”

After Maxwell Peary finished speaking, his gaze shifted from her, and he opened the laptop on his desk.

Nia Mitchell looked as if she wanted to say something but hesitated, ultimately leaving the study.

Maxwell Peary sighed and resumed his work. By the time Mom comes over on Sunday, we’ll naturally be back to how we were, he thought. Right now, even if I talked myself blue in the face, I wouldn’t be able to convince Nia.

He mulled it over and then threw himself back into his work. If I pull an all-nighter tonight, I might be able to accompany her to the banquet tomorrow, he mused.

At this thought, Maxwell Peary felt a fresh surge of determination, ready to burn the midnight oil.

His unspoken intentions, however, were tormenting Nia Mitchell.
