Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1490: Chapter 52: The Great Retreat Spanning Several Light Years [Requesting Official Subscription]

The combat power of the avatar can barely defeat two or three ordinary secondary-level opponents.

But if the opponent is replaced by a semi-permanent star level existence, even an ordinary one, the chances are grim.

Originally, his true body had fought against a semi-permanent star level, so he naturally understood the difference in strength.

But the recent intel reported that somehow, a semi-permanent star level had managed to pass through the barrier and enter inside the Orion Arm!

”It’s not feasible; I can’t stop them, and this avatar cannot die either.”

Jia Yan’s eyes flickered sharply.

Next, he looked at the place revealed by the opponent’s intel, a direction in the far distant region, reaching over a billion kilometers away.

If he rushed over, he would make it in time, but going there would be useless.

No matter how weak an external semi-permanent star level might be, his avatar currently cannot possibly defeat it.

”Connect me to Commanding Star of the defense line, it’s important intel.”

Jia Yan opened the communication channel, and then spoke in a deep and mellow tone.

Shortly after, within just a dozen minutes, an order almost unbelievable to the entire Kawai Defense Line was received.

”Retreat... retreat?! Why? We’ve defended for so long, Mister Jia Yan has killed so many strong ones.”

”Don’t retreat! We can hold it, and if we retreat now, what will the deaths of our brothers mean?”

”If we retreat, external beings can enter, and peace will be lost inside the Orion Arm forever. We must not retreat.”

The entire defense line, numbering in the billions of various civilization organisms, was shocked by the order, causing chaos with those disobeying orders and others screaming madly.

It must be known that the Kawai Defense Line, since beginning preparation decades ago, had condensed the dedication of countless civilizations and beings. Just speaking of the billions of organisms here, each is an outstanding individual of their respective civilization, supported by immense power from each civilization.

Now retreating, signifies the fall of Kawai Defense Line, nullifying past efforts and sacrifices, not to mention the unpredictable future for the Orion Arm.

”Retreat, this is the joint order from Mister Jia Yan and the high command of the defense line.”

”Brothers, we at Commanding Star also don’t wish to retreat, but we have no choice, the situation is not in our favor. Without retreating, the entire defense line will face destruction, retreat.”

The entire defense line was blanketed with a feeling of mourning, greater than death.

”Why would Lord Jia Yan issue such an order, someone so brave, choosing to abandon the defense line voluntarily, could it be he...”

”Shut up! Matters concerning the Lord aren’t for you to speculate. I support the Lord. I’ve also noticed that the enemy’s attack recently has been different than usual.”

”Move, move, move, any more delays and it will be too late.”

The Kawai Defense Line is constructed from countless interstellar materials, although its mobility doesn’t compare to battleships, each base has its own propulsion system, now starting to retreat slowly, each accelerating gradually. Within a few hours, the speed will reach an extremely fast level.

”Retreat.”

In the starry sky above, the high command of the Kawai Defense Line watched absent-mindedly at the massive evacuation scene of countless bases and battleships.

Among these bases, powerful enemy biological entities caught up with some, causing constant explosions in the cosmos, yet no rescuing action from any base occurred.

”It was time to retreat. We initially wanted to suggest to the Lords to retreat, but now, Lord Jia Yan spoke first, retreating is better.”

The high command of the Kawai Defense Line were stunned, watching the entire massive retreat, or say collapse, of the defense line, each losing the ability to speak.

They had wanted to suggest this earlier because they had previously sensed through detection systems that strange energy was emerging in areas attacked by the opposing forces. This energy caused future enemies not to fear the pressure inside the Orion Arm. Under such circumstances, the destruction of soldiers from the Kawai Defense Line by powerful enemies was only a matter of time.

It was unexpected that Jia Yan proposed the retreat.

Above the starry sky, a small glimmer similarly retreated.

However, this glimmer was not a chaotic large-scale escape, instead staying behind certain battleships.

”Haha, this fleet is full of rookies, wipe them out for me.”

An external dignitary chased several isolated battleships into this stretch of the starry sky. Seeing the fleet ahead stumbling, unable to increase retreat speed, judging that they had no combat power, he laughed bloodthirstily.

Fearless of the fleet numbering thousands, he charged at them with madness.

If he could hold them off for some time, the external invaders behind him would catch up and easily swallow this huge fleet. His achievement would be significant.

But this creature’s good calculation was thwarted, having no idea a killing god awaited outside this fleet.

Puff!

As soon as the dignitary approached, a surge of Brainwave Power appeared behind his single-person battleship.

He was utterly unable to react, his body convulsed suddenly, leading to instant death.

And in the darkness, the faint glimmer flashed again, disappearing into the shadows.

This small glimmer turned out to be a ship only a few dozen meters in size.

Inside the space cabin, Jia Yan seemed utterly indifferent to the previous slaughter. He merely watched the entire field of vision, vast areas of collapse, followed by the relentless pursuit by the enemy of the Kawai Defense Line bases and fleets.

”Was the order I gave truly the right one?”

Jia Yan was somewhat perplexed.

He hadn’t even confirmed if the opponent truly had a Semi-permanent Star Level presence that would raid through the barrier.

But he was sure that the opponent definitely had barrier machines. Now, near the barrier, it was already filled with the feeling of the external starry sky. As someone whose true body lived outside, he was very certain of this point.

”So my order to retreat wasn’t wrong. At least this way, it prevented the enemy from massively entering, which would’ve led to the complete annihilation of the Kawai Defense Line, right?”

Jia Yan shook his head, then stopped worrying about other bases or fleets, instead following behind the front fleet. If any external strong creature or ship tried to approach, he would strike them with a Brainwave Power.

The fleet at the front was naturally the makeshift ’Earth Fleet’ fleeing in panic, which still had Jia Qi, his little niece whom Jia Yan cared about.

”What’s going on? Aren’t we in the rear? Why do we still have to retreat now? There’s even an enemy nearby us.”

The Earth Fleet was almost in complete chaos.

”The Kawai Defense Line is finished! Full retreat, quick, quick, quick! Our fleet is of uneven quality, and our training is insufficient. If we don’t retreat, the rear will become the front, and the enemy will attack us completely.”

Almost everywhere in the fleet echoed with exclamations and confusion.

Inside the flagship, Jia Qi was different. He looked at several high-ranking figures inside the battleship, inquiring about something.

”How’s my uncle’s safety? With him here, how could we have to retreat? He can’t be in any danger, right?”

Jia Qi was extremely worried.

”No need to worry. This retreat order was issued by Lord Jia Yan. We also don’t know where the Lord is now. Anyway, the Lord is very powerful and will be alright. Our primary task is to retreat.”

The flagship captain responded to Jia Qi helplessly.

Jia Qi, having some basic understanding of battleship command, knew from the other party’s words that he too was unaware of Jia Yan’s situation and sensibly ceased further questioning.

Then she went to the bridge, looking at the grand scene of the mass retreat outside.

What kind of sight is it when the entire starry sky, spanning several light-years, with billions of creatures, millions of battleships, and ten thousand star bases, all retreat?

The mass retreat spanning several light-years was such a grand spectacle that any Earth people who saw it would feel a sense of awe, and even the Imperial person themselves would be very shocked.

Within the span of a few light-years, there were bright lights everywhere, battleship lights, battle lights, weapon system lights, and more.

External creatures, who appeared more and more frequently, tore open massive breaches at the far-off barrier, and not just strong creatures, but also battleships, weapon systems, and even basic supplies began to be transported inside the barrier.

This large-scale retreat was extremely timely; otherwise, if they stayed to fight to the death where the enemy could massively enter, probably not as many creatures of the billions on the Kawai Defense Line would have survived as now.

”Miss Jia Qi, I’m sorry to have let you endure such dangers again.”

The Fifth Prince of the Great Empire approached Jia Qi not far away with a wry smile.

”This order was given by my uncle; there’s no need for you to apologize to me.”

Jia Qi shook her head, clear on who was right or wrong.

After experiencing days of warfare, she seemed to have grown up in an instant.

”Alas, frankly, it’s still because my Great Empire is useless. Unable to aid Mister Jia Yan, during these days, the Lord fought alone and performed admirably, but the outcome is still this.”

The Fifth Prince smiled bitterly as he came to the bridge, gazing at the starry sky outside with Jia Qi.

In the starry sky, a base the size of the Moon was overtaken by three Secondary Powerhouses and about thirty to forty Dignitaries.

After resisting for some time, the entire base finally chose to sacrifice itself, exploding mightily.

Two of the Secondary Powerhouses flew out from the explosion, but they were also severely injured, and the other one was lost forever in the explosive place.

The Dignitaries faced severe losses, most being unable to escape the exploding base.

”The Kawai Defense Line has done well. On behalf of Earth’s civilization, I thank your defense line for its contribution to the Orion Arm.” Jia Qi saw that scene and spoke sincerely.

The Fifth Prince closed his eyes.

Scenes similar to that of the base were happening all over the starry sky, and he couldn’t bear to watch.

”What’s the point of doing well if it didn’t stop them? Without the barrier’s protection next, our Orion Arm is at their mercy. They only need to devour the starry sky step by step, and eventually, the civilizations within the Orion Arm will be completely extinguished.” The Fifth Prince smiled bitterly.

”Alas.”

In the space cabin following the Earth Fleet, Jia Yan also let out a long sigh.

But compared to the Fifth Prince’s pessimism, Jia Yan had not lost hope.

”True body...”
