Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1456: Chapter 18: Growing Stronger and Stronger [Requesting Genuine Subscription]

”How could this happen? I’ve just left the defense line for a while, and now two spots have breached... This is not good at all.”

Jia Yan’s expression showed a hint of anxiety.

The spacecraft, moving at incredible speed, was heading towards a certain point in the dark universe.

Earlier, Jia Yan was still in discussions with the high echelons of several Great Imperial Fleets, but unexpectedly, he received an urgent communication from the Great Empire’s Kawai Defense Line.

”Lord Jia Yan, the defense line is urgently requesting assistance. Two spots have breached, urgent!”

The communication contained only this line, as if there wasn’t even time to send more words.

Jia Yan didn’t say much to those high-ranking officials he was meeting with; he apologized briefly and swiftly drove the spacecraft away from Earth.

In the Starry Sky, Jia Yan’s demeanor slightly calmed down, yet he still shook his head.

”Now, I’m too far from the defense line; distant water cannot quench nearby fire. If they really can’t hold it, there’s nothing that can be done.”

Jia Yan is rushing there now, but even at top speed, the spacecraft will take more than half a month.

He had already adjusted the spacecraft to its maximum speed, yet it still would take over ten days, given this was more than a hundred light-years away.

”Forget it. If I do go there and the barrier really encounters some accident, then I’ll have to think of another solution, such as moving all Earth people from the Orion Arm... However, this kind of thing wouldn’t just take a few years or decades. It might end up with me, this avatar, having to protect all humans during the evacuation, until a suitable residence is found.”

”Unless absolutely necessary, it’s best not to use this method. Too many unexpected risks.”

Jia Yan traveled swiftly, nearing the location of the defense line.

Meanwhile, during this time, Jia Yan refocused his thoughts back to his true body.

”Lord Jia Yan, you’re back.”

Coincidentally, returning to his true body coincided with his arrival at the Ting Tian Pavilion.

Xi Bala seemed to have perfectly calculated his return and was waiting outside the star body early.

Seeing this thin female alien, even though Jia Yan wasn’t in a good mood, he couldn’t help but show her a slight smile.

”Hello Xi Bala, long time no see.”

”My Lord, I’m not doing well. The things you gave me are really hard to research. I had to call a few good friends to help, to barely make some progress.”

Xi Bala vented her grievances to Jia Yan.

Jia Yan consoled her with a few words and hurriedly inquired about her progress.

”There’s some general direction, but there might still be issues in creating the actual device. If you’re willing to take risks, we can start immediately.” Xi Bala didn’t understand why Jia Yan was so eager to develop that ”super long-range launch” device.

Actually, she wasn’t unaware of this device’s advantages and disadvantages. She had thought about similar things long ago, but practically, such devices weren’t very useful because while transmitting small items safely, they were too few and served little purpose over long distances.

If one were to transmit a large object, the pressure during flight would be too great, and the object might break into pieces.

She’s worried now that Jia Yan might want to transmit himself, which seemed too dangerous.

”Regarding the risks, I have already studied the materials you showed me before. I really need it urgently now, and this pressure, I think I can bear. You can start working now.”

Jia Yan thought for a moment but decided to tell her.

He didn’t want to bear any risks either, but the war situation on the Orion Arm was too urgent. If it really came down to it, his true body could only rush there.

Though, after going over, he’d still have to figure out how to return to the Genius Battlefield. The cultivation environment here was too good; he hoped to achieve a Stellar level here. However, returning thousands of light-years away later would be troublesome.

But that’s something to worry about later.

”Alright, my Lord, I see your body seems unique, and maybe you won’t feel the pressure; I won’t rule it out. Let me go rush the work then.”

Xi Bala didn’t even bother to introduce several friends to Jia Yan and quickly returned to the Spirit Listening Pavilion Star Body to proceed with her research.

Although she valued money highly, she was willing to help with her friends’ matters, and now she somewhat understood that Jia Yan’s strength and means seemed to surpass her imagination.

Originally, she just regarded Jia Yan as an iconic figure, not placing much importance on his actual strength.

But earlier, she heard that Jia Yan, in front of her father, could calmly escape and even single-handedly threaten her Liqiao Force, which had already surprised her.

Upon arriving at the Ting Tian Pavilion, she was truly shocked. The entire Dark Realm is abuzz with talk that the famous ”Mo Ke,” under whose guise Lord Jia Yan operates, is someone whom every force in the realm highly fears.

And his combat record, which made Xi Bala nearly faint, includes single-handedly annihilating the entire Doom Squad Power, with a member possessing a high-level semi-permanent star registry—a level akin to her father’s. No wonder Jia Yan does not fear her father.

With this, she works hard to cultivate goodwill with the Liqiao Force, hoping that Jia Yan might be willing to assist in the future.

Jia Yan saw how much Xi Bala cared about his affairs and felt increasingly satisfied with this alien female creature; he truly made no mistake in befriending her.

Past friendships initially had some friction, leading Jia Yan to feel he had no particularly good friends now. But Xi Bala was different; he felt comfortable with her, and if Xi Bala needed help from Jia Yan in the future, he would not refuse.

Meanwhile, his avatar hadn’t arrived quickly; Jia Yan returned to the stone house within the central power of Ting Tian Pavilion.

In this Dark Realm, he is already highly renowned. During the previous Dark Realm battle, some forces tried to blame Jia Yan, but no one dared to directly confront Ting Tian Pavilion. It is known that Jia Yan’s strength brought the Doom Squad Power to near extinction.

The Doom Squad’s headquarters star body has already changed hands, and scattered fleets and strong ones either died in battle or changed names and became part of other forces, effectively dispersing.

Though major forces’ strong ones caused all this, everyone attributed this ’achievement’ to Jia Yan.

Those who feared him became more afraid, while those who worshipped him grew more fervent in their adoration.

At least now, no force dares to openly antagonize or insult those from Ting Tian Pavilion. So, when Ting Tian Pavilion members go out recently, they are prideful, and even though they’re only of secondary level, they don’t fear facing an intermediate talent of semi-permanent star level.

”Lord, these are the materials recently sent. I deducted the portion you said was for our share, leaving the rest untouched. I reserved it for you.”

In the stone house, the secondary-level subordinate tasked by Jia Yan with Ting Tian Pavilion affairs reported respectfully.

”Very good. Indeed, you’re remarkable.” Jia Yan was pleased. Of course, to become secondary level and reach the genius field, any creature can excel at similar tasks; otherwise, they wouldn’t be considered geniuses.

”Thank you, Lord, for your praise.” The other replied joyfully.

After a few compliments, Jia Yan dismissed him.

With a pile of materials, Jia Yan selected some energy materials, secreted condensation fluid, and absorbed a portion.

This absorption is done by surface cells. Besides brainwave power, his cellular absorption gradually increased energy intake, making him stronger even though brainwave power could not grow.

”Ah, Master, you can use cells to absorb strength; what a fearsome talent.”

While Jia Yan absorbed energy, the tiny shadow mosquito jumped out of his body.

Like Senior Light and Shadow before, Adisa could materialize her body and remain by Jia Yan’s side, though this posed great danger, with death a constant possibility.

However, Jia Yan didn’t have to care for Adisa as with Senior Light and Shadow anymore; now it was Jia Yan’s turn to care for her. As long as he was around, he wouldn’t let her get hurt nor need to sacrifice herself, as Senior Light and Shadow had.

”Hehe, I only discovered this recently; take a look. If I use this strength alongside brainwave power to impact the stellar-level threshold, will it advance my promotion time considerably?”

Jia Yan looked over, absorbing energy from in-game liquid accumulation while he asked.

”Hmm, let Adisa think carefully.”

After thinking for a long time, she responded uncertainly, ”Master, I also don’t know. You follow the cultivation method left by the previous master senior. That approach offers chances to breach into stellar level at honored level, but also carries failure risks. Logically, additional power sources aid in breakthrough likelihood, but I cannot guarantee outcomes. Master should be cautious.”

”Hmm, I understand.”

Jia Yan knew her response would be like this. Being an artificial intelligence assistant, it always advises the most conservative approach; despite seeming human, it’s just a machine.

Nonetheless, Jia Yan did not truly regard her as a machine; on some level, she retained traces of a wise being.

Overall, the evolutionary creature’s cellular energy opened a new world for Jia Yan.

Originally, he and Adisa assessed that he wished to evolve directly from honored to stellar but, beforehand, his highest ability was limited to triumphing over top geniuses of respected level within the genius battlefield while remaining a gap from secondary level high talents.

Yet now, with battle armor and increasing strength, soon, aided by cellular power level akin to star space level strength, his ability would merge. So, even without battle armor, he might combat a secondary level high genius.

Combined with battle armor and two black holes...

”As I’ve mentioned before, my current combat power might possibly be unrivaled within the genius battlefield; it’s not unfounded. Given a chance, I could challenge the genius stars in the central star area, just not sure if gear like mine qualifies for enrollment.”
