Chapter 889: Chapter 35: The Collection Quota Conference Officially Begins! [Subscribe Please]_3

Colorful balls soared into the air, and cannons resounded through heaven and earth.

The audience stood up, while the players silently prayed for victory.

Jia Yan felt that this quota conference was somewhat similar to the sports meets on Earth. Of course, compared to those on Earth, the scale was unimaginably grander. Moreover, it boasted many powerful Strong Ones, each capable of annihilating Earth multiple times over.

After the competition started, Jia Yan learned the number assigned to his team from Angel Camp.

It was fifty-seven.

”Team fifty-seven, team one hundred twenty-one, come to the field.”

The competition had just started not long ago, and Jia Yan had thought it wouldn’t be their turn so soon. To his surprise, the first match was his Angel Camp against team one hundred twenty-one! He was somewhat astonished.

”Don’t be surprised, it’s probably just the organizer’s arrangement,” the Four-eyed Monster said somewhat helplessly.

In fact, he had already noticed that the Da Tan people had developed an unfavorable impression of their Angel Camp. Now they naturally wanted to use their power to impose certain restrictions or unfavorable battle arrangements on them.

”Let’s go. We can’t avoid this, but we are those with initial quotas. The victory or defeat of the first round isn’t too crucial. As long as we win two out of ten matches, we can advance using the advantage of our initial quota.”

The pink monster also felt helpless to the extreme. Originally, they didn’t harbor much hope for this year.

Previously, the addition of Jia Yan, who was at the Cosmic level, had given them a glimmer of hope. However, when he surprisingly didn’t offer any help at all, he ended up making the entire Da Tan clan hostile towards their Angel Camp. They were helpless and unsure whether inviting this Strong One was a blessing or a curse.

”The official matches consist of five rounds; we currently have exactly five Cosmic levels. Let’s just go down and fight. If we had the strength, the first Strong One could knock out all five opponents by himself. But, obviously, we don’t have that strength.”

The Scaled Creature explained the rules to Jia Yan, although she knew he had surely understood them already. Nevertheless, she still made conversation by explaining it to him.

”Alright, I understand,” Jia Yan said, not showing any impatience and listening attentively again.

The Angel Camp, all at the Cosmic level, took to the field.

The opposing team also entered the arena at that moment.

”Huh?” Jia Yan was momentarily taken aback upon seeing the members of the opposing team.

Among these opponents was one who looked familiar.

On reflection, it was the Cosmic level monster who had previously told Jia Yan he would crush him!

Clearly, the opponent had not expected to actually encounter Jia Yan, especially not in the first match of the tournament.

However, soon, the creature was grinning.

”The opposing team is a moderately sized force, among them, there’s even one nearly reaching the Mid-galaxy level. I think we should give up this match!”

The Four-eyed Monster spoke.

”That’s fine. We only have five Cosmic levels. If we waste too much energy here or someone gets injured, the upcoming battles will be exhausting. Giving up is a wise choice,” the pink monster concurred.

”I agree as well,” the Scaled Creature replied.

The other Cosmic level from Angel Camp seemed never to speak, but from his expression, everyone knew he agreed as well.

However, Jia Yan did not express his opinion.

He now knew that in this tournament, Angel Camp had readjusted their strategy after his fight with the Dragon Strong. They aimed to hold onto their quotas as much as possible and avoid injuries if they couldn’t.

But Jia Yan couldn’t accept that; he wanted to enter that mining site by all means!

”Since you all have given up, I don’t mind either. However, it seems there is one guy who wants to fight me. I will just avoid him and be the last to go on. I hope I don’t encounter him,” Jia Yan suddenly spoke up during the discussion.

”Uh...” The Four-eyed Monster was taken aback.

Normally, it was a taboo for a foreign aid to comment on the team’s arrangements. It was best to avoid giving any opinion.

But since they were planning to give up anyway, and Jia Yan might not be any less capable than any of them, there was no need to offend anyone over such a trivial matter.

”Alright, then Jia Yan you will be the last to go. We will go first. But everyone be careful, just make a token resistance and then give up. Don’t waste too much energy. The first one up isn’t the one hostile towards Jia Yan, let him win on his own. Otherwise, that belligerent guy might cause unnecessary complications,” the Four-eyed Monster said, thinking of Jia Yan, who dared to challenge even the Dragon Strong. If he acted recklessly and fought these strong opponents, he couldn’t win and would waste too much energy here, which would be rather imprudent.

”Go!”

After discussing, the Strong Ones from Jia Yan’s side proceeded towards the stage.

The strong members of the opposing force also got in position to go on stage.

However, they laughed upon seeing the lineup from Jia Yan’s side.

Because these Strong Ones knew that the Angel Camp was definitely giving up the match.

If they had even a little desire to resist, they would have cared more about their lineup; the current arrangement seemed utterly chaotic, if not outright surrender, what else could it be?

”I initially thought a force that dares to confront the Dragon Strong would have greater ambition, but now it seems they are merely jumping fleas after all. Absolutely insignificant!”

The opposing team’s leader saw the formation of Angel Camp and couldn’t help but chuckle in disbelief.

He had even considered them a worthy opponent and had made proper preparations.

”It’s normal for Angel Camp to act this way; their strength is indeed weaker than ours, and their entire team has only five Cosmic levels. If they fought us, not only would they not win, but they would also suffer casualties. Without the five Cosmic levels, only the Sky Levels would remain, and that scenario would be quite unsightly.”
