Jia Yan took a step forward, barely touching the ground when he noticed some hostile yet fearful gazes.

His divine eyes gleamed subtly as he looked toward the source of the malice. As his gaze swept over, the monsters there hurriedly withdrew their eyes, as if afraid to meet Jia Yan’s gaze.

Jia Yan was quite pleased with the attitude of these monsters.

However, he didn’t leave immediately because he observed that the ground he landed on wasn’t a docking area but a small platform-like locale, which even allowed these monsters to watch the spacecraft descending from the sky. Some, seeing that newcomers weren’t very strong, would run over in a competitive manner.

He felt that this place was slightly different from what he had imagined, but the more chaotic it was, the better it suited him, so perhaps this was good news after all.

Jia Yan walked towards these monsters.

The monsters, one by one, became nervous as they saw Jia Yan approaching, after all, he could be at the Sky-level peak or even the Star Space Level. How could they face him directly when the strongest among them was merely at Earth Level Peak?!

”You don’t need to be nervous, I am a star traveler who has just arrived here, and I have some questions for you,” Jia Yan said in the most amiable tone possible.

The term star traveler, which Jia Yan had learned in the last six months, seemed to have been coined because of the easier travel and technology. It referred to a being who roamed the starry sky just for interest.

Such beings were very familiar with the starry skies, but there were always some areas different from others, making them the biggest ’why’ in the starry sky. They were generally very strong and tended to ask questions everywhere, hence they were often troublemakers in the starry sky.

Upon hearing about Jia Yan’s profession, the monsters inwardly lamented as they had encountered such beings before. A conversation with them could drag on for a long time, and the questions asked were so sensitive that the monsters often couldn’t answer.

”Lord, please ask what you wish to know, we will tell you everything we can,” replied one creature, about three meters tall and of the Earth Level Mid-term strength, reluctantly.

”Why does this place look like this, somewhat chaotic? And who are the strongest beings here, and what is the distribution of power?” Jia Yan looked at the monsters and fired off a series of questions.

Not long after that, Jia Yan left the group of monsters.

He looked quite puzzled.

From the previous conversation, he learned that this small temporary star dwelling point was indeed as complicated as Jia Yan had observed.

This place was where several forces intersected. Since they all refused to occupy a spot that would be the first to suffer if any friction occurred, it was instead dominated by several beings claiming to be ’space mercenaries.’

And these ’space mercenaries’ seemed to be of Star Space Level; hence the major powers tacitly allowed them to thrive here and even turned a blind eye to the chaos of this place.

After all, Star Space Level beings were not to be trifled with. For these major powers, attempting to take on these space mercenaries was a daunting challenge, lest their attempts fail and give their rivals an opportunity.

As for these so-called space mercenaries, they had no intention to rule here long-term, and through a series of misguided strategies, though they amassed a fortune, this temporary star dwelling point had become a lawless land.

Jia Yan walked, pondering.

”These so-called space mercenaries, are they the same people as the space mercenaries on Tianlong Star? But usually not, given that the distances are quite vast, so does this mean that space mercenaries are part of a vast organization?”

After contemplating for quite a while, Jia Yan returned to his spacecraft.

In this temporary star dwelling point, even though there were no laws or bindings, there were still some superficial arrangements in place; at least Jia Yan had paid a docking fee, which somewhat ensured the safety of his spacecraft.

Jia Yan left the place and then walked towards other parts of the dwelling point.

This was an area of about twenty kilometers, not very large, but it was properly developed with tall buildings, and there seemed to be some permanent residents.

As Jia Yan moved around this small area, he noticed that strong beings were quite common; Sky Level was frequently seen, and there even appeared to be some Peak Heavenly Existences walking around.

Do not underestimate Peak Heavenly Existence; even in this part of the starry sky, they were regarded as skilled. In Tianlong Star, a Peak Heavenly Existence could take on the role of a lord of a territory.

However, here, these Peak Heavenly Existences merely walked around like ordinary Strong Ones on the ground.

”It truly is a more prosperous place, with strong beings gathering here, making the status of strong beings different,” Jia Yan remarked.

However, he also knew that strong beings would not gather in one place without reason. Even in such a chaotic place, since so many strong beings gathered here, it must have been for some enticing benefits; otherwise, it would be better to serve as a lord on a planet like Tianlong Star, where one would undoubtedly command more respect.
