Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3280 Waiting Near The Shore

”Soulsteal Pearl Temple, Oracular Reaver Abode, and Malevolent Blade Hall… hmm… What will your next move be…?”

Davis pursed his lips as he sat on a comfortable recliner near the sandy trails, with his legs comfortably stretched and his arms behind his head as he watched the wild sea waves hit the shores. The beach was empty, and not even a single soul seemed to be around him, but the light seemed to be burning bright as a large campfire was lit here by him.

”You… you… you… How are you this strong…?”

At this moment, a person appeared beside him.

It was a pink-robed woman, her lips curled as she expressed her doubt with a pout. She imagined that he would need his help but took care of everything by himself, making her question the usefulness of her existence.

Davis turned to look at Lereza and her child-like mannerisms.

ʼTook her like ten minutes to be no longer able to suppress her curiosity…ʼ Davis couldnʼt help but inwardly chuckle.

Clearly, she was unwilling to have been surpassed so easily in a short amount of time. However, he didnʼt necessarily surpass her as he could feel that her cultivation had reached the Late Immortal Emperor Stage. Perhaps the only person among them who could handle Calypsea forcefully was her, but considering she was a wood-attributed fey spirit, he imagined Calypsea would burn her to a crisp.

Naturally, he brought her with him along with the Nine Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace when he left his master room, thinking he might need his guardian during this expedition to visit his friends and allies before heading towards assassination sect branches.

He was sure that he was going to be pursued to the ends of the earth and was prepared to kill whoever came his way, but it had been more than ten minutes, and no one came following him.

Davis couldnʼt help but find this doubtful.

Of course, he erased his traces by using death energy to conceal himself and fly away, but still, if the Ancestors of the three assassination sects or even the Ghost Tear Hallʼs Ancestors came, they would be able to pinpoint his location with some difficulty.

”Answer me…!”

Lereza demanded with her fists clenched.

When Davis left, he definitely wouldnʼt be able to kill those Level Five Immortal Emperor Stage Grand Elders with his strength alone, but with a single move, he killed all three of them. It was unbelievable to her, even though he explained his exploits in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm.

After all, he didnʼt go into detail back then!

”My Essence Physique reached equilibrium, Lereza. Itʼs now called the Tempestuous Firestorm Obliteration Physique.”

Davis said with some pride as his lips curled before he turned to look towards Schleya, who was standing in the distance, also watching the waves with some complicated gleam in her eyes.

He couldnʼt help but wonder what she was thinking as she just killed around eight hundred assassins with utter calm before running out of energy, after which he pulled her into the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace. She seemed to have taken a bath and become clean of blood, even having some karmic virtue hanging over her head for killing so many assassins despite the murder she committed, but he wondered if something was wrong.

After all, he was the one who took her with him, imagining Schleya wouldnʼt blink an eye to kill, unlike others. Would that kind of perspective have changed now that she experienced a life that wasnʼt only about killing?

”Ob-Obliteration!? You mean the fusion of Fire, Wind, and Lightning…!? I want to see…!”

Lereza sounded curious and excited, awakening Davis out of his reverie as he turned to look at her.

”Be respectful.”

Lereza abruptly sat in attention while still floating on her cloud, ”Master, please show me your Essence Physique.”

”Go ahead.”

Davis let her soul sense penetrate his abdomen as she took a good look at his lower dantian, appearing to be full of curiosity. He knew Lereza was a studious girl since she was cooped up in the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace while time was slowed down for her. Therefore, he didnʼt think it was strange that she wanted to study his physique, which reached a strange yet miraculous equilibrium.

In fact, her soul sense even tried to climb to his middle dantian, but he stopped her, making her pout.

Davis chuckled before he cast a look at Schleya again. He thought for a moment before walking towards her, standing beside her as he watched the waves roar violently near them before receding forcefully, repeating every few seconds, which honestly made it quite mesmerizing to watch amidst the bright beach fire.

The warmth from the back and the cold breeze from the front created quite a cozy atmosphere where he wanted to put his hand over her shoulder and pull her closer.

However, Schleya moved by herself and lightly leaned on him, wrapping her arm around his, which made Davis blink.

”Iʼd like to say what you did today was reckless, but— I was surprised. Youʼre so strong that I donʼt even remotely see how anyone can possibly be more powerful than you.”

”Oh, youʼd be surprised again.”

Davis chuckled, using his other hand to caress Schleyaʼs head.

”You did well today. I also didnʼt expect that your prowess wouldʼve become seven levels higher. You mustʼve trained harder and improved your Blood Pledge World Heart Manual beyond your level to be able to reach this point.”

”Mhm~” Schleya lightly hummed.

The Blood Pledge World Heart Manual had the Immortal Section probed and researched already, but the Immortal King Section was created by Schleya herself. Therefore, one could see what kind of genius she was in comprehending Blood Laws, devoting her life to cultivating Blood Laws but also not saying no to him whenever he asked something of her, even protecting his little sister as much as she could.

The reason he also took with her was because she was more used to killing than any one of his women. It was quite selfish of him to do that, but the only woman he could trust to not lose her mind while killing everyone who stood in their way was Schleya and only her.

Holding her close, he turned to look at her.

”No one seems to have followed us. Do you want to comprehend with me?”

”Comprehend with you?”

Davis turned his body around and stood in front of her, leaning closer to her face.

”!!!”

Schleyaʼs pupils dilated as she saw him appear so close. Her body froze by itself as though her blood was frozen. However, his forehead touched hers without their lips connecting, and numerous insights into Blood Laws and other related Laws poured into her.

ʼThis is…ʼ

Schleyaʼs gaze shook, and she instantly realized Davis was giving her the opportunity to further comprehend Blood Laws so that she could pave her path to the Immortal Emperor Stage with the Blood Pledge Worldheart Manual.

Otherwise, she could only continue on with another blood-attributed manual, which might bring more problems as blood was complicated, even if over-encompassing.

Quickly, she began to focus and digest the miraculous comprehension clouds flowing into her.

Indeed, Davis had a load of comprehension clouds that he got from refining the soul essences of the assassins, including Darkness Laws, Curse Laws, and other darker and wicked Laws. Even he began to immerse himself in the comprehension, although he planned for something else entirely.

Meanwhile, Lereza had her hands blocking her face, her ring finger occasionally moving as she peeked if they were kissing or not like a peep.

It wasnʼt long before she realized that they were not kissing, causing her to drop her hands and heave a sigh of relief before she waved her hand and pulled them into the time chamber of the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace and flew into the air, raising her senses to guard them.
