Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3263 Last Moments...

”…”

Davis couldnʼt even react properly to how the World Master jolted Fallen Heaven from him. He blinked, looking at the scene with a resigned outlook, the deepest depths of his heart, knowing that there was not much he could do other than act desperate and kneel to be granted mercy.

”You- you dare try to seal me again!?”

The bright skies changed colors as Fallen Heaven roared at the World Master. The clouds became as dull as a monochromatic world and the grass darker.

Karmic prowess emerged from Fallen Heaven as it surrounded the World Master like it was trapping her in a coffin, and within the coffin emerged death energy as though wanting to stop her breathing. The space the World Master was trapped in became a zone of death as though no existence could maintain a state of life inside.

However, the World Master simply pushed aside the transparent purple coffin and stepped forward, walking out of the death zone.

”…”

Fallen Heavenʼs spirit sank. Even though it attacked the World Master, she didnʼt even retaliate, much less defend, as she stepped out of it as though she was walking from one room to another.

It still had its most powerful, final attack, which was to erase the soul imprint, but before this giant, it knew it wouldnʼt even work and may even cause it to encounter a backlash instead.

Naturally, Davis also saw this scene, the light in his pupils disappearing.

In Tiaʼs story, the man was exiled from the realm by the mysterious entity since the treasure was lost, but now, that man still had that treasure, which meant that the mysterious entity was going to plunder the treasure from the man if they ever retrieved the treasure.

Clearly, that mysterious entity wouldnʼt leave that man alive, as it was entirely possible that the man would seek revenge for this matter in the future.

Prevention was better than cure, so Davis knew he was definitely getting erased out of existence or, at the very least, crushed into meat paste like the others he had seen just now.

”Seal you?”

The World Master uttered with some confusion, ”I nurtured you. A fused Primeval Law Treasure of the highest order like you wouldnʼt even be able to show some semblance of consciousness as it took hundreds of billions of years for the spirits of Primeval Law Treasures to be born, but with my ability, I hastened your growth, allowing you to ignite into existence like a spark. However, something was lacking.”

”…” Fallen Heaven was speechless hearing this information, which it didnʼt couldnʼt tell if it was true or not.

However, the World Master continued with her brows scrunched into a frown.

”When I obtained you from the Primeval Universe Ruins, you were like a broken treasure that wasnʼt able to exude its true prowess that should be overwhelming, so while you were still just a consciousness, I left you to be used by others, hoping that they would bring out your true potential but all you caused was them to be utterly ruined, causing me to seal you and your powers for good.”

”Uh? So you did seal me!”

Fallen Heaven sounded like the World Master was caught, but the latterʼs gaze flashed.

”It was clear using you in that state would mean instantaneous death for me, making it not worth it for me to not try using you anymore, so sealing you instead of discarding you to be misused was the least I could do.”

”But even then, I still managed to harbor delusional hopes for you.” The World Master turned to look at Myria, her eyes narrowing before she returned her gaze to the Grimoire of Fate.

”However, you came up with a method to sneak out of the Nurturing Tri-Temporal Grand Formation that was gradually running out of energy, forming a karmic connection with a book in a nearby celestial rock that was supposed to keep you locked in a delicate balance with mortals, manifesting weak, deathly beings that might die from a single punch of a Third Stage Cultivator and began to reap souls in order to strengthen yourself before finally landing in this manʼs grasp.”

The World Master glanced at Davis, her gaze causing him to feel a dense mountain weighing on him.

”You two begin using each other to fulfill your own goals, and the rest is something only you two could tell, yet I can clearly see that both your souls are fused. If one dies, the other could probably die, but thereʼs no way an apex treasure like you would die from a mere Immortal Kingʼs death. The backlash wouldnʼt be the same.”

”…”

Her words didnʼt disappoint Davis, as that sounded like a looming death threat to him.

Moreover, he now fully understood what transpired before he met Fallen Heaven, knowing what kind of plans the World Master had for it, although it could just be her spouting some drivel. Then again, he wouldnʼt know why an existence of her caliber would even bother to lie.

Regardless, his smile couldnʼt help but become more pronounced as he walked closer to Fallen Heaven and pushed it aside.

”World Master, somewhere in my heart, I know this day would come, and unfortunately for me, I didnʼt have enough strength to avert this disaster.”

Smiling wryly, Davis cupped his hands, ”In any case, I can see that you care about your realm, so it would be helpful to me and magnanimous of you if you could safeguard my family in your realm for the next hundred thousand years at the very least. The price would, of course, be my life. Even if I am reborn through some insane karmic gymnastics, which even you couldnʼt wrap your mind around, I swear I wouldnʼt seek revenge on you.”

Dropping his hands, Davis heaved a breath.

”Since World Master has seen how I lived my life, I guess my words should be somewhat trustable, no?

He asked a question in an unsure voice, causing the World Master to stare at him.

There was silence in the world. The dull skies and the dark grass slowly returned to vibrancy as Fallen Heaven stopped using its powers.

”You… what- what are you saying…?”

Myria strode forward and grabbed him by the collar with both her hands, her eyes becoming moist as she demanded that he explain himself.

She could understand why he was not fighting back. But did his determination amount to just that? Where did his cunningness go? Instead of hoodwinking the World Master into letting him go, why did it seem like he resigned himself for real?

”Would you prefer that I beg for my life? The World Master isnʼt even targeting you or my family for me to be mad about it…”

Looking at him avert his gaze, her heart sank, and she wanted to cry out, not wanting to experience this kind of emotion. Instead, she summoned all the frustrations and happiness she experienced from his actions and turned them all into rage.

”Davis Loret! You dare leave me behind after stealing my heart!?”

”…!”

Davis reacted like he was jolted out of his reverie as his eyes went wide, his pupils staring at Myria shed tears while she leaned and forcefully kissed his lips. It was a prolonged peck, her lips not even moving, but the emotions behind it made his sullen heart grow fond of life more than ever before, causing him to wrap his arms around her waist and kiss Myria as though he was grasping that very life.

”In that case, I will erase both of you.”

The World Master raised her hand, causing Myria to tightly hold him back.

”In this life, Iʼm glad I met you...”

A soul transmission full of emotion fell on Davisʼs mind, causing him to shudder as he could feel the determination to die along with him.

”Wait...!”

Davis moved his head away from Myria and raised his hand against the World Master, Fallen Heaven landing in his grasp.
