Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2823 Dubious Ways

”Do you remember the Calamity Light?”

”Hm?” Davis furrowed his brows as he heard Drakeʼs question.

What does the Calamity Light have to do with the situation now? However, his brows widened as he quickly got an idea, knowing what Drake was probably getting at.

”It was visible here, right?”

”Yes, it was visible throughout the First Haven World.”

”Then that would mean that both worlds are connected as we thought, making it so that it is possible that if we could emulate something like the Calamity Light, then we would be able to warn your father inside the Grand Beginnings Continent. However, we obviously cannot create something ridiculously powerful like that, so I thought, what if we...”

Drake pointed at the ceiling and appeared innocent, ”Hid the sun for a moment..? Perhaps, we may be able to relay a message by making it blink.”

”...”

Davis blinked as though he had heard the most ridiculous thing in his life. Inhaling a bit, he patted Drakeʼs shoulders.

”I understand that you want to help, but can you not utter some bullshit? I mean, hide the sun? Are you going to create clouds above the sealed Grand Beginnings Continent or something? Does the sun even work like that? Besides, itʼs unknown whether we could even pierce or tower over the formation that is the Grand Beginnings Continent. Moreover, Iʼm sure the attribute of karma had a big role to play in the Calamity Light to be able to peek inside the Grand Beginnings Continent.”

”Then this planʼs a failure...?”

Drake appeared confused, causing Davis to shake his head.

”Well, itʼs maybe worth a try but not worth losing your life over as it is unknown what dangers lie above the Forty-Two Territories Grand Formation. Otherwise, do you think the Immortal Emperors here would not do anything to it?”

”Immortal Emperors...?” Drakeʼs lips twitched, ”So they are existences above Immortal Kings?”

Davis nodded before a spark lit up in his head.

”Now that I think of it... since a minute amount of karmic energy can traverse between our two worlds to allow life tablets to break... then...”

He started wondering if Evelynn could influence the things she left behind in their room back in the Loret Castle with her Hex Laws. Although it could be a long shot, he felt that it could also be worth asking her to try, but he knew that it might probably require her to become an Immortal King at the very least.

However, she was pregnant with his child! Therefore, all strenuous activities, including breakthroughs, must be avoided at all costs.

Davis struck his own cheeks with his palms and dragged them down, not knowing what to do to warn his parents and siblings to stay in the Grand Beginnings Continent.

”Guess your new ideaʼs a failure too.”

Drake smiled wryly as he saw Davisʼs expression, stretching his body, ”Looks like we have no choice but to receive them in a year.”

”What about your women? When have you told them to ascend, or did you completely bar them from ascending?”

”I told them to wait ten to fifty years depending upon if they could all become immortals at the same time.”

”Damn.” Davisʼs expression churned, ”They mustʼve begged you not to leave...”

”Well,” Drake couldnʼt help but smile wryly, ”They cried a lot, but... a manʼs gotta do what a manʼs gotta do. Iʼm here for you, brother.”

”...”

Davis felt moved, but he quickly kicked Drake away, sending him flying, ”Tch, I owe you a big one.”

Drake landed a few meters away before he spun coolly, ”Yes. Since my only path is to move forward, Iʼm going to become an Immortal King before I welcome my beauties back. To that end, Iʼm gonna want to attract a powerful beauty here, perhaps be a bit forceful about it as my beauties already gave begged to prioritize my life over anything, meaning that they want me to fuck around as much as I can.”

His eyes flashed with a golden light, appearing to be serious. After all, he felt the threat of death looming around his head and for his wives, who may ascend in a few decades. He couldnʼt afford to be patient and let them all die just because he wanted to be nice.

Davis couldnʼt help but blink. Drakeʼs women wanted him to get more women for the sole purpose of dual cultivation to strengthen their husband?

”...” This left him speechless.

Nonetheless, he thought for a moment before he opened his mouth, ”I saw an old man wearing the emblem of the Azure Radiance Slave Traders be present here. Iʼm pretty sure they sell dual cultivation slaves, so do you want to... save one?”

Davis asked, causing Drake to blink twice, ”Azure Radiance Slave Traders...? Save- of course, I want to save the poor and innocent beauties who are in distress. They all need saving~”

Without missing a beat, he raised his hand and appeared like a protester fighting for some rights.

Davis couldnʼt help but smile as he knew that this friend of his used his entire savings to release female slaves from their captors and continued to do so as a pursuit back then.

Although he couldʼve stopped doing that after joining the Dual Lotus Manor, Davis knew that Drake still had that urge to save beauties within him, except this time, he might not want to let them leave without paying the price, whether it be years of service, offering resources or becoming his.

Davis understood that there was a limit to charity when people were going through difficult times.

”Alright, I canʼt introduce you to them as they might recognize me, but Iʼll try to utilize the help of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan.”

”What? You had some dealing with them?”

Drake went shocked.

”Yeah, I bought a lovely Rumbling Earthtail Lion from the Azure Radiance Slave Traders. Sheʼs with me even now.”

”Where? I donʼt see Mingzhi either.”

Davis displayed his life ring by raising his hand before grabbing Drakeʼs shoulder.

”In any case, stay low and donʼt be acting so subservient to me. If we overdid it, we might be found out, as people arenʼt fools. One could only distract them with so much information, so each time some kind of doubt came up, they would start to understand that my identity didnʼt make sense. Even bringing you here could be the hint they all need to connect that Mo Tian and the Emperor of Death are the same.”

”Alright. Iʼll be careful.”

Drake replied solemnly before his expression turned into one of sleaziness, ”So what are you going to do about those three beauties?”

”...”

Davis shrugged and turned around to leave.
