New Age Of Summoners

’Why are you worried about the traps? We already have someone to test them, right?’

Captain Berk looked at his squad members as he revealed an evil smile on his face.

’Hm’

All the squad members looked at each other before looking at Ajax with pity; however, they were not going to back Ajax because he was not their friend or relative.

’Kid, go inside the cave and check whether Captain Edmond and Udo are inside it.’

Soon, Captain Berk looked at Ajax with an amicable smile; however, in Ajax’s view, it was not suitable for his face.

’What? Me? Captain Berk, isn’t it dangerous for me to go?’

Ajax was shocked as he didn’t expect to become cannon fodder for the Quickthunder mercenary squad.

So, he whispered to them with a shocked look on his face.

’I didn’t think you were such a coward.’

’No wonder, your squad left you in the middle of the cursed wilderness.’

’You can barely run, barely fight and whine a lot. So, what is the use in taking you with us?’

Hearing Ajax’s words, all the squad members became furious and started mocking him.

’You guys, wait for a second.’

Seeing that all his squad members were furious, the captain of the squad stopped them as he turned his head at Ajax before saying, ’Kid, this is not a request. It’s an order. Since we are helping you in getting out of this Cursed Wilderness, you have to contribute something, right?’

’...’

Ajax was speechless at their words as he thought, ’You are basically sending me to my death and saying that you are helping me out.’

Ajax cursed the entire Quickthunder mercenary squad as he nodded his head, ’I will enter the cave.’

’Good.’

’That’s how you repay someone’s kindness.’

’You will become a top cultivator someday, kid.’

Soon, all the squad members started encouraging him as they sent him to his possible death.

’Compared to the demons that try to invade us, you are the real demons in human clothing.’

Ajax cursed all the squad members as he silently moved towards the entrance.

’Captain Edmond, I am Ajax.’

How could Ajax just enter into his death? So, before he could enter the cave, he stopped in his tracks as he tried to communicate with Captain Edmond.

Even though Ajax didn’t know how deep the cave was and how many traps were hidden in the cave, he wanted to make sure that he would not be killed in the process of entering the cave.

So, he wanted to contact Captain Edmond and wanted to know the traps beforehand.

’Ajax?’

Soon, Ajax got a reply from Captain Edmond that made Ajax excited as he immediately replied, ’Yes, Captain Edmond. I am Ajax.’

’Why are you here? Did you get captured by the Quickthunder mercenary squad?’

Captain Edmond hurriedly asked a couple of questions.

’Everyone, I think, Captain Edmond must be severely injured. That is the only reason why he placed so many traps here. So, all we need to do is just fight him without using any trump cards.’

While Ajax was communicating with Captain Edmond, Captain Berk was preparing his squad members with his words.

Since Edmond was using hidden traps, then Captain Berk was assuming that he was injured while massacring the Hammergust family.

’Captain Edmond, they were using me to test the hidden traps. How could I enter the cave?’

After exchanging a few sentences, Ajax asked for the hidden traps.

’There are...’

’Edmond, wait for a second. Are you sure that he is Ajax? What if Captain Berk was using some technique to fool us?’

Just when Captain Edmond was about to talk about the traps, Udo interrupted him and asked Edmond whether the owner of the voice was Ajax or not?

’Hmm?’

Edmond felt what Udo said might be possible as he fell into a dilemma to inform Ajax about the hidden traps.

’Sigh..there is no change in Uncle Udo’s behaviour. He will doubt me that I am a demonic cultivator even if I become a King realm cultivator.’

As for Ajax, he could not help but sigh when he heard Udo’s words because Udo was known for his over cautiousness.

’Haha’

Hearing Ajax’s words, Edmond could not help but laugh before saying, ’Walk straight into the cave until you see three tunnels and enter the left tunnel which is wide open without any traps.’

With Ajax’s earlier, Edmond was very sure that it was Ajax because no one knew that Udo always thinks Ajax was a demonic cultivator.

’Okay.’

Ajax nodded his head with a slight smile on his face.

’Kid, what happened to you? Why are you not entering the cave?’

Seeing that Ajax was standing in the same place for a while now, Captain Berk could not help but berate him.

’Going going.’

With a face full of disgust, Ajax nodded his head as he entered the cave without wasting any more time.

’Good. As long as we get out of this Cursed Wilderness, you will be rewarded with some good rewards.’

Before Captain Berk could say those words, Ajax already entered into the cave.

’Captain Berk, looks like he is definitely going to die.’

’Yes. Captain Berk. The way he ran makes me think that he has already lost hope in getting out alive from here.’

Seeing that Ajax was running into the cave at an incredible speed, all the squad members of the Quickthunder mercenary squad members could not help but make fun of Ajax.

’Idiots. Stop making fun of him. Let’s see whether he is still alive or not. As long as he triggers three or four hidden traps, it will be worth his life.’

Captain Berk scoffed at his squad members as he moved forward to check the insides of the cave.

Since it was very dark in the cave, Captain Berk was only able to see some distance into the cave; however, after looking into the cave for something, he frowned.
