New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 2105: Taming the Specterfire

ʼThe heat…it increased by at least ten times.ʼThe moment he landed on the floating rock on the molten sea, Ajax felt the intensity of the heat increase by at least ten times.

However, maybe it was because of his Divine Flame Rule that had dozens of Divine Fire Skills, that Ajax only felt a slight burning sensation.

ʼHm…there might be around 100 steps to reach the floating Sentient Flame and to gain its acknowledgment. I can do it.ʼ

After roughly estimating the distance between him and the Sentient Flame, Ajax started moving towards the flame, using the intense heat to temper his body.

ʼHuh? It is not just the intensity of the flames but its will…the Sentient Flameʼs will.ʼ

Suddenly, Ajax felt that the Sentient Flame was using not just the intensity of the heat but also its will to pressure him.

ʼIs it because it sensed that its flames donʼt have any effect on me?ʼ

While walking forward, Ajax thought about this and could not help but smile.

Each step brought him closer to the Sentient Flame, but he could feel the heat intensifying, his body growing heavier under the pressure of its will. ʼThis is not just a treasure—it is a challenge.ʼ

Ajax had no intention of backing down as he continued to walk forward.

”If you want to test me, then Iʼll prove Iʼm worthy.”

The Sentient Flame, hovering in the center of the floating rock, pulsed with awareness.

Ajax could feel its gaze, a silent challenge burning through the waves of heat.

Ten steps away.

ʼRoarʼ

The molten sea roared beneath him, and the floating rock trembled as if resisting his advance. The closer he got, the stronger the flameʼs resistance became. Each step felt like walking against a storm of pure fire essence.

Five steps away.

His skin had long since turned a deep crimson, his body drenched in sweat that evaporated the instant it formed.

Three steps.

ʼSwiishʼ

The Sentient Flame flared violently, sending out a shockwave of heat that could melt steel in an instant.

But Ajax didnʼt retreat. Instead, he raised his hand, his palm open, allowing the flames to surge toward him.

ʼAarghʼ

Soon, the flames covered him and the scorching pain suddenly skyrocketed for a moment, making Ajax groan painfully.

ʼDing,Congratulations to the host for successfully completing your body tempering with a new Sentient Flame, the Specter Flame.

After that painful moment, Ajax received a system notification.

ʼI completed the body tempering just like that?ʼ

The body tempering process that he had completed with the Sentient Flames in the past was longer and more tiring.

However, now, other than feeling a bit tired, the body tempering process was quick, making Ajax heave a sigh of relief.

It was because, once a cultivator completes his body tempering with a certain Sentient Flame, his resistance to the intense flames released by that particular Sentient Flame would be greatly increased.

ʼNow, I can continue to walk forward and pick it up much more easily than it originally was.ʼ

While saying that, Ajax jumped from one floating rock to another, ignoring the intense flames released by the Sentient Flame named Specter Flame.

”I am done playing with you. Itʼs time to acknowledge me as your master.”

Within a few steps, Ajax had already reached the Sentient Flame that was hovering in the center of the molten sea.

ʼSwooshʼ

Seeing that Ajax dared to touch it, the Sentient Flame became quite furious and released its full heat intensity.

ʼAarghʼ

Ajax felt the scorching pain; however, he quickly reacted, ”I wanted to tame you without using the Divine Flame Rule; however, youʼve left me no other choice.”

[Divine Flame Rule - Divine Flames]

The moment Ajax activated his Divine Flame Rule, his body was covered with flames; however, they were the flames created by Ajax using his Divine Essence of Nature.

Although they didnʼt have much attack power, Ajax felt that they were quite useful in suppressing the Wild Sentient Flames.

ʼIn front of a Divine Entity, everything must submit.ʼ

This was what Ajax thought as he increased the intensity of his Divine Flames to counter the intensity of the flames released by the Specter Flame.

The two intensities of flames pushed each other for a moment and , without surprise, Ajaxʼs Divine Flames ended up as the winner.

ʼSwiishʼ

The Specter Flame retracted all its flames and turned into a small ball of flame and hovered in front of Ajax.

”I admit defeat, Cultivator. I am willing to follow you from now on.”

The Specter Flameʼs eerie voice resounded in Ajaxʼs ears.

”You acknowledge me as your Master? Great.”

Ajax was happy because he had successfully tamed a Wild Sentient Flame…his first Sentient Flame.

ʼSwiishʼ

As Ajax was celebrating the collection of his first Sentient Flame, the Specter Flame, with its ghastly, translucent skull , curled around Ajax a few times before entering his body.

ʼDing,The Sentient Flame: Specter Fire wishes to form a contract with you. Do you want to contract it?

ʼHuh? A contract with a Sentient Flame?ʼ

Ajax raised his eyebrows when he received the system notification and could not help but think, ʼI donʼt think the other Sentient Flames owned by those Sects and other powerhouses formed a contract with anyone.ʼ

ʼDing,Due to the hostʼs display of Divine Flames and your high-level affinity with the fire element, the Specter Fire decided to follow you.

ʼDing,Hence, it wishes to form a contract with you.

The system explained and made Ajax a bit proud of his thinking because he had created the Divine Flames around his body to fight the Specter Fire.

Because of that, not only did it acknowledge him as its master, but it even went as far as asking for a contract.

Forming a contract with him meant that it had decided to live and die together with him.

ʼSince you want to form a contract with me, I donʼt have any reason to reject you.ʼ

With a smile, Ajax agreed to form a contract with it.
