New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 955: Rejecting the Kingʼs offer

Initially, King Stephen was expecting one of the disciples from the top secrets to win the Championʼs contest; however, who would have thought that the entire top ranking would be dominated by the disciples of the vagrant cultivators.

As for the first position, it was occupied by Ajax, a squad member of the Hazegroove mercenary squad.

If any of the disciples were to get the first rank in the contest, King Stephen wanted him to marry Princess Daphne and join the royal family.

Even though he could betroth Princess Daphne to Ajax, there was not much information on Ajax.

ʼIf only I gained much information on Ajax, I would have directly made him my successor by giving the royal family to him.ʼ

Looking at Ajax, King Stephen muttered to himself.

ʼAlso, what a waste of time to send him into the Sacred Pool. There was no change in his cultivation even after staying in the Sacred Pool.ʼ

King? Stephen shook his head before asking his master, ʼMaster, what should I do now?ʼ

ʼIdiot. He is not as simple as he looks. Even I am unable to see through him. Maybe, you can use your useless daughter to pull him into our family.ʼ

However, his masterʼs words made King Stephen raise his brows.

ʼThatʼs right! How could his cultivation remain the same even after staying in the Sacred Pool for an entire week? Even a rank 1 spirit beast will reach rank 4 or even rank 5, so, there is really something wrong with him.ʼ

After pondering his masterʼs words, King Stephen came to a sudden revelation making him feel Ajax was somewhat special.

With that thought in his mind, King Stephen walked towards Ajax.

As for Ajax, Princess Daphne introduced him to the Old man Lin.

”Ajax, are you willing to join the Royal family?”

Without wasting any time, King Stephen asked Ajax with a serious look on his face.

”Your majesty...”

”Before you give your answer, I will say another thing. If you join the royal family, I will allow you to marry my daughter Daphne since she has taken quite a liking to you after coming out of? the inheritance ground.”

Before Ajax could finish his words, King Stephen interrupted Ajax as he said something that gave Ajax quite a surprise.

Even though King Stephen didnʼt have a close relationship with his daughter, he always kept an eye on her and he guessed Princess Daphne might have developed feelings for Ajax.

ʼWhy is he asking me to join his family? Did he find out about the system? No, looks like my cultivation might be the reason.ʼ

Ajax looked at King Stephen for a moment before looking at Princess Daphne whose face completely turned into bright red.

ʼWhat will he say? Will he agree? I donʼt want him to agree for the sake? of joining the royal family.ʼ

ʼIt will make me the bargaining tool I imagined.ʼ

ʼBut why do I want him to agree to my fatherʼs suggestion at the same time?ʼ

As for Princess Daphne, her head was completely in a mess as many thoughts flashed in her head.

”Your majesty, what are you doing? Didnʼt you promise me that you will not force Princess Daphne into a forced marriage?”

At the side, the Old man Lin became very angry as he shouted at King Stephen.

”Guardian Lin, please donʼt come between me and my daughter. I will marry her off to anyone I want.”

King Stephen could not take the impudence of the old man Lin anymore. So, his reply sounded a little angry.

”Ajax, I am still waiting for your reply.”

After replying to the old man Lin, King Stephen urged Ajax to give him a reply for his earlier offer.

”Sorry to say this, your majesty, but I donʼt have any plans to join the royal family.”

There was not a single bit of hesitation while giving his answer to King Stephen as he continued, ”Moreover, Princess Daphne is not a tool that could give traded to others for your own purpose. I hope you let her choose the man she wants.”

After finishing his words, Ajax looked at Princess Daphne and revealed a slight smile before transmitting his words, ʼI will take care of Little Blue. You donʼt have to worry about it, Princess Daphne.ʼ

”Okay then. I will be leaving now as I have other things to do.”

He reassured Princess Daphne and said his goodbyes to everyone before walking out of the royal palace.

ʼWhat did he say just now? Did he reject my offer? Damn it...this is the first time after I became the king that someone rejected my offer.ʼ

King Stephen was very furious when he heard Ajaxʼs reply; however, he was warned by his master, ʼI am sensing six powerful cultivators watching you. I think they are Vagrant cultivators. So, itʼs better for you to donʼt try anything reckless. I am not healed properly yet.ʼ

ʼWhat? Vagrant cultivators? All of them? Looks like Ajax is very important to them since all the vagrant cultivators came to protect him.ʼ

All of a sudden, King Stephen revealed a slight smile as though he found out something interesting, ʼI need to make Ajax join the royal family at any cost.ʼ

If Levi was her, King Stephen would have not thought much because Levi was the disciple of one of the Vagrant cultivators.

However, even after Levi left the secret realm, why was everyone still watching the royal palace? Of course, it was for Ajax. So, King Stephen wanted to make Ajax join his royal family.

ʼOnce he joins the royal family, I have many ways to control him and uncover all his secrets.ʼ

When he thought about it, King Stephen could not help but chuckle and remembering that he was not alone, he controlled his emotions.

”As expected of my useless daughter. You canʼt even help me with one thing.”

King Stephen scoffed at Princess Daphne before walking out from that place.
