New Age Of Summoners

494 Royal family Shadows

From his childhood, he looked up to the royal family and how it governs the Zrochester province and takes care of its subject. Because of that single reason he had joined the military and with his merits in the military, he quickly grew in ranks and finally gained the Commander that only takes orders from the King himself.

However, after listening to the old manʼs words, Commander Reid felt scorn towards the royal family.

ʼSigh...but I canʼt do anything against the royal family because of my family,ʼ

If he didnʼt have a family, Commander Reid would not be still kneeling in front of the King; instead, he would have left from the royal palace once and would have thought about something to take the royal family down.

”By the way, Commander Reid, did you send reinforcements for assisting the mercenaries against the demon army?” Stephen Draton was satisfied with commander Reidʼs words and asked him about the reinforcements.

”I already sent them before I came here, your majesty,”

While answering to the King, the earlier respect in his voice was no longer present in commander Reidʼs words.

”Good. You can go back and continue to monitor the actions of the top three sects and the five great families,” Stephen Draton waved his hand at Commander Reid to leave.

”Yes, your majesty,” Commander Reid nodded his head and left from the chamber.

Two years ago, Commander Reidʼs duty had been changed from the attacking division to the secret division and he was in charge of keeping an eye on the three top sects and the five great families.

ʼI always that they are the only treacherous ones; however, I didnʼt expect I am working for an even more treacherous one,ʼ While leaving the chamber, Commander Reid bitterly shook his head.

Soon, he left the chamber and now, there was only King Stephen Draton was left in the meeting chamber.

ʼClap clapʼ

As soon as the commander Reid left the meeting chambers, King Stephen Draton clapped his hands two times and a masked man, who was completely in black attire appeared out of nowhere.

”Your majesty. What should I do now?” As soon as he appeared, he kneeled on a single leg and asked the King with a respectful tone.

”Keep an eye on him and ask your subordinates to keep an eye on his family. As long as you feel that he is revealing anything that he heard here today, then you know what to do, right?” Stephen Draton calmly ordered the masked man.

”You can relax now, your majesty. I will take care of him,” The masked man gave his word and disappeared into the shadows.

”With the Royal family shadows keeping an eye on you, letʼs see what you can do now...Haha,” Stephen Draton laughed and stood up from his throne and walked into the distance.

Because only Commander Reid had access to the secret spies in the various sects and families and if he killed him, the royal family could not get any information about those sects and families.

ʼHowever, from now on, he knows that I will keep an eye on his and his family membersʼ actions. So, he will not dare to do anything funny,ʼ King Stephen lightly chuckled as he went to his cultivation chambers.

...….

Outside the royal palace,

ʼHe will definitely not kill me nor harm my family members for now as it will do the royal family more harm than me spreading what I have heard earlier; however, it wonʼt help me in the long run. I need to find something before the royal family feels I am no longer useful to them.ʼ After leaving the royal meeting chambers, Commander Reid silently thought in his head before looking back at the royal palace with a hint of disgust on his face.

”Commander Reid, what happened?”

As commander Reid was busy in his thoughts about his future plans, he heard a group of military men were coming towards him.

”Hello, youngmen. How are you all,”

Looking at the young men in front of him, Commander Reidʼs previous disgust had completely disappeared and was replaced with a smile.

Because the young men in front of him were none other than his half-students, whom he had taught about fighting techniques and military tactics.

All the young men were donned in the same military attire that made them look like they were from the same squad in the army.

”We are fine, Commander Reid. But you looked somewhat different compared to the time when you taught us...Haha,” A young man in military attire jokingly replied to the commander Reid.

”Itʼs because I became old and I canʼt even make you young men fear me like old days,” Commander Reid said with the same smile on his face.

”No commander Reid. We still fear you,” another young man with the same military attire replied to Commander Reid in a polite smile.

”Haha...you must be joking. Even though you are saying that you still dare to joke with this old man,” Commander Reid replied to the young men and all of a sudden, he turned back as he felt someone was observing him.

However, he didnʼt see anyone in that direction and raised his brows.

”Commander Reid, what happened?”

”Is something wrong?”

”Although we are not comparable to your level, we can still try to help you,”

Looking at the expression on the face of Commander Reid, all the military youngmen hurriedly asked him.

”No, nothing. Itʼs just that I am becoming old...Haha,”

Although Commander Reid had an idea about what was happening, he didnʼt say anything to the military youngmen as he didnʼt want these young men to implicate in his issues.

”Are you sure, commander Reid?” the leader of the military youngmen asked Reid as he felt there was definitely something going on with his teacher.

”Itʼs nothing. Anyway, I have an important matter to attend to. Okay youngmen, carry on with your work,” Soon, Commander Reid bid his goodbyes and left from that place.

”Brother, donʼt you think he is lying?” One of the young men had asked the leader of the group.

”Of course, he is lying. When we have seen him behave like that? There definitely something wrong with Commander Reid,” The leader of the group replied tas he looked in the direction, the commander Reid had seen earlier.

”So, shouldnʼt we help him? You know, how much he has helped us back then, right?”

”If not for him, we wouldnʼt?be here and joined the military,”

”Yes, brother. We have to do something to help me,”

One after another the four young men asked the leader of the group because he was the strongest and intelligent one among all the five members.

”Letʼs help but first, we have to find out what is the problem?” The leader of the group also knew that they owed commander Reid big time and decided to help the commander Reid from the problem, which they still have to find.
