Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 948: Chapter 401: Fortune Raider

The Lake Light Badge is a silver badge in the shape of a sword and shield.

The center of the badge is inlaid with a sapphire, which is light blue like lake water, containing a reassuring energy.

At the connection point between the Lake Light Holy Sword’s blade and hilt is a diamond-shaped groove, matching the size of the sapphire on the badge.

Wu Chang picked the sapphire from the badge and embedded it into the Lake Light Holy Sword, accompanied by the eruption of lake light from the blade.

As the lake light dissipated, a brand new Holy Sword appeared before him.

”Item Name: Eternal Lake”

”Artifact Level: A (Growth Potential)”

”Item Description: A Holy Sword incarnated from the waters of the Stilan Holy Land, the sapphire embedded in the blade reflects the holder’s virtues; both goodwill and malevolence will be mirrored on the sword’s edge.”

”Item Skills: Perfect Sword.”

”Skill Description: A Holy Sword blessed by the Lake Fairy guarding Steven; as long as the guardian’s belief remains unwavering, the blade of the Holy Sword will not be damaged, and the sword’s body will not be affected by abnormal statuses.”

”Item Skills: Sword of Honor and Order”

”Skill Description: A person of high morality holding the Eternal Lake will trigger a special state: Lake Light. When attacking a target disrupting the order of the plane, according to the strength of Lake Light, it will slay the disruptor of order while repairing part of the order that was damaged.”

”Lake Light: The lake light that extends will transform into the blade of the Holy Sword. The higher the user’s moral and honor, the greater the extra damage caused by Lake Light.”

”Item Skills: Guardian Oath”

”Skill Description: Eternal Lake will generate a corresponding oath according to the user’s belief. When the user of Eternal Lake fights for the oath, the guardian will not be affected by abnormal statuses, and Lake Light will acquire the power of protection.”

”Item Skills: ???”

”Skill State: Not Activated”

”Skill Description: ???”

Wu Chang played with the Eternal Lake in his hand, feeling the power within the sword.

The Lake Light Holy Sword has evolved from an A-Level item to an A-Level item with growth potential, with no change in apparent level, but the actual transformation can be described as earth-shattering.

An item with growth potential does not mean it can grow to an S-Level item, rather it represents its capability for unlimited growth.

Although the conditions for upgrading an item with growth potential are stringent, reaching the S-Level item is as challenging as obtaining an S-Level item, yet every item with growth potential at least has the foundation of an S-Level item.

In the Abyssal Game, the value of an A-Level item with growth potential is at least equivalent to five ordinary A-Level items, even at this ratio, it’s priceless.

An A-Level item with growth potential can be obtained as a reward from an S-Level instance settlement; such a level of reward can be described as overpowered even for S-Level instances.

His acquisition of the Eternal Lake was likely due to a stroke of luck.

While he was in the Steam Phantom Plane, he did not obtain the Lake Light Badge, but upon settlement, it appeared in the reward list.

The reason is related to his overachievement of the main task two and the hidden side task, as well as having the identity of the Secret Magic Knight Order Leader, allowing him to obtain the Lake Light Holy Sword in advance.

If other players, even with the same instance rating as him, would not be able to obtain the Eternal Lake.

Compared to the original Lake Light Holy Sword, the skill set of the Eternal Lake underwent a comprehensive upgrade.

Firstly, the first skill ”Perfect Sword” changed from the previous root of the Holy Sword not being damaged leading to the blade not being damaged, to the user’s belief not wavering leading to the blade not being damaged.

For ordinary players, this change can be considered a nerf, as their Will is far less firm than the root.

But for users with high Will Attributes, firm belief, who can adapt to the Eternal Lake, it is definitely a major enhancement.

A regular A-Level item contains not much Power of Root inside; facing not just dungeon bosses, even ranking players, it may break.

But supporting the blade with belief, even facing gods, it will not break.

The second skill ”Lake Blessing” of the Lake Light Holy Sword is deleted, replaced by a new skill ”Guardian Oath.”

The ”Lake Blessing” skill enabled users to greatly enhance survival ability by being next to water, and also slightly increase damage ability.

For ordinary players, ”Lake Blessing” can be said to be the core skill of the Lake Light Holy Sword.

But for Wu Chang, the improvement provided by ”Lake Blessing” is marginal; the enhancement is not significant.

As the Deep Sea Seed of Origin, a small lake’s blessing is somewhat petty for him.

He does not care about the increase in Life Attribute and 20% damage increase from ”Lake Blessing,” he values more the immunity to mental abnormal statuses in the skills.

And in ”Guardian Oath,” this effect is not only comprehensively enhanced to be free from all abnormal statuses but also activated upon Guardian Oath; Lake Light which originally had only offensive capabilities now also possesses defensive capabilities.

As long as the belief is strong enough, Lake Light will be both the sharpest spear and the hardest shield.

The third skill ”Sword of Honor” of the Lake Light Holy Sword is merged with ”Sword of Order” which can only be unlocked by King’s Badge.

Although the newly merged skill does not have the adverse effects of ”Sword of Order,” which can forcibly engage the target in a fair duel.

But the ”repairing order” description in the skills suggests that as long as it is used appropriately, the upper limit of this skill will not be low.

Besides the comprehensive upgrade of three skills, Eternal Lake also has the standard unlocked skills of advanced items with growth potential, indicating its current effects have far from reached its upper limit.
