Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 912: Chapter 389: Plane Son

The power of the steam explosive, as Wu Chang and others had already felt at Saint George Plaza.

The Executioner was different from the cyborgs that appeared in the plaza before; he stored steam explosives inside, partly to power his attacks and partly to self-destruct in failure, taking the opponent down with him.

This made the steam explosive inside the Executioner act extremely quickly, exploding in no more than two seconds.

A massive amount of dense steam spewed out from the Executioner’s body, containing destructive power, estimated by the All-Knowing Crystal to be enough to level one-fifth of Grimland.

Under the pressure of a large amount of steam explosive, Cold Mountain and Sword Star’s hearts, which had just been put at ease, were again tight in their throats.

Even though Wu Chang had just demonstrated incredible power in front of them, facing the pure value of steam explosives, the two had little confidence in Wu Chang.

In two seconds, they had to decide immediately whether to rush out of the slum area and forcibly leave the dungeon.

This predicament left Cold Mountain quite helpless.

As the former top Breaker in the Desolate Realm, the choices he faced before were always between fighting hard or playing it safe, deciding between different dungeon strategies.

But in the Steam Phantom Dungeon, his choices seemed to become whether to leave the dungeon and how to escape the shielded area and leave the dungeon.

He couldn’t even consider breaking through the dungeon, or strategizing the dungeon, or leaving it alive, as all those options disappeared from his choices.

The Abyssal Game he was familiar with suddenly became so alien.

While Cold Mountain and Sword Star were troubled by the Executioner’s self-destruction, Wu Chang was hesitating too.

The speed of the Executioner’s explosion this time was too fast, and his old trick of throwing the Executioner high into the air might not avoid the explosion radius.

Moreover, if he let the Executioner explode, the Demon-Breaking Steam Press core above his head would also be difficult to preserve, which made him reluctant.

Forget it, he had already extracted enough Industrial Crown Pearls, one more wouldn’t matter.

Just as he was about to act, Erin’s voice echoed in his Spiritual World.

In the next moment, a large swath of white flame appeared from all around, contracting onto the Executioner’s body.

The white flame drove away the steam, as if sweeping trash that overflowed from a bin back into it.

The Power of Root contained in the steam was completely ineffective in the face of the white flame, not even having a chance to struggle before being stuffed back into the Executioner’s body.

The white flame formed into a layer of shell over the Executioner’s surface, not a single gap was left exposed.

The scene in front of them stunned Cold Mountain and Sword Star, who also possessed the Power of Root, leaving them standing in place, staring blankly at this transformation, even forgetting to decide whether to escape the slum and leave the dungeon.

The same white flame, the Undying Sacred Fire borrowed by the Priest, just made them feel powerful, but the white Sacred Fire appearing now filled them with fear.

The Power of Root within them trembled spontaneously in front of the white Sacred Fire, a lower being’s instinctual fear when encountering a higher being.

There was only one possibility for this situation.

The white Sacred Fire before them was not borrowed counterfeit but true, wielded by God, containing Divine Power.

1, 2...

Pop~

After a slight sound like a wine cork being pulled out, everything returned to calm.

The giant bomb that, two seconds ago, carried world-destroying power enough to blow up one-fifth of Grimland suddenly became a dud.

Not to mention destroying anything, even the Executioner’s body showed no damage.

Anyone unaware might think the Executioner suddenly rose from the dead and just farted.

This is the God-like suppression of mortals, even those who master the Power of Root and can Call Wind and Rain in the Desolate Realm find themselves insignificant against real divine means.

Not only resistance, not even self-destruction is possible.

Cold Mountain and Sword Star remained silent, a question simultaneously arising in their hearts.

If it were them facing the white Sacred Fire, what could they do?

Just simulating this in their minds filled them with intense despair and suffocation.

The answer was, there was no way.

Though not corpses, being locked by the white Sacred Fire meant only watching themselves be consumed by white flames like corpses.

Previously, when Wu Chang pulled the Executioner into the Mysterious Space and killed him in less than a minute, it was an invisible, unknown fear.

But the white Sacred Fire’s casual extinguishing of the steam explosive was an unknown fear that was fully visible yet completely incomprehensible.

In their memories, not even the three Great Evil Gods could employ such dimensional-reducing tactics in the Desolate Realm.

They glanced at the Gray Church with the corners of their eyes, thinking: could it be that after today the three Evil God cults will become four?

For Wu Chang, Erinlu’s move left him equally astonished.

Due to his title as a Blasphemer, he did not fear Divine Power nor felt pressure from God.

Against those original deities who condensed Divinity, it was even easier for him to fight.

Over time, he had forgotten the rule, ”only God can defeat God.”

Seeing Erin’s action now reminded him of this rule, making him understand—through the Executioner’s and Cold Mountain and Sword Star’s reactions—that it was true.

It turns out that, aside from him, mortals genuinely had no resistance against God.

He pocketed his sentiments and approached the Executioner, extracting the Demon-Breaking Steam Press core embedded in the Executioner’s head.
