Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 924: Chapter 393: Seed of Famine

The death of Prime Minister Ron left Xavier’s mind buzzing and blank.

Only three thoughts remained in his mind.

First, confusion and anger: why did Prime Minister Ron die, who killed him, and how did the plan spiral out of control?

Second, fear: why did the assassin target Prime Minister Ron? Was it because of his apparent policies, or because he had sensed the Steam Council, yet due to Ron’s status, assassination was the only option?

If that’s the case, does it mean the Steam Council has been exposed? Is it already too late, even if he wanted to escape?

After a brief moment of confusion, anger, and fear, Xavier’s mind was filled with one final emotion.

Unwillingness.

This city was his life’s work, and no one could make him leave Grimland.

Since Ron was dead, he would take over Ron’s role and complete their plan!

In his anger, Xavier did not follow Ron’s instructions to temporarily flee the New Continent but chose to perfect their plan alone.

Determined to pay any price, the bottleneck that had blocked him for so long suddenly loosened.

At the moment he chose to act, the fate that had become blurred over the years became incredibly clear.

In their previous plan, the ability to gather power above the steam rules was always just out of reach.

Whether using transcendents or creations of the extraordinary steam engine as materials, they were always stuck at the boundary of the rule domain.

Now, he realized what was missing—it was him, he who bore the mission!

While Ron was alive, he always wanted him to research a steam engine that could surpass the rules without consuming life.

He had buried himself in research for years and finally realized that the ultimate steam engine he was pursuing was himself.

As long as he transformed himself into a semi-mechanical state like other Steam Councilors, and when he achieved divinity through the steam rules, he could use his will to manipulate the steam rules at will.

It was at this time that he discovered Sean had returned from the New World, teaming up with their old rival Raventon to investigate the explosion at the Pine Tree Coal Mine.

Thus, he used Wu Chang and Raventon to gradually expose the extraordinary steam engines that he and Ron had previously prepared to the public.

Using the extraordinary steam engine to influence the plane rules through the steam root power.

The development speed of the events exceeded his expectations, but the general direction was not wrong.

The steam rules had already completely enveloped Grimland, and the concentration of the rules was sufficient; there was one last thing to do before he could condense divinity and transform into the ultimate steam engine.

That is to kill Acting Prime Minister Glad.

It’s not because he harbored any personal grudge against Glad, nor like Wu Chang, aiming to eliminate a competitor for the prime minister candidate he supported.

With the clear realization of his mission, he discovered that he was not the only one selected by the world as the Plane Son; Glad was one as well.

As the leader of the Liberal Party, Glad had absolute authority in industry and trade, even more than Prime Minister Ron. ℴℴ𝘮

His mission as a Plane Son was to lead Stilan onto the path of industry and trade, opening a new Chapter for the plane, representing a potential future for the development of Stilan and even the entire plane.

Although Glad hadn’t converted his mission power into extraordinary power, his mere existence affected Xavier.

Eliminating Glad would mean absorbing Glad’s mission as a Plane Son, and with more favor from the plane, Xavier could easily condense divinity from the rules.

If not for the twist caused by Cold Mountain and Sword Star, Cold Mountain and Sword Star would have led a group of Steam Councilors to assassinate Glad in his plan.

The Executioner and he, who had gathered divine power, would clear out Olivia and Julie, the emissaries of God.

By then, he would accomplish the plan between Ron and himself as the ultimate extraordinary steam engine.

Unfortunately, Wu Chang’s presence completely disrupted his plans.

In the end of Xavier’s resentment, a line of blood-colored will emerged.

”Find the truth behind Ron’s death and witness the pinnacle of the extraordinary steam engine.”

From the final blood-colored will, Xavier’s greatest regrets were the reason for the issues in his and Ron’s plan and his research on the extraordinary steam engine.

Investigating the truth behind Prime Minister Ron’s death was already a main mission the players needed to complete, and investigating it posed no big issue.

Moreover, Wu Chang already had a rough guess about the truth of Ron’s assassination.

As Raventon once mentioned, eliminating all impossibilities reveals the truth, no matter how unlikely it seems.

As for the latter part of the blood-colored will, witnessing the pinnacle of the extraordinary steam engine, it was a bit challenging for him.

In Xavier’s resentment, he ultimately considered himself a special extraordinary steam engine, yet he remained unsatisfied, thus generating this resentment.

This means that even a divinity-touching extraordinary steam engine could not satisfy Xavier.

If it were in the mystical domain, Wu Chang might find a way, but the problem in the mechanical domain might only be solved after the instance completion, handed over to He Yun.

Wu Chang’s consciousness detached from Xavier’s resentment. He intended to stay a bit longer to investigate the Holy Land where the Lake Light Holy Sword was born.

But the Holy Land gave him no opportunity, ejecting him the instant the duel completely ended.
