Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 919: Chapter 391: Artificial Malice_2

The island was not large, and nearby was a source of water. He sniffed, there was no salty smell of seawater; it seemed to be a vast freshwater lake.

The lake’s surface was smooth as a mirror, clearly reflecting his silhouette.

As he observed the water’s surface, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.

He turned his head and saw Wu Chang holding the Lake Light Holy Sword, pushing through the bushes and walking out from the forest.

Upon seeing the enemy appear, Xavier immediately went into battle readiness. He wanted to use steam rules to launch an attack on Wu Chang, but when he reached out, he found himself empty inside, unable to feel any power.

He hurriedly took off his robe, discovering not only the disappearance of his abilities but also the extraordinary modification traces on his body had vanished.

He fumbled his way through his flesh and blood body, his face full of terror.

Where is my Extraordinary Power, where is my enormous Extraordinary Power!

Racing down the path of transcendence, barely reaching the end of transcendence, stepping into the realm belonging to God, only to find that everything was a dream, instantly dissipated, anyone would find it unbearable.

Wu Chang coughed lightly, transforming into a relentless speech robot, using a precise and clear broadcasting tone, he said to Xavier:

”No need to search, this is the Holy Land of Stilan. In the name of an Imperial Guardian, I challenge you to a Glory Duel.”

”In the Holy Land, all of your Extraordinary Abilities and mine are forbidden from use. The only reliance is on your body, skills, and faith.”

”You can use faith to coalesce into a weapon, and have a completely fair duel with me.”

If possible, he didn’t want to explain to Xavier, but constrained by the Holy Land rules, in order to demonstrate the fairness of the duel, he had to inform his opponent of all the rules of the Glory Duel.

Even though Xavier was knowledgeable, he momentarily couldn’t react to what happened, and asked:

”What method did you use to bring me here?”

Since this matter concerns the duel, Wu Chang could only truthfully inform.

He raised the Lake Light Holy Sword in his hand to indicate:

”This Lake Light Holy Sword symbolizes purity, honor, and perfection, and is also a sacred object for protecting the Empire’s order.”

”Whenever there is a villain trying to destroy the Empire, as an Imperial Guardian, I can challenge the villain to a duel. If it’s hard for you to understand, let me remind you, the villain mentioned here is you.”

「Special Skills: Sword of Order」（King’s Badge Unlock）

「Skill Description: Lake Light Holy Sword bearer carries the responsibility of maintaining order in the world. When the target severely disrupts plane order, will ignore the opponent’s abilities and status, and engage in a knightly Glory Duel with them. Cooldown: 365 days.」

「Glory Duel: Both combatants will disable all Talents, Active Skills, Cultivation Techniques, and Items, using faith as a weapon, to have a fair duel.」

「Note: This effect only functions on ”Arid—Plane 46957.”」

With Wu Chang’s explanation, Xavier was somewhat understanding of the current situation, but there was something he didn’t comprehend, he asked:

”Don’t you claim this is a fair duel? Why am I empty-handed while you’re holding a Holy Sword? Is this what you call fairness?”

Wu Chang scratched his head awkwardly and said: ”Sorry, I’m a Violator, fairness doesn’t apply to me.”

Xavier: ?

Wu Chang wasn’t lying, because in a Glory Duel only Talents, Active Skills, Cultivation Techniques, and Items are forbidden, not Titles.

His 「Violator」 Title, although it couldn’t remove all restrictions, allowed him to bring the Lake Light Holy Sword into the Holy Land.

Honestly, Wu Chang didn’t understand what Xavier was unhappy about. As a Violator, only randomly bringing in the Lake Light Holy Sword should make Xavier laugh secretly.

If he brought in the ”Peace Envoy” from his personal space, Xavier would really suffer.

Wu Chang said: ”Because it’s a fair duel, it must officially start after both agree or ten minutes after meeting.”

”Mr. Xavier, you have plenty of preparation time, please go ahead.”

Xavier’s eye twitched slightly. He was now a bit sensitive to the word fairness.

However, the rules of the Holy Land were telling him that Wu Chang was speaking the truth, and he could prepare confidently without worrying about being ambushed during preparation time.

He pondered over the rules Wu Chang mentioned earlier, using faith as a weapon, engaging in the Glory Duel.

In terms of faith, he was confident he wouldn’t lose to anyone.

Since birth, he felt a certain sense of mission for which he fought his entire life. Regardless of how many failures or how many of his companions died or got injured, he never once gave up.

To touch the transcendence with human body, he willingly modified his own body, and was even willing to let someone else reach the pinnacle if it meant completing his mission.

Sadly, after all experiences, he was the only one who reached the final stretch.

This unyielding spirit and relentless faith he believed wouldn’t lose to anyone, especially the ordinary transcendent in front of him devoid of any faith.

As faith gathered, Xavier’s body started to transform, becoming muscular, his flesh glowed with metallic sheen.

From a frail old man with an unappealing appearance, he transformed into a twenty-year-old, with literal steel-like body.

The staff he often carried by his side was summoned with faith, he gripped the staff handle and pulled out the Raventon-style staff sword inside.

The sword of the staff was not an ordinary blade but a rapidly spinning miniature chainsaw, its teeth spinning and releasing copious steam.
