Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 799: Chapter 351: Rebuilding the Secret Magic Knight Order (2)

No amount of honor and integrity, a hundred old Andersons tied together, can compare to the perfect Saintess Erin.

His gaze was fixed on the Lake Light Holy Sword, not as a means to alleviate awkwardness, but because after extracting the Holy Sword, his King’s Badge reacted.

”Item Name: King’s Badge.”

”Item Description: The holder will gain the respect of the Kingdom Faction and the Secret Magic Knight Order Faction, and when acquiring related Kingdom items, there’s a chance to unlock an additional ability.”

With the King’s Badge activated, he saw an additional hidden skill on the Lake Light Holy Sword.

”Special Skill: Sword of Order” (unlocked by the King’s Badge)

”Skill Description: The holder of the Lake Light Holy Sword bears the responsibility of maintaining the order of the world. When the target severely disrupts the plane’s order, they will ignore any abilities and status of the target and engage in an honor duel of knights. Cooldown Time: 365 days.”

”Honor Duel: Both sides of the battle will disable all talents, active skills, cultivation techniques, and items, turning conviction into weapons for a fair duel.”

”Note: This effect is only effective on ’荒——46957 plane’.

Wu Chang’s attention was entirely drawn to the description of the ”Honor Duel”.

Literally, once entering the Honor Duel state, both sides need to set aside everything else, competing only on panel attributes and various passive skills, for a fair duel.

If he wasn’t mistaken, the range of disabling does not include title effects.

He really liked such a fair duel.

He wondered if this item skill was designed to make it easier for him to deal with Leman.

Wu Chang took a few more looks at the Lake Light Holy Sword, then returned it to the sheath, hanging it at his waist.

The Queen and Julie were still waiting, so once the important matters were discussed, he would have time to study it closely.

Seeing Wu Chang come to, Olivia reined in her doubt, showing a trusting smile on her face.

Although the Lake Light that Wu Chang consolidated seemed a bit thin, given the trackable achievements on his part, and with Olivia lacking viable personnel at the moment, she had to turn a blind eye.

She could only hope that Sean, the newly appointed leader of the Secret Magic Knight Order, could truly use his solid personal abilities to make up for his shortcomings in character and will.

Olivia continued:

”Sir Sean, Grimland is not only the center of the world’s economy and industry but also the center of all conspiracies.”

”The crisis hidden here is thicker than the long-lasting haze shrouding the skies. Though I trust your abilities, in Grimland, the power of one person is still too small to rely on.”

”To facilitate your actions, I restored the existence of the Secret Magic Knight Order and granted you the power to recruit members into the order.”

The Secret Magic Knight Order was essentially the King’s personal guard, an organization that only fought for the King.

The conduct and combat power of knights were very important, but even more crucial than these was their loyalty to the King, absolute loyalty.

In the past, for every member joining the Secret Magic Knight Order, they had to go through strict audits to ensure the members were noble offspring of clear lineage.

Each member’s entry into the Knight Order ultimately required the King’s personal approval, making entrance into the order very difficult.

But now, Olivia had completely delegated the power to rebuild the Secret Magic Knight Order to Wu Chang.

At the moment when Olivia announced her decision, a prompt appeared before Wu Chang.

”The player has been appointed by Queen Olivia as the leader of the Secret Magic Knight Order, gaining the power to recruit members and meeting the requirements to establish a faction.”

”Does the player choose to establish their own faction? Once established, the faction cannot be canceled, nor can the player rejoin other factions.”

Once a stranger, twice a friend.

Building a faction by himself, something other players would find utterly elusive, but he’d already been through it once and now wasn’t as surprised as the first time.

When he previously accepted Olivia’s appointment, he thought that in this scenario, he’d automatically join the Queen’s faction.

To his surprise, with Olivia’s decentralization of power, he can now choose to establish his own faction.

Yet, Wu Chang hesitated over whether to establish a faction.

This time around, the situation was different from the Silent Route.

The Silent Route’s multi-person competitive subordinate task was purely about who had the bigger fists; whoever controlled Star Jump could claim victory.

But for the Steam Phantom’s subordinate competition task, it was necessary to support one person within the faction to obtain the position of Prime Minister.

This was entirely different from Silent Route, where merely surpassing other factions wasn’t enough; he also needed to find a politician of sufficient weight, willing to collaborate with him, to propel them into the position.

More importantly, he was unsure if Queen Olivia’s faction was considered one of the selectable factions.

He was even more uncertain whether his separate faction could propose the same politician as the Queen’s faction and work in concert.

If he, as the Queen’s personal guard, supported a different candidate than the one chosen by the Queen, wouldn’t it directly provoke Olivia, causing her to remove his position, or even simply deem him a traitor?

After hesitating for a moment, he chose to establish an independent faction.

According to the memories he had inherited, Queen Olivia was only a nominal queen without real power.

Her power had long been hollowed out by the Prime Minister and the Parliament, except for the Holy Awakening Sect, there was nothing else she could play.

Having no faction nor manpower, if not for this, she wouldn’t have summoned him back from the New World across the ocean to rebuild the Secret Magic Knight Order.

Is it possible that in a vast Stilan, there wasn’t anyone able to assume the heavy responsibility of the Secret Magic Knight Order?

Of course not, it’s just that these talents only paid lip service to the Queen, leaning their allegiance towards other factions.
