Chapter 798: Chapter 351: Rebuilding the Secret Magic Knight Order

Facing the hidden quest, Wu Chang naturally had no reason to refuse. He immediately performed the knightly salute once more and said:

”I am willing to ease the burden for His Majesty, defend the interests of His Majesty and the Empire, and eliminate the cunning villains lurking in the shadows.”

Olivia heard Wu Chang’s vow, and a comforting smile appeared on her face as she said:

”Mr. Sean, your recognition by the leader of the Secret Magic Knight Order already shows that you have a heart as pure as gold.”

”With the Empire in peril, I knew you would not remain indifferent.”

She turned around to look at Julie, who retrieved a pure white Knight’s Longsword from the weapon display rack.

Seeing this, Wu Chang knew that Julie’s promise had arrived. He immediately, under Julie’s guidance, kneeled on one knee, placed his right hand on his chest, and lowered his gaze.

Olivia’s feet appeared in his sight, and then her voice followed from above.

”By the crown of the Stilan Empire and the authority of the Holy Initiation Cross, I now grant thee the position of ’Holy Secret Magic Knight’ according to the Holy Cross Covenant, and command thee to rebuild the Secret Magic Knight Order, and to restore the glory of the Empire.

May thou wield courage as thy sword and honor as thy shield, keeping darkness at bay from civilization.”

Olivia held the pure white Knight’s Longsword, lightly tapping it on Wu Chang’s right shoulder and left shoulder, then said:

”Arise, Sir Sean.”

”I am willing to become the blade of the Empire and fight for His Majesty.”

Wu Chang stood up and took the pure white Knight’s Longsword from Olivia’s hand.

”Item Name: Lake Light Holy Sword.”

”Item Type: Dungeon Items”

”Artifact Level: A.”

”Item Skills: Perfect Sword.”

”Skill Description: A Holy Sword blessed by the fairy of the lake protecting Stilan. As long as the origin within the Holy Sword is undamaged, its blade shall not be destroyed.”

”Item Skills: Lake Blessing”

”Skill Description: When fighting near water, the user’s Life Attribute increases by 50 points, Endurance Attribute doubles, Life recovery speed increases by 200%, damage increases by 20%, and immunity to mental abnormalities is granted.”

”Item Skills: Sword of Honor”

”Skill Description: A person of high moral character holding the Lake Light Holy Sword will trigger the special status ’Lake Light’; the higher the user’s moral character, the stronger the sense of honor, the more powerful the effect of Lake Light.”

”Lake Light: When attacking a target, it will weaken the target’s combat will and cause additional damage. The damage depends on the user’s Will Attribute.”

”Note: Only a perfect knight with high virtue is qualified to wield this sword.”

After Olivia handed the Lake Light Holy Sword to Wu Chang, she said:

”Sir Sean, this Lake Light Holy Sword has been passed down since the founding of Stilan, an artifact used by leaders of the Secret Magic Knight Order to fight evil.”

”When the Secret Magic Knight Order dissolved, the leader at the time returned the Holy Sword to the royal family. Now, it is time for it to return to the hands of the one most suited to wield it.”

Wu Chang caressed the pure white Holy Sword; he had to acknowledge, the Steam Phantom Dungeon Plane showed extraordinary generosity.

At the Moonlight Sanatorium, he had already come into contact with many dungeon items, and now entering the Steam Phantom Dungeon, he was given another A-Level Holy Sword right from the start.

Judging from the skill set of items, the Lake Light Holy Sword isn’t particularly strong among A-Level items. Apart from the Perfect Sword, its other skills have triggering conditions, not as good as some A-Level items he had obtained before.

But keep in mind, this A-Level artifact was given to Wu Chang freely by Olivia!

Even if this freely given A-Level artifact were to explode halfway through usage, Wu Chang would commend its perfect timing.

This point alone illustrates that Olivia is an excellent king who understands people.

He drew the Lake Light Holy Sword from its sheath, and Olivia said beside him:

”The Lake Light Holy Sword symbolizes purity, honor, and perfection. The knight’s honor will manifest as light, gathering at the blade, making darkness and evil retreat.”

”Legend has it that when the first leader of the Secret Magic Knight Order, old Anderson, drew the Lake Light Holy Sword, the light filled the entire Saint George’s Church, turning night into day.”

As Olivia explained, Wu Chang fully drew the Lake Light Holy Sword from its sheath; his inspiration told him that the sword was assessing him.

After a brief pause, the Lake Light Holy Sword entered the Lake Light state, the surface of the blade began to emit light.

The light initially floated on the surface, soon enveloping the whole sword, then expanded outward, extending half a meter from the sword, and froze there.

At this moment, Olivia happened to mention old Anderson drawing the Holy Sword, where the light filled the entire Saint George’s Church.

Wu Chang: ...

Olivia, Julie: ...

Olivia looked towards Julie; she remained silent but sent a silent inquiry through her gaze to Julie.

Are you sure this guy is really reliable?

Julie had no words in response, could only return a glance to Olivia.

Wu Chang’s character, honor, and combat will only sufficed to illuminate half a meter around him. Yet even so, he could still defeat Leman at the Moonlight Sanatorium, doesn’t this exactly prove his capability?

While Olivia and Julie exchanged glances, Wu Chang’s focus was entirely on the Lake Light Holy Sword.

The Lake Light he gathered, though small in range, was actually even smaller; the light on the sword shone half a meter only because his Will Attribute was so high that he forced the light outward.

The skill to gather Lake Light is named ”Sword of Honor,” and as an Abyssal Game player, he never cared about honor, only the results.

Honor doesn’t add attributes, so what’s the use of it?

Dying in battle for honor pales in comparison to destroying the opponent with ruthless efficiency.

However, he doesn’t care about the results of Lake Light; what meaning is there in comparing honor with him? If not for the fear of shocking Olivia and Julie, he’d hand the Lake Light Holy Sword to Erin, and the light on the sword would blind them.
