Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 765: Chapter 340: Divine Hall of Truth

Due to the recent attack by the Bright Society, everyone brought their guards up for the sudden gathering.

No one can guarantee if someone has defected to the Bright Society, planning to ambush everyone at once.

Therefore, Xu Dejun urgently set the meeting location in an absolute safe zone rarely seen in the Realm of Reason.

The rules of the absolute safe zone are similar to the Crimson Courtyard in the Desolate Realm, where players cannot harm each other and cannot block others’ actions.

Even if you encounter an enemy, you can leave through the safe zone’s teleport point without worrying about the Bright Society blocking the exits.

The advantage of meeting here is the lack of apprehensions; the disadvantage is the lack of concealment, identifiable by the Evolution Sect’s spies, and the consumption of the stay time in the safe zone.

Safe zones in the Realm of Reason differ from those in the Desolate Realm; each player can only stay there one day every fifteen days.

At other times, entering requires consuming a thousand Rotten Silver Coins, and each additional day doubles the consumption, with costs resetting monthly.

In the Desolate Realm, Rotten Silver Coins are a means to enhance cultivation techniques and buy items, but in the Realm of Reason, they also represent safety and life.

For every player in the Realm of Reason, the time spent in a safe zone is precious, and unless necessary, they won’t easily choose to stay in a safe zone.

Wu Chang removed the tracking coordinate above Xu Dejun’s head, allowing Xu Dejun to exit the combat state and open the system shop.

Xu Dejun rented a two-seater aircraft in the shop and called to Wu Chang:

”Come on up. The Realm of Reason isn’t like the Desolate Realm; it’s larger than the usual planes. We’re not close to the safe zone, and it’ll take some time to get there.”

As the aircraft traveled, the safe zone of the Realm of Reason’s Crimson Courtyard gradually appeared in Wu Chang’s view.

It was a city built from giant black and white stones, encompassed by high walls.

In the city’s center was a massive palace, reaching up to the sky; no matter where you were in the Realm of Reason’s Crimson Courtyard, you could see the palace by looking up.

The Crimson Courtyard spans four layers of the Abyss, with each layer having its own individual name.

When Wu Chang first entered the Desolate Realm’s Crimson Courtyard, he received official information mentioning the Desolate Realm’s Crimson Courtyard was called Mist Plaza.

The Crimson Courtyard in the Realm of Reason is named the Hall of Truth.

The Hall of Truth refers to the gigantic palace in the city’s center extending toward the skies.

The aircraft was still some distance away from the safe zone when the console displayed entry into the control zone and enforced speed limits.

The area of the control zone alone was no less than a medium-sized city.

Looking down, the so-called control zone appeared as a city’s ruins, spreading out radially with the safe zone at its center.

Recalling the wilderness along the way, with careful thought, one could find remnants of the city.

A bold idea surfaced in his mind, and he asked:

”Was the control zone, including the extensive wilderness ahead, all previously part of the Realm of Reason’s safe zone?”

Xu Dejun said, ”As expected of Lord Peace, your intuition is sharp. As you see, these places were all once safe zones, only they have all been eroded by the Abyss, turning into ruins.”

Seeing Wu Chang able to ask this question, Xu Dejun realized Wu Chang’s limited understanding of the Realm of Reason and elaborated.

”Lord Peace, any instance control loss of any level in the Desolate Realm will cause significant commotion in reality. Once an instance exceeds C-Level, the eroded area in reality will cover at least a city, which is impossible to hide from those with keen eyes.”

”In the Desolate Realm, C-Level instances are that formidable, but have you ever heard of instance control loss in the Realm of Reason eroding reality?”

Wu Chang shook his head, as he had long realized this issue.

It’s not just the scope of impact Xu Dejun mentioned; there is a dimensional barrier in reality preventing Realm of Reason players from returning to reality. Even those returning via the Pillar of the Present World cannot exceed Level 45.

Level 45 is enough to bully Desolate Realm players, but not enough against the Realm of Reason’s erosion dungeons.

Unless the instances in the Realm of Reason don’t lose control, the players’ strength in reality would be insufficient to withstand even one instance’s erosion, a catastrophe.

Xu Dejun continued:

”The biggest difference between the Realm of Reason and the Desolate Realm is here—the instances in the Realm of Reason also lose control, but when they do, they erode the safe zones in the Crimson Courtyard.”

Xu Dejun followed up on the topic, recounting the erosion dungeons in the Realm of Reason.

The former Realm of Reason was similar to the Desolate Realm, where all areas were safe zones.

Back then, even if Realm of Reason players couldn’t return to reality, they could live in the city without worry.

But as instances lost control repeatedly, the safe zones eroded continually in the instance’s erosion.

Initially, the reduction of safe zones didn’t affect players’ lives much, as the number of Realm of Reason players was fewer than those in the Desolate Realm, requiring less space.

Later, as the loss of safe zones increased, the Crimson Courtyard began restricting players’ stay in safe zones to encourage them to confront the Abyss erosion.

Yet, the difference between the Realm of Reason and the Desolate Realm is that players in the Realm of Reason only need to care for themselves.

Instance erosion impacts reality in the Desolate Realm, and its players need to rely on reality—for city or family protection, or through national or organizational requirements—to conquer erosion dungeons.

But in the Realm of Reason, everyone is only responsible for themselves. Even if all safe zones were eroded, it’s better than dying in a corner of an erosion dungeon for the survival space of other players.

Only those with utmost confidence in their abilities or a passionate spirit would undertake such high-risk, low-reward endeavors.
