Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 778: Chapter 344: He Yun’s Spiritual Ability Activation Surgery (Part 2)

Wu Chang, measuring others by oneself, was unsure if Erin was being sarcastic, so he put on a well-behaved demeanor and listened quietly from the side.

Erin sighed softly, looked gently at Wu Chang, and said:

”You rescued me from the ashes when I needed help the most, giving me a new life, and took me to see a world much broader than I ever imagined.”

”Every wonderful experience I’ve had as a human being has been with you, and every memory I recall carries your presence.”

”Though I’m a bit sad, what can I do about it.”

Wu Chang opened his mouth, the apology he had prepared with the All-Knowing Crystal was well memorized, yet now it seemed stuck, not a word could come out.

Erin said, ”You saved her from the loop of time, helped her correct serious mistakes she made, and brought back her only family member.”

”I believe back then, just like now, she probably thought of you as the irreplaceable person in her life.”

Wu Chang’s heart finally settled; it seemed he had passed this test.

Erin slightly shook her head and said:

”But in the future, I will always be by your side. If we meet someone who needs help again, I will step in to assist them on your behalf.”

Wu Chang didn’t speak, maintaining his look of obedient innocence.

The confession process seemed smooth, but in reality, he relied on Erin’s strong empathy and their relationship.

Though Erin expressed no complaints or anger, the pressure brought by guilt still left him a bit breathless.

He took a deep breath, rubbing his dumbly smiling face into stiffness, regardless of the process, the outcome was good.

He didn’t hide anything from either Erin or He Yun and didn’t abandon either side, achieving a hidden ending that only a violator could fulfill.

After Erin spoke her piece, she couldn’t help but ask:

”After talking with me, have you thought about how to explain it to her? If it’s hard for you, I can pretend...”

Wu Chang hugged Erin tightly, cutting off her words.

He couldn’t say any more, otherwise, his guilt would overflow.

He looked into Erin’s eyes and said, ”From the start, I never intended to hide your existence.”

He explained to Erin how He Yun knew about her and He Yun’s attitude.

Whatever Erin imagined, from her expression, it seemed she gained a bit more understanding of He Yun.

He shook his head, not daring to ask further, but since they came to this topic, he took the opportunity to tell Erin about He Yun’s plan.

Regarding the Power of Faith, Erin didn’t weigh it heavily and immediately agreed to He Yun’s plan.

In some perspectives, Erin was purer as a deity.

She didn’t view believers merely as tools to offer the Power of Faith; compared to harvesting faith, she preferred to shelter all believers, doing her utmost to help more people.

Upon hearing about the surface of the Underground Shelter Plane being dead, with people living in the eternally dark underground, her eyes filled with compassion and sadness.

Understanding that He Yun obtaining the Power of Faith could purify the surface and grant the shelter’s residents a clean world.

She even proactively suggested giving the Power of Faith from the Hymn Company Plane to He Yun, to help her complete the surface purification as soon as possible.

In her view, what He Yun was doing for the plane far exceeded her own contribution as a God, making He Yun more deserving of the believers’ faith energy.

Seeing this, Wu Chang couldn’t help but shake his head. Compared to the Great Saint Mother who ”created” Erin, Erin clearly lived up to the divine title of ”Great Saint Mother.”

Once they entered the Abyss Third Layer, he had to find the Great Saint Mother and see if he could reveal her divine title.

With preparations complete, he then held Erin’s hand, leading her into the Underground Shelter Plane.

The Hymn Company Plane, largely similar to the real world, was easy for Erin to accept.

However, the Underground Shelter Plane, also a Technology Plane, was much more novel.

As they walked through the streets of the Underground Shelter, Erin continuously observed her surroundings. From the massive sky simulating changes between day and night to the enormous city built underground, everything piqued her curiosity.

Wu Chang asked, ”How do you find it here?”

Erin pondered for a moment and said, ”Better than I expected, the underground environment hasn’t greatly affected people’s lives.”

”It’s evident that the city’s builders are striving to make life better for everyone.”

”Thanks for the compliment.” He Yun’s voice resonated from behind them. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

Wu Chang and Erin turned around, discovering that He Yun had appeared silently behind them, unnoticed by either.

After a brief surprise, they soon noticed something strange. He Yun looked almost indistinguishable from a real human, but on closer observation, her body seemed slightly unreal, with blurred edges and facial details.

Wu Chang asked, ”Holographic projection?”

He glanced around but found no sign of a projector. It was as if He Yun’s projection condensed from void into reality, appearing out of nowhere before them.

He Yun’s projection smiled and said:

”A special application of the Underground Shelter’s Energy network. All the free-floating energy in the shelter can be manipulated by me. Using it to directly attack is difficult, but forming simple holographic projections is not.”

He Yun extended her hand toward Erin and said, ”A pleasure to meet you, Eternal Pure Light, Ms. Erin.”

Erin reached out to shake He Yun’s hand, feeling a tangible solidity.

”Ms. He Yun, it’s a pleasure to meet you too.”

From Erin’s demeanor, He Yun detected that Wu Chang had truly informed her about everything.
