Death… And Me

Chapter 3552: Golden

Coming out of the Portrait, Rean explained to everyone what he saw. ”So, it also explains why no one knows exactly where this Celestial Supreme Palace is located. The portrait completely blocks off the outside from prying into the insides, so using the gate inside to find where this Celestial Supreme Palace is located is out of the question.”

”Let’s return to our Dimensional Realm and prepare,” Roan said, disappearing right after.

Back in the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, they reiterated their plans. ”So, Zangeshu will stay behind in the Dimensional Realm. The rest of us will enter it, and we will try to stick together. As for what we will do there, that’s up to each side.”

Elsie knew that her side was just her alone. She said before she had her own plans when she got to the Celestial Supreme Palace, and she hasn’t said what her plan was yet. ”Works for me. Just be aware that I might have to separate from you guys at some point.”

”It’s fine,” no one in the twins’ group minded it. First of all, they don’t even have an objective to achieve there. The System Quest only said they had to explore the Palace, nothing else.

As they discussed that, Roan used his connection with Rean to ask something else. ’Do you think your shifter device would work when we go to this Palace?’

Rean knew what Roan was talking about. He used that device to come out of the teleport before reaching his destination a hundred years ago. That’s how they got to the Center of the Divine Realm and avoided being captured at the teleport’s real exit location. ’Hard to say. First of all, the thing inside the portrait seems to be a kind of portal, not a teleportation. As you know, teleports, spatial gates, and portals are different. But then again, the system worked in the portal of the demon beasts back in the Lisan Universe, so it probably will work.’

Rean pondered a bit. ’Still, why would you want to change our arrival location? Just so you know, I can’t control our arrival point at all. All this device does is shift the connection with the destination, coming out of the journey somewhere along the way. If I mess up the timing, we might actually fall in the middle of nowhere, not knowing where we are or where we are going.’

Roan was satisfied with that. ’It’s fine. It’s just a contingency in case we need to use other portals or teleportations. Test it on the way to the Celestial Supreme Palace, but don’t activate it. Just check if it would work if you used it.’

’Alright,’ Rean accepted.

There wasn’t much to be discussed after that. They had years to do that before. Rean checked the Werdlem Network of this Universe, and as one could expect, it was on fire. The Divinity Realm experts who still hadn’t acquired a slot began to offer ridiculous rewards for just a single slot, not the portrait, and there were tens of thousands of them. Too bad Elsie was unwilling to risk trying to sell the slots again. Even some Starlight-related resources were available there.

Finally, the last day arrived, and the sound of bells coming from the portrait stopped. With that, the twins’ group exited the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm and took the portrait out. The portrait was now shining slightly with silver specs of light, which surprised the twins’ group a bit.

”This teleportation is going really, really far,” Kentucky, the best one at Spatial Powers in their group, commented. If the Dimensional Realm inside the portrait was supposed to be completely cut off, one could imagine how much Spatial Power was being manipulated inside for it to affect the outside like this.

”Let’s not waste time.” Roan didn’t dwell on that, immediately jumping inside the portrait.

Rean took one last look at his concealing formation. He fortified it in the last few days, and unless a Divine Realm Expert gets really close, no one would find it for the next several hundred years. Finally, he also jumped inside the portrait.

There, the gate was now complete, made of some material that Rean couldn’t recognize. He wanted very much to take a piece, but it wouldn’t be a good idea since the gate material seemed to be linked to the portal itself.

Kentucky looked at the portal and couldn’t help but swallow hard. ”It’s not silver...”

The insides of a Spatial Gate, as well as the gate itself, were usually silver. However, although the gate and the portal were silver, the insides were pitch black. Kentucky knew why, though. ”Shield yourselves as much as you can. This transfer will be very dangerous since our cultivations are suppressed to the Transition Realm.”

Indeed. Just as Zangeshu commented a few years ago, the suppression of cultivation was already active inside that tiny Dimensional Realm.

”You know this?” Elsie asked Kentucky.

Kentucky nodded, explaining. ”When a Spatial Gate, a Portal, or whatever type of Spatial Tunnel is used, it is usually silver and maybe a little hints of yellow due to Time Power. For it to get black, there is only one way, and that is when the place it is connected to is outside of the Universe you find yourself.”

”Outside of our Universe?!” Elsie was taken aback. As an expert of the Werdlem Empire, she obviously knew about the various Universes out there. Still, she never thought she would have the chance to leave her home Universe, at least not this early.

*Zum!*

Suddenly, a burst of Divine Origin Energy, Spatial Power, and Time Power came out of it. Everyone inside the portrait’s dimensional realm felt a powerful pull, and they were all dragged into the portal, disappearing inside.

*Ugh...*

Elsie was holding on tightly to the twins’ group. They had agreed that once they entered the portrait, they wouldn’t let go of each other, as there is always a chance of getting separated otherwise. Nonetheless, she understood why Kentucky said to shield for the transfer. Both Spatial and Time Powers were so powerful that they were trying to rip her core apart.

’Focus,’ Roan’s Divine Sense echoed in Elsie’s mind, ’You can control your laws, even with your cultivation suppressed. Just use your laws to shield yourself. You have Earth Laws on top of that, which should be even better for defense.’

Elsie heard that and quickly worked on it. Sure enough, her laws helped her keep her core safe, even though doing the same with her body projection was hard. It didn’t matter. As long as her core was intact, she could rebuild her body projection as many times as necessary.

She then looked at Rean and the others, and they were all silent. Above all, she could feel it. Rean, Roan, Kentucky, and Celis were using laws! ’So that’s why they said I didn’t need to worry about the laws... Still, how can they use laws if they haven’t reached the Space-Time yet?’ She found it hard to believe.

*Zin!*

Yet, her lack of attention allowed a Spatial Distortion to hit her core, causing quite some pain in her soul. That was more than a good enough warning. She put those thoughts away and focused completely on defending herself during that transfer.

The transfer took a very long time. Rean took that chance and tested his shifter device, confirming it would work if he wanted. Of course, he didn’t activate it and just put it away.

It wasn’t before well over fifty hours of constant movement through the fabric of space that their group finally felt a change.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

All of them appeared together in midair, or perhaps it was better to say in midspace. Right in front of them, a golden palace stretched as far as they could see, a gigantic golden door preventing them from seeing inside. On top of it, a monumental golden bell was easily discernible.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*

They weren’t the only ones. Countless experts appeared right, left, center, up, down, behind, and ahead. There was no doubt. That had to be the Celestial Supreme Palace.
