Death… And Me

Chapter 3541: Where?

”So... you don’t want to talk about it anymore? Who knows? Perhaps we might feel like giving you a hand and taking this tracker of yours out,” Rean threw the carrot.

Elsie narrowed her eyes, looking at them. Well, she was looking mostly at Rean and Roan. As for Kentucky and Celis, those two seemed somewhat puzzled about what the twins intended to do. ”Whatever... There is almost no time anymore, so I will be direct. The reason I was being pursued was because I hold one of the portraits for the Celestial Supreme Palace.”

*pin!*

Immediately, the system sound echoed in the twins’ minds.

[The Supreme Palace wasn’t the dominant force in the past, nor was Triaglia the Universe Owner. The reason the Camazotz Bats’ home is called Supreme Palace is mostly a reference to the real thing, the Celestial Supreme Palace.]

[The Celestial Supreme Palace was the main reason Triaglia became what she is today. This is no secret, and everyone wants nothing more than to give it a try as well. Unfortunately, no one knows where the Palace is located. All that is known is that it appears once every one hundred thousand years minimum and two hundred thousand years maximum. It’s always somewhere in between.]

[During such time, portraits materialize all over the Universe, each one of them connected to the Celestial Supreme Palace. For a hundred years, the experts of the Universe will get the chance to collect those portraits, which will be the key to accessing the Celestial Supreme Palace.]

[New Quest Available: Explore the Celestial Supreme Palace.]

Neither Rean nor Roan were surprised. That’s exactly why they came to Elsie Ranka and asked about the reason for her being pursued by such a huge amount of top experts of the Center of the Divine Realm.

Why did they do it? Because of what the System was about to say right after.

[Reward: 500 Celestial Points.]

And there you have it. That’s also why they didn’t want to get involved with Elsie from the get-go. They knew that the Destiny Attraction Skill was most likely why they got to meet her. It always led to something messy. It’s just that they couldn’t ignore the Sixth Stage of Weapon Intent. So... every time she tried to bring up whatever was the reason she was being pursued, they stopped her. If she didn’t speak, the system wouldn’t hear, and they wouldn’t get involved.

Too bad their cultivation speed fell to a turtle pace after the Starlight Stones ended. They need more Starlight Energy at all costs! The Clue to get more Starlight Energy costs them 247 Celestial Points... Where will they get those points? Well, the fastest way was to hear about Elsie’s situation. If there was a quest hidden behind her problems, it would definitely pop up when she started to talk about it... which it did.

Besides, this was something that started right after they arrived at the Center of the Divine Realm. Sure whatever quest that appeared in this place would give quite a good amount of Celestial Points. They just didn’t expect it would be 500 points at once. A 100 points would have already been a good start.

But then again, hearing that it was something related to the Universe Owner made sense for the huge reward. Perhaps it was actually pretty small that reward, considering the contents.

”Did she just say Celestial Supreme Palace?!”

A voice echoed in the surroundings, and Rifindio appeared there as well.

”Oh, you are back already?” Rean looked at Rifindio there. ”Peak Stage Elemental Space Realm. Not bad, not bad... At this point, you will start to get involved with laws, so how are you feeling?”

”I just had a breakthrough a year ago, so I haven’t cultivated this stage completely yet; I’m quite far,” Rifindio explained with a calm voice. Yet, the satisfaction on his face was quite obvious. ”But I am starting to feel the presence of laws, although I can’t touch them yet. It should be during the breakthrough that it happens, right?”

”For most experts, yes,” Kentucky confirmed. He obviously didn’t include himself, Celis, Rean, and Roan, who were able to touch them slightly earlier... but they were far from the norm, after all. He then changed to Divine Sense Message. ’I can see that my bloodline has integrated even better with yours during this time, and the concentration is pretty good. I doubt your bloodline at the moment is worse than any genius of your Supreme Palace.’

Rifindio was aware of that. ’Yes, thank you, Master.’ The fact that Rifindio was a Camazotz Bat was a secret, so they couldn’t let Elsie hear it.

But then, he remembered why he appeared here. ”No, wait! That’s not it! She talked about the Celestial Supreme Palace, didn’t she? Is it true? Is it about to appear again?”

”Have you heard about it?” Celis and Kentucky asked. They might be connected to Rean and Roan through the system, but they still couldn’t hear it when the system gave new quests.

”Of course!” Rifindio’s eyes lit up. Then, he proceeded to say exactly the same thing as the system told the twins, but without mentioning his relation to the Supreme Palace in front of Elsie. ”So you see? That’s a huge opportunity for most Divinity Realm Experts. You could even say that’s perhaps their best chance at reaching the Celestial Realm, just like Triaglia did. No wonder she was being pursued with such fervor back then.”

Elsie was quite surprised there. The fact that Rifindio had to explain everything meant... ”Wait, could it be you guys didn’t even know about the Celestial Supreme Palace? How’s that possible?”

Rean shrugged. ”Hey, it only appears once every one to two hundred thousand years, doesn’t it? Perhaps we simply never paid attention to it. First of all, with our cultivation before, it wouldn’t be much of use knowing about it anyway.”

”I guess...” Elsie wasn’t entirely convinced but decided not to press the issue.

Roan understood another point, though. ”We kept you inside our Dimensional Realm for 91 years, so that explains why you had always been in a hurry. From what our friend here said, the portraits appear all over the Universe for a hundred years. Then, what happens after it? You just use the portrait to teleport to this Palace or whatever? First of all, why would you even mention it to us? Shouldn’t you have kept your mouth shut about such a huge treasure?”

”I’ll answer your second question first. If I didn’t tell you about the Celestial Supreme Palace, you wouldn’t get the tracker removed from me, right? Then, if I lose the chance when the one-hundred-year mark passes... Well, I obviously wouldn’t want such a thing. Thus, the best way to convince you to help me is to tell the truth from the start. Besides...” Elsie looked at Rifindio, who understood what she wanted to say.

”Each portrait allows for the entrance of ten experts. Simply put, she wants to have her tracker removed, and she will share the slots with us in exchange,” Rifindio spoke. ”Am I correct?”

”100%!” Elsie nodded and continued. ”Now, answering your first question from before, the portraits will point out where the Celestial Supreme Palace will appear. Naturally, we will need to be in the outside world to see it... and I can’t have the tracker on me at that point. So, how is it? Would you take the deal?”

”Hum...” The twins would obviously take it, but they had more to say. ”That explains why you were being pursued, but those experts did their best not to kill you. If this portrait was inside your Pocket Dimensional Realm, it would disappear with your death. If it wasn’t, they had to get the information about where you hid it.”

”Regardless of which answer is right, one thing is bothering me,” Roan narrowed his eyes. ”Just where the hell did you acquire this thing?”
