The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

192: Chapter 192 The Calamity of ImprisonmentMingquan Shijia Villa Complex.

Villa No. 12.

Han Jingyang, Liu Jing, and Ye Fei stood at the entrance of the villa.

Han Jingyang took a deep breath. ”Is this a job you took on yourself?”

Ye Fei shook his head. ”It was introduced by a previous employer.”

”That employer... are they reliable?”

”Quite reliable. Why?” Ye Fei’s expression changed. ”This place isn’t like Jinding No. 1, is it?”

”It’s different, but it’s not great either. Is this still a new development?”

”Yes, it’s new, still a shell house. The employer bought it directly from the developer for over 4.6 million, and they just got it a few days ago,” Ye Fei said, then asked cautiously, ”Boss Han, is the situation very serious?”

Han Jingyang shook his head. ”I wouldn’t say it’s extremely serious, but you’re quite unlucky to take on such bizarre jobs twice in a row.”

As he spoke, he walked inside, casually asking, ”How’s things at Jinding No. 1? Did you pay the liquidated damages?”

Ye Fei shook his head. ”No, we’ve been arguing back and forth, but they haven’t contacted me for two days. They probably plan to enter the litigation phase.”

Han Jingyang glanced at the top of Ye Fei’s head. ”Litigation? Doesn’t look like it.”

”What do you mean?”

”You won’t have any legal disputes for a while.”

”Huh? Boss Han, you know how to read faces too?”

”A little bit.”

Ye Fei gave a thumbs up. ”Boss Han, you really are multi-talented.”

But he soon frowned. ”But if he’s not contacting me and not suing me, what is he trying to do? He wouldn’t be planning some dirty trick, would he?”

Han Jingyang shook his head and said to Ye Fei, ”There’s a major problem with the Feng Shui of this villa; it needs adjustment. Tell the landlord that for five hundred thousand, I’ll fix it for him.”

”Five hundred thousand?”

”Yes, and that’s already a friendship price for your sake. Otherwise, it would be at least eight hundred thousand.”

”Alright,” Ye Fei contacted and spoke with the landlord on the spot.

But clearly, the outcome was not optimistic. Ye Fei hung up and said with a bitter smile, ”The landlord thinks I’m extorting him. He gave me a tongue-lashing and said if I can do the job, do it; if not, I can get lost.”

Han Jingyang raised an eyebrow. ”Doesn’t he believe in Feng Shui quite a bit? He specifically told you to find a Feng Shui Master to work on the blueprints together. Why the change in attitude? Even if he thinks it’s expensive, there’s no need for such harsh words.”

”I don’t know,” Ye Fei shrugged. ”Boss Han, what should I do?”

”What do you mean ’what should I do’? Continue working, of course. For ten thousand yuan, I’ll do ten thousand yuan worth of work. I’ll help you with a design to ensure the internal Feng Shui structure of the house is fine. As for the rest, let it be.”

”Will it affect the construction?”

”No.”

”That’s good,” Ye Fei breathed a sigh of relief, but his expression remained unhappy. ”I don’t know what this landlord is thinking. Boss Han, I’ll try to persuade him again during construction; maybe it’ll help.”

”As you wish,” Han Jingyang nodded. Just as he was about to tell Ye Fei some precautions, he saw a wisp of blue-black aura suddenly emerge from the top of Ye Fei’s head, and it grew more and more visible to the naked eye.

What’s going on?

The calamity of imprisonment?

A disaster related to interrogation?

Could it be that something went wrong with Ye Fei’s project?

Han Jingyang looked Ye Fei up and down. ”You’re in trouble.”

”What do you mean?”

”Literally. I’m afraid you might even go to prison. You should prepare early.”

”Ah?”

”It looks quite critical; it’s definitely no small matter.”

Ye Fei panicked instantly. He had witnessed Han Jingyang’s abilities firsthand and knew his character; he knew Han Jingyang would never talk nonsense.

But encountering this for the first time, he couldn’t think of a countermeasure. In his panic, he grabbed Han Jingyang’s arm. ”Boss Han, save me.”

Han Jingyang sighed. ”I’m just a Feng Shui Master, not a god. If you’ve truly committed a crime and someone has evidence, it won’t matter even if your ancestral grave is smoking with luck. Feng Shui is always just a supplement; its effect is very limited against this kind of external calamity.”

”Then... then what should I do?”

”If I were you, I’d quickly arrange your family and company affairs. At the same time, check where the problem lies. If you can find the root cause, there might still be a turning point.”

Ye Fei slapped his forehead. ”Thank you, thank you. I’ll head back first. Wait... wait for me to come back and thank you properly.”

With that, he quickly drove away.

After Ye Fei left, Liu Jing finally reacted. ”How can he be so unlucky? Is it a bad year for him?”

Han Jingyang nodded slightly. ”His fortune is indeed quite poor, but fortunately, his wealth luck is good. It seems the problem isn’t too big; at least it won’t affect his ability to make money.”

”That’s good then,” Liu Jing sighed in relief. ”Boss, what’s wrong with this villa?”

”Do you sense anything?”

”No.”

”Try to sense it. Face that flowerbed in the front yard.”

Liu Jing closed her eyes and tried hard to sense it. After a moment, she opened her eyes and said in surprise, ”I have a vague sensation. It feels very uncomfortable. It must be that evil yin energy you often talk about, right?”

”Yes.”

”Is there something there?”

”I’m not sure, but there’s a high probability.”

Liu Jing thought of a possibility and startled herself. ”Holy crap, it couldn’t be real, could it?”

Han Jingyang sighed. ”What do you think?”

”Then... then what do we do? Call the police?”

”What would we tell the police? Besides, I can’t be sure; it’s just a guess,” Han Jingyang shrugged. ”Moreover, this is someone else’s home. We can’t just make decisions for them. What if what we dig up isn’t what we think it is, but something else? Or worse, what if it’s a trap set by someone?”

”A trap? Set by who?”

”A contractor.”

”Huh?”

”Do you know about the ’Book of Lu Ban’?”

”I do. It’s also about metaphysics.”

”Right. But the original intent behind its creation was for carpenters to protect themselves from employers who wouldn’t pay after the work was done. It’s very practical, but also very malicious.”

Liu Jing understood immediately. ”Boss, you mean the developer of this complex might owe the contractor money, so the contractor set a trap here to blackmail the developer?”

Han Jingyang nodded while observing the surroundings. ”It’s a possibility.”

”But if it really takes effect, won’t the owner be the unlucky one? To let the owner suffer because of a dispute between the contractor and the developer? That... that’s too unreasonable!”

”For such a large project, the construction costs can easily reach tens of millions. No one dares to be soft-hearted. Faced with a developer, a contractor basically has to resort to life-threatening tactics. It’s all death anyway; to a contractor, there’s not much difference between someone else dying or themselves dying. Of course, this method is indeed vicious.”

”They deserve to die, all of them.”

”It’s just one possibility, though,” Han Jingyang said, leading Liu Jing around the complex before leaving.

Just as they stepped out, he received a call from Ye Fei. ”Boss Han, save me! Something happened at Jinding Complex. Wang Xiaoyong died a horrible death inside the villa. Now the police suspect I’m the murderer because my last communication with him was in that villa. But I’m certain he was still alive when I left. Yet the preliminary autopsy results say he died the day before we spoke! Boss Han, you know the situation with that villa. Save me!”
