The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

173: Chapter 173 Model FamilyEntering the shop.

Wang Zhiwei stretched comfortably. ”Brother, your place is truly comfortable; it’s on par with the legendary blessed lands.”

Xu Xin nodded in agreement. ”Indeed, this is exactly what a true top-tier Feng Shui Master should look like. I’ve met many Feng Shui Masters who talk a big game, but live in places no better than dog kennels. How can anyone trust people like that?”

Wang Zhiwei sighed. ”I’ve heard that those in this profession suffer from the ’Five Plagues and Three Shortages’? Is that true or false?”

”False. It’s all stuff made up by modern people. To put it bluntly, it’s just a cover for those con artists to hide their own incompetence. When they can’t make money or find a wife, they insist on calling it a defect of their cultivation. As for physical disabilities, that goes without saying; it’s common for them to get beaten by employers when things go wrong. Plus, they have to compete with peers, and the methods can be ruthless. Even those with the toughest fates can’t avoid being left maimed.”

”Then this... couldn’t it also be explained by Heaven’s Mandate? If I’m crippled, I can just say it’s an unavoidable Heaven’s Mandate, and others wouldn’t be able to refute it, right?”

”If an ordinary person says that, it’s indeed hard to refute. But if a professional says it, they’re just making a laughingstock of themselves. They spend every day resolving disasters for others, yet are powerless against their own. Nothing such a person says can be trusted. Even if they claim they’re a celestial being reincarnated and were crippled by an enemy’s sneak attack, it doesn’t matter; it’s simply unbelievable.”

Wang Zhiwei looked at Han Jingyang.

Han Jingyang spread his hands. ”Why are you looking at me? I don’t understand divination or fortune-telling. I only know how to deal with dharma instruments; without them, I’m nothing.”

Xu Xin shook his head. ”Brother, you are truly too humble. If anyone else had your skills, they would have already soared to success and become a world-renowned master.”

Wang Zhiwei picked up the conversation. ”What do you mean? I don’t think Brother is low-key in how he does things. It’s just that he hasn’t been in the industry long enough to make a name for himself yet.”

Xu Xin looked outside the door and said softly, ”A few days ago in Dongpo Village, experts from the Capital were investigating a case. Brother Han saw at a glance that they had a Blood-Light Calamity and warned them, but those people wouldn’t listen or believe him. In the end, they were nearly wiped out. At the critical moment, it was Brother Han who stepped in personally to resolve the matter; otherwise, it wouldn’t have ended well.”

Wang Zhiwei was dumbfounded upon hearing this. A moment later, he gave Han Jingyang a thumbs-up. ”I almost believed your nonsense earlier, Brother. ’I don’t understand fortune-telling or physiognomy, I only deal in dharma instruments’—clearly, you’re all-powerful, aren’t you?”

Han Jingyang waved his hand. ”That doesn’t count.”

”What do you mean it doesn’t count? You’re just being humble, Brother. I don’t know much about other principles, but when even people from the Capital couldn’t see the problem, yet you could see it at a glance, what does that mean? It means you are more capable than the people from the Capital. Yeah, knowing you’re better than the experts from the Capital is enough.”

Han Jingyang was speechless.

That also made sense.

There’s no need to know how capable I am; I just need to know who I’m more capable than.

Sit down, drink tea.

After three rounds of tea, Xu Xin stated his purpose. ”Brother, this isn’t about me this time; it’s about a friend of mine. I wanted to trouble you for a favor.”

”What is it?”

”My friend is preparing for his mother’s funeral and wants to find a good spot to build a yin dwelling, but he hasn’t been able to find a reliable Feng Shui Master. Since he heard your name, he asked me to come and ask.”

”You know the rules.”

”Yes, the appearance fee is 100,000 yuan, with other expenses calculated separately. If you’re not busy, Brother, and are willing to take on this small job, just name your price. I’ll pass the message to him. If he has no objections, I’ll bridge the connection; if he’s unwilling, then nothing more need be said. But don’t worry, Brother, my friend is wealthy, likes metaphysics, believes in Feng Shui, and is willing to spend money on this. Feel free to set the price a bit higher.”

Selecting a burial site for a yin dwelling?

Han Jingyang sighed. ”Old Xu, actually, I’m not very keen on taking jobs like this, but since you’ve asked, I definitely have to give you face.”

He paused here. ”How about this: within the Quancheng jurisdiction, 500,000; within the province, 800,000; outside the province, 1,000,000.”

”He’s also from Quancheng, doesn’t live far away.”

”Then 500,000. If it works, it works; if not, forget it.”

Xu Xin nodded and sent a message on the spot.

After receiving a reply, he said to Han Jingyang, ”Brother, he has no objections. When do you think...”

”Tomorrow, then. Are you going?”

”I’ll go together.”

”Alright, let’s meet at eight o’clock tomorrow morning.”

The main business was settled.

The rest was just small talk. Anyway, when men get together, the topics are always much the same, except Han Jingyang remained the center of the three of them throughout.

What is this?

This is a symbol of status.

In the past, as a small, ordinary antique shop owner just starting out, he wouldn’t have even been able to get a word in before people like Wang Zhiwei and Xu Xin.

The 25th.

Sunny.

It was only eight o’clock, and Quancheng was already very hot, feeling like a sauna; just eating breakfast left one soaked in sweat.

Han Jingyang and Liu Jing met up with Xu Xin and Wang Zhiwei, and they headed to Xu Xin’s friend’s house together.

On the way, Xu Xin briefly explained his friend’s situation.

Liu Qing was also a martial artist, practiced Bagua, was over fifty, a local of Quancheng, and worked in real estate. He had considerable wealth but was righteous, and was obsessed with metaphysics. He had sought masters to calculate everything for his home, company, and the properties he developed. Over the years, he had spent tens of millions on Feng Shui.

It was unclear whether it was because Feng Shui was truly effective or if Liu Qing’s family knew how to maintain their health, but the whole family was healthy and safe. His father, at 102 years old, still enjoyed whatever he ate, and his mother, at 104, had no major ailments, though her body was indeed aged.

Liu Qing’s siblings were also all living in harmony with successful careers.

Liu Qing’s son and daughter were even more impressive. One graduated from China Agricultural University and was retained to teach, having already obtained a professorship at a young age; the other graduated from Tsinghua and was doing research at a scientific research institution. Moreover, they had both married early and had their own children, who were all bright and clever.

To put it simply, Liu Qing’s entire family was the object of envy for other families.

It was too perfect.

They had money when they wanted money.

They had happiness when they wanted happiness.

They had longevity when they wanted longevity.

They had education when they wanted education.

Fortune, status, longevity, joy, and happiness—all five blessings were complete.

Although it was only four generations living under one roof, it was enough to make 99.99% of families in the world envious.

Even Han Jingyang found it incredible upon hearing this.

Because it was too perfect.

But he wasn’t envious.

Fortune, status, longevity, joy, and happiness—I will have them all, and my family will have them all too.

As long as I have enough props, the Feng Shui formations I set up will become increasingly powerful. With the support of various attributes and skills, even an ordinary family will gradually grow into a model family that everyone envies.

Eight forty.

Han Jingyang and his party arrived at their destination, Xiaohe Village, in front of Liu Qing’s villa.

When they arrived, several members of Liu Qing’s family were already waiting at the door, including the old man and the old lady.

Xu Xin quickly jumped out of the car and ran to the old man and old lady. ”Uncle, Auntie, why did you come out? It’s such a hot day, hurry back inside.”

He then said to a middle-aged man with a square face wearing gold-rimmed glasses, ”You’re being reckless too.”

The old man, who was pushing the old lady, waved his hand. ”What’s a little heat? Besides, not coming out personally to invite the Master was already a breach of etiquette; isn’t it only right to welcome him at the door?”
