The Feng Shui Treasure Appraiser

152: Chapter 152 Bug DetectionNo.

Of course, he couldn’t appraise it right now.

As long as he was certain this wooden figurine could also be appraised, that was enough.

Originally, his only target was the bronze tripod.

Now that there was an additional figurine, it was a double blessing.

It was a pity he couldn’t get his hands on it just yet.

However, there was no rush.

A good meal is worth the wait.

Han Jingyang examined them properly before handing them back to Zhou Jianjun. ”There’s no problem with the items. The tripod is an antique, but the figurine isn’t of much use—it’s worth maybe three to five hundred yuan.”

Zhou Jianjun was stunned. ”Little Master Han also knows how to appraise antiques?”

”I majored in archaeology, and I even ran an antique shop for a while after graduation, so I have a bit of an eye for it.”

”Then, exactly which era is this tripod from?”

”I can’t say for sure, only that it’s an old piece and in good condition,” Han Jingyang said, deliberately showing a look of hesitation.

Zhou Jianjun understood immediately. ”Little Master Han, if you have something to say, just say it. Our villagers are united.”

”Let’s put it this way: according to the law, this tripod cannot be traded.”

”It’s illegal?”

”Yes, illegal. If you’re caught, it’s a minimum of three years in prison.”

Zhou Jianjun and the villagers frowned upon hearing this.

A minimum of three years?

How were they supposed to deal with it then?

They were all counting on this little gadget to make some extra cash, but it turned out it couldn’t be bought or sold?

There was even a risk of going to jail?

Was all that effort for nothing?

However, Zhou Jianjun was no ordinary person. He quickly figured out the logic and nodded slightly. ”Alright, I understand. I’ll keep it safe. If it really comes down to it, I’ll find a museum to donate it to.”

At this point, Zhou Jianjun put the bronze tripod away and handed the figurine to Han Jingyang. ”Little Master Han, this is for you.”

”This...”

”Don’t worry, I can make the call on such a small matter.”

Han Jingyang turned to look at the villagers.

A middle-aged man said with a chuckle, ”Little Master Han, just take it. It’s a broken wooden figure, not worth much.”

”Exactly. I wouldn’t even want that thing if it were given to me; it looks creepy.”

”Only a professional like you can subdue this kind of messy stuff.”

”I’ve seen it; it’s made of peach wood. Even if it’s a bit old, it’s not worth much. I just hope you don’t find it beneath you, Little Master Han.”

Hearing this, Han Jingyang cupped his hands. ”Thank you, thank you everyone. To be honest, while this little thing isn’t worth much, it’s still of some use in my hands. However, I won’t take advantage of you all. I’ll find a way to adjust your Feng Shui. Your village is good in every way, except that the village entrance is a bit leaky. I’ll patch it up later. Combined with the new buildings by the reservoir, it’ll definitely take Dongpo Village’s Feng Shui up another level.”

Before he had even finished speaking, someone clapped. ”Good!”

”Little Master Han is righteous!”

”Generous!”

”He’s not like those people who just play tricks and pretend to be ghosts.”

”It has to be the young people.”

”By comparison, what a piece of work Wang Jinliang is. He knows everything but says nothing. Pui!”

”Exactly, exactly...”

Han Jingyang directed the villagers to dismantle and fill in the foundation of the Octagonal Building before heading back.

On the way back, he received a warm reception.

Many people invited him for breakfast.

Some also asked for his prices, wanting him to check the Feng Shui of their homes.

There were even some who wanted to get his services for free.

But everyone’s attitude was decent and reasonable; he didn’t encounter any of those pestering rogues.

Back at the agritainment resort, he received an even warmer welcome from Wang Yan, who had prepared a sumptuous breakfast before dawn.

After he had eaten and drunk his fill, Wang Yan carefully asked, ”Master Han, could you take a look at the Feng Shui here for me?”

Han Jingyang said casually, ”It’s quite good, no need for adjustments.”

”Really?”

”Yes. In most cases, the influence of Feng Shui can be said to be negligible; you can’t perceive or manifest the good or bad, so there’s no need for special adjustments. If you want to use Feng Shui to change your fortune or health, a typical Feng Shui Master can’t do it, and ordinary adjustments won’t work either. It would cost a lot of money.”

”How much?”

”For me, it starts at seven figures.”

Wang Yan grit his teeth. ”Can it strengthen wealth luck?”

”It can.”

”One million is enough?”

”Yes, but the magnitude of the enhancement is limited, and I rely quite heavily on various dharma instruments. So, one million is the starting price. If we’re getting serious, two or three million, even five or six million is possible.”

Wang Yan then forced a magnanimous smile. ”It seems my idea of exploiting a bug to make money with money won’t be realized.”

Han Jingyang didn’t say anything.

But in his heart, he quite agreed.

Using a wealth-attracting Feng Shui layout to make money, then letting that money make more money, and then using that earned money to set up an even better Feng Shui layout.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with this line of thinking.

Exploiting a bug?

The world itself was one big bug. The rich getting richer was also a law of society.

Even without the help of a Feng Shui layout, wealthy people had plenty of ways to make money beget money.

The methods the rich used were even more unreasonable and irrational than Feng Shui layouts, and they earned far more.

So, there was really no need to feel embarrassed about exploiting a bug, because most wealthy people were doing it.

Some exploited bugs in the rules.

Some exploited bugs in human nature.

And some people were bugs themselves.

Therefore, Han Jingyang had no intention of hiding his abilities after obtaining his golden finger. Compared to those influential figures with immense power, his little tricks were nothing at all.

After breakfast.

He took a short nap in the morning to catch up on sleep.

In the afternoon, Zhou Jianjun and a few other old men came to his door. ”Little Master Han, you said the village entrance is a bit leaky. How do we fix it?”

Han Jingyang was as good as his word. He led the group to the village entrance and pointed at both sides of the road. ”Look here. There isn’t even a gatekeeper; it’s completely bare. The visibility is good, but the ’wind’ leaks out just as fast.”

”Then what should we do? Plant trees? Or build something?”

”Yes, planting trees is the best way. Directly transplanting large trees is not only good but also shows results quickly. I’ll mark the spots for you. When the time comes, just plant them there. If any don’t survive, replace them immediately.”

”Alright, you tell us, and we’ll remember.”

Han Jingyang didn’t do anything too mysterious. He simply measured out a few paces and chose nine spots.

Zhou Jianjun was a bit worried. ”Are there requirements for the tree species? If they’re too precious, the village might not be able to afford them. Mature live trees are really not cheap, and transportation and planting cost a lot too. They’re completely different from small saplings.”

”As long as their lifespan is long enough. camphor trees, Chinese scholar trees, or elms are all fine.”

”Would poplars work?”

”poplars are a bit lacking; they can’t anchor the Feng Shui. Only large groves of poplars are barely usable. Use camphor or scholar trees on these nine spots, and you can plant some poplars around them. poplars grow fast and will form a grove in a few years. It’s quite good to use them in combination.”

”Good, good. As long as they don’t have to be too precious, otherwise the village really couldn’t afford it.”

Han Jingyang looked around and marked another area. ”Build a low wall here, facing the oncoming road, and write the village name on it. It can block incoming malevolent energy.”

”What about the dimensions?”

”The dimensions don’t need to be too strict. It’s best if the village name can be seen clearly from that intersection.”

”What color should we use?”

”Red. Blue bricks with red characters. There’s no need for overly complex designs or combinations.”

”Are there any other precautions?”

Han Jingyang shook his head and strolled over to a large stone lion by the water. ”Is this the village’s?”

Zhou Jianjun nodded quickly. ”Yes, yes. It’s quite old, but it’s badly damaged and no one has fixed it up, so it’s just been left here.”

”It’s a treasure.”

”Really?”

”When the time comes, place it next to the completed low wall. The effect of blocking malevolent energy will be even better.”
