Chapter 1040: Chapter 1039: If You Want Dignity, Go Get It Yourself

”I wouldn’t dare! You are the War God, and we are but soldiers; how could we possibly question you?” Xiao Long said.

Though he said that, the dissatisfaction in his eyes was quite evident.

The expressions of those behind him were the same.

”Being third from the bottom isn’t much, after all, our Demon City War Department’s standard team is always third from the bottom every year!”

”Moreover, we’ve changed War Gods, so even if we drop to third from the bottom, I believe others would understand our...”

”...”

Listening to the Qilin Special Combat Team, Lin Dong felt quite disappointed with these people.

He waved his hand dismissively and said, ”So be it, if you think I am incapable of instructing you. Then, find yourselves another instructor!”

”My main focus this time is the regular special operations team!”

In his eyes, this was an experiment.

If the regular special operations team could persevere through training in Lin Dong’s way and achieve substantial improvement,

his Body Refining Method could then be promoted throughout the War Department.

As such, the strength of the standard special operations team would see a significant overall increase.

As for elite special operation teams like the Qilin Special Combat Team, in Lin Dong’s view, the most important thing for them was still their foundational training.

Solidifying their foundation was the most crucial for them.

As for enhancing their martial arts strength, even if Lin Dong was incredibly skilled, what he could achieve in a month would be negligible.

The Body Refining Technique was an excellent way for them to solidify their foundations. But now, since they were unwilling to cultivate it, there was nothing Lin Dong could do.

Upon hearing Lin Dong would not be instructing the Qilin Special Combat Team, Zhao Feiying hurriedly chastised Xiao Long and the others:

”You little runts? Are you trying to revolt?”

”If you don’t let the acting War God be your instructor, who else in the War Department could lead you?”

”I definitely don’t have that strength!”

Zhao Feiying clearly felt helpless; he could manage leading a regular special operations team, but not the Qilin Special Combat Team.

At that moment, the captain of the Qilin Special Combat Team, Xiao Long, said, ”Divine General Fei Ying, the Qilin War God has not yet left Demon City, and I am still in contact with him.”

”If we go and ask him, he might agree!”

”This...” Upon hearing this, Zhao Feiying didn’t know what to say.

Technically, since the Qilin War God had resigned, it would not be appropriate to ask him to continue instructing the Qilin Special Combat Team.

That would show some disrespect towards the new acting War God, Lin.

But in order to maintain the Demon City War Department’s performance, he eventually held his tongue.

He sneakily glanced at War God Lin and saw that Lin had not said a word.

Xiao Long also looked towards Lin Dong, inquiring, ”Asura War God, you don’t mind, do you?”

Lin Dong gestured dismissively, ”If you can entice the Qilin War God to teach you, then go ahead and ask.”

”I am no longer your instructor!”

Seeing this, Xiao Long smiled, ”Good, Asura War God, I hope the team you lead won’t end up third from the bottom this time!”

Lin Dong nodded, ”And I hope you manage to stay in the top five!”

The Qilin Special Combat Team then left under the leadership of Captain Xiao Long to seek out Yan Qing.

Meanwhile, the two hundred members of the standard special operations team were still standing in front of Lin Dong.

At the moment, the sun of late May was scorching, and many were already sweating profusely.

Lin Dong glared at them and shouted loudly,

”You all heard just now, even our fellow Qilin Special Combat Team from Demon City War Department looks down on you.”

”You can imagine what the soldiers from the other war departments think of you!”

”Actually, I don’t even respect you myself. Who asked you to be so disappointing, ranking third from last among the thirty-six war zones!”

Under Lin Dong’s reprimand, everyone hung their heads, fists clenched.

”In the War Department, if you want dignity, if you want respect, you must show me the corresponding strength!”

”I won’t go behind you with a whip to beat you. We’re all adults, all soldiers of the War Department; such actions are meaningless.”

”Whether you can achieve good results in this large comparison of the War Department... depends on your own efforts... I have here a Body Refining Method, take it, and practice well according to the method!”

”Whether you want to be lazy or train hard, it’s up to you! Dignity, if someone has to use a whip, use punishment to force you to attain it, then, you’re not fit to be my soldiers!”

After Lin Dong finished speaking, he handed out a copy of the Body Refining Method to each of the two hundred men.

After he had finished, Lin Dong left directly.

The two hundred ordinary soldiers, holding the Body Refining Method in their hands, gripped it tightly.

They didn’t know if practicing this Body Refining Method would be effective, or if it would help them achieve good results.

But at the moment, they didn’t care about anything else. The only thought in their minds was to practice according to the method as long as they didn’t die!!!

Over there, under the leadership of Captain Xiao Long and others, the Qilin Special Combat Team went to find Yan Qing.

Yan Qing, having resigned from the position of War God, was temporarily still staying in Demon City.

He had initially planned to go overseas, but decided to wait a while longer.

One reason was that he wanted to witness ’Master Lin’s half a year agreement’ in Dragon Country.

This so-called ’half a year agreement’ seemed to be a commitment with Lin Tiance of the Lin family. However, Yan Qing and the rest knew that Lin Tiance was in no way qualified to be Master Lin’s opponent.

The so-called ’half a year agreement’ was actually an agreement between Master Lin and King Kunlun, ranked first in the Dragon Country Dragon Ranking.

He was very interested in that great battle and wanted to watch it before leaving.

During this time, he had been living reclusively in Demon City, adopting a low profile, cultivating his morality and tempering his body.

Unexpectedly today, members of the Qilin Special Combat Team came to find him.

When Captain Xiao Long of the Qilin Special Combat Team expressed their purpose for the visit, Yan Qing’s expression grew dark,

”Nonsense, who allowed you to look down on War God Lin?”

Xiao Long quickly said, ”Kylin War God, War God Lin himself agreed.”

”Don’t call me War God; I’ve already resigned,” Yan Qing waved his hand, ”Even if War God Lin agreed, what you are doing is still not right.”

”By doing this, where do you put War God Lin’s face?”

Xiao Long and the members of the Qilin Special Combat Team made a face, ”Although he has the strength of an Earth Realm martial artist, how old is he? I don’t believe he has the strength to mentor us.”

”Kylin War God, please come back and teach us. As an advisor, don’t you want to compete with War God Lin?”

”In our eyes, he is not your equal! But right now in Demon City War Department, other special combat teams, and even many people in the Martial Arts World, they all say, War God Lin is more formidable than you.”

”They even say that if you were to be ranked on the Dragon Rankings, he would be the one right after King Kunlun. You would be behind him...”

After hearing this, Yan Qing was somewhat swayed.

He too was once a Tianjiao, to say he had no pride would naturally be false.

He acknowledged Lin Dong’s strength and felt that him acting as the proxy War God was justified.

Yet, he also wanted to prove to the world that he was no weaker than him.

”Fine then, this time I will act as a consultant and be your instructor for another month. This time, let’s strive hard to see if our War Department can advance our ranking in the large comparison!”

Upon hearing this, Captain Xiao Long and the other members of the Qilin Special Combat Team rejoiced.
