Chapter 1019: Chapter 1018: Pretending to be the Boyfriend?

Lin Dong was about to tell them that he was the acting War God.

However, at this moment, Gu Lingfei’s phone rang.

Gu Lingfei took out her phone and looked at the caller ID, then frowned.

Seeing this, Tang Han couldn’t help but ask, ”Lingfei, who is it? Could it be that Zhao Kuo again?”

”Yes,” Gu Lingfei said helplessly, managing a wry smile.

”This Zhao Kuo is so annoying now. Sister Lingfei, haven’t you already clearly rejected him? Why does he keep harassing you?” Tang Han said, exasperated.

Gu Lingfei was helpless, ”It’s just really annoying. I never had those kinds of feelings toward him; at most, I thought of him as a friend.”

”Moreover, ever since he studied abroad overseas, I hardly even want to be friends with him. But the thing is, our families have connections, and it’s not like I can completely cut him off.”

Tang Han also sighed deeply.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she said, ”Sister Lingfei, answer the call and tell him you have a boyfriend. That’ll make him give up.”

”But I don’t have a boyfriend right now,” Gu Lingfei said, spreading her hands.

”Hehe, can’t someone just pretend for a bit?” said Tang Han, glancing toward Lin Dong as she spoke.

Lin Dong quickly spoke up, ”I’m not doing it.”

Tang Han eagerly clutched his arm, pleading, ”Brother Dongzi, please do me and Lingfei a favor.”

”That Zhao Kuo is the grandson of one of our elders, his grandpa and my dad are on good terms, and he’s also close with Lingfei’s dad. They’ve been family friends for generations. He’s using this as leverage to keep pestering Sister Lingfei, even though she has already explicitly turned him down, he still pursues her.”

”He keeps sending her all sorts of things and confessing in all kinds of public occasions... Anyway, even I find it super annoying.”

”Brother Dongzi, help us out. Just pretend to be Sister Lingfei’s boyfriend for a while to let him lose all hope, okay?”

Gu Lingfei looked at Lin Dong with pleading eyes, clearly tempted by the idea of using this method to settle the matter once and for all.

Lin Dong, feeling helpless, said, ”Okay then.”

When Lin Dong agreed, a smile appeared on Gu Lingfei’s face, and she immediately pressed the answer button.

”Hello, Zhao Kuo, what’s up?” Gu Lingfei asked after the call was connected.

From the other end of the phone came a voice sounding like a show host.

The voice said, ”Lingfei, where are you? I’m coming to find you. I have a surprise for you.”

”Don’t bother, Zhao Kuo. I also have something to tell you. Don’t call me anymore, I have a boyfriend now. I don’t want my boyfriend to misunderstand, you get it?” Gu Lingfei spoke directly.

However, Zhao Kuo laughed hysterically from the other end of the phone, ”Lingfei, where did you get a boyfriend? You’re surely lying to me, right?”

”Where are you right now? I’m coming to find you.”

Gu Lingfei didn’t speak, but from next to her, Tang Han loudly said, ”Zhao Kuo, my Sister Lingfei really has a boyfriend now. If you don’t believe it, come to Beach Square. He’s here too.”

Zhao Kuo’s voice changed a bit, saying sternly, ”I’ll be right there!”

After hanging up the phone, Tang Han looked at Lin Dong, excitedly saying, ”Brother Dongzi, make sure you act the part well later.”

Lin Dong didn’t say anything, just managed a bitter smile. Sure enough, hanging out with Tang Han and Gu Lingfei brought no shortage of troubles.

About twenty minutes later, a Maybach pulled up, and from it, a tall youth, probably in his late twenties, descended.

The youth was tall, easily over 1.8 meters, with dyed yellow hair and two earrings adorning his ears.

He was dressed in hip-hop style and held a bouquet of flowers in his hand.

After getting out of the car, he walked straight toward Gu Lingfei.

”Lingfei, these are the flowers I bought for you.” As he spoke, he extended the bouquet toward Gu Lingfei.

Gu Lingfei didn’t take them, saying instead, ”Zhao Kuo, I have a boyfriend now. If I want flowers, my boyfriend will give them to me.”

”Keep your flowers for yourself.”

At that moment, Zhao Kuo finally took notice of Lin Dong standing nearby.

He glared at Lin Dong, his expression unfriendly, ”Are you the boyfriend Lingfei mentioned?”

Gu Lingfei quickly looked toward Lin Dong.

Tang Han also kept giving Lin Dong sneaky hints, wanting him to say yes.

However, Lin Dong shook his head, ”No!”

”Hahaha...” Hearing this, Zhao Kuo couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

As for Gu Lingfei, she showed a look of disappointment.

And Tang Han, with her face puffed up with anger, was obviously irritated by what Lin Dong had said. They had clearly agreed to pretend to be Sister Lingfei’s boyfriend, yet when push came to shove, he backed out.

”You’re a clever kid, I just knew Lingfei didn’t have a boyfriend. And her saying she had one, was definitely just grabbing someone to pretend. You realize that you aren’t even worthy of being Lingfei’s fake boyfriend,” laughed Zhao Kuo.

Lin Dong’s brow furrowed slightly, and he spoke sternly,

”I may not be Gu Lingfei’s boyfriend, but I am her teacher. As her teacher, I would like to offer you a few words.”

”Since Gu Lingfei doesn’t like you, and has already outright rejected you, then you shouldn’t keep bothering her.”

”You’re not even up to a bootlicker; at least a woman keeps a bootlicker hanging. You are chasing after her even after a clear refusal and causing her distress. You’re just shameless!”

”What the fuck did you say?” At that moment, Zhao Kuo was furious, ”Who the fuck are you to talk to me like that? Calling me shameless, are you seeking death?”

Without another word, Zhao Kuo threw a punch at Lin Dong.

”Zhao Kuo, what are you doing? Are you really going to start a fight with my teacher?” Gu Lingfei intervened anxiously.

Tang Han also warned, ”Be careful, Brother Dongzi. Zhao Kuo has been practicing Sanda since he was a kid, and when he studied abroad, he even won the Sanda championship in one of the states!”

However, Zhao Kuo didn’t stop his actions because of Gu Lingfei’s intervention.

Today, he was set on teaching this man in front of him a lesson.

At least a dozen slaps, that was the minimum.

Yet, just as his hand was about to land on Lin Dong’s face, Lin Dong grabbed his hand.

Instantly, Zhao Kuo felt as if his hand was clamped by Iron Clamp, unable to move at all.

Shocked, Zhao Kuo put more strength into his efforts to break free.

But Lin Dong gave him a slight push.

Zhao Kuo’s body flew out, crashing against his Maybach.
