Chapter 1017: Chapter 1016 It’s Okay Not to Be Such a Buddha

When Lin Dong was making the pig’s foot noodle, he noticed the living room had gone quiet.

He then breathed a sigh of relief.

After the pig’s foot noodle was ready, Lin Dong carried the bowl to the dining table next to the living room.

”The noodles are ready, you two, come and eat the noodles I cooked.”

Lin Dong called out to the two people.

Li Qingcheng was the first to trot over and took a bowl of noodles.

”What, younger sister, do we need to serve the noodles directly to your mouth?” Li Qingcheng teased Li Nanzhi when she saw that she hadn’t moved.

Li Nanzhi shook her head and said, ”I don’t need to eat.”

”Are you that awesome?” Li Qingcheng was somewhat amazed.

Lin Dong was also surprised; he knew that one could avoid eating after reaching above the Ninth Level Grandmaster.

He hadn’t expected Li Nanzhi, who hadn’t even made a breakthrough to Earth Realm martial artist, just a Half-Step Earth Realm martial artist, could actually practice food abstinence.

She truly was unfathomable.

Seeing that Li Nanzhi really wasn’t coming to eat, Li Qingcheng couldn’t help but say,

”Are you sure you don’t want to eat a bit? Little brother’s cooking skills are quite good.”

Li Nanzhi shook her head: ”No need.”

”Then that’s truly a pity, you’re missing out on the joy of delicious food, that’s one less pleasure in life.” Li Qingcheng laughed, her expression shifting from shock to sympathy.

Li Nanzhi, seeing Li Qingcheng looking at her with ’sympathy,’ couldn’t help but frown and said,

”What’s that look?”

”Nothing, just feeling that you are, well, quite pitiable,” Li Qingcheng spread her hands and said.

”Not needing to eat, isn’t that great? What’s pitiable about that?” Li Nanzhi didn’t understand.

Li Qingcheng laughingly said, ”Anyway, I think that if life lacks the joy of delicious food, it definitely loses a big part of happiness. Living should first and foremost be about happiness, right?”

Li Nanzhi fell silent for a while, then suddenly walked up to the table.

She too served herself a bowl of pig’s foot noodle and then began to eat.

The first bite was a bit uncomfortable.

Probably because it had been a long time since she’d eaten.

But after a few bites, she found the taste really good and couldn’t help but enjoy it heartily.

Now, Li Qingcheng was suddenly very curious about Li Nanzhi.

”Hey, younger sister, I suddenly have a very curious question to ask you...” Before Li Qingcheng could finish, Li Nanzhi interrupted her.

”You might as well call me Li Nanzhi. I do not agree to be your so-called younger sister,” Li Nanzhi hmphed.

”Alright, younger sister Nanzhi.”

Li Nanzhi: ”...”

Li Nanzhi was annoyed and glared at her, ”If you have a question, just ask.”

”Well, I’m just really curious. If you don’t eat, then do you... pooh?”

Once Li Qingcheng asked this question, Li Nanzhi gave her a flushed and embarrassed response,

”Roll!”

”Hahaha...” Li Qingcheng laughed hysterically, ”Seriously, I’m really curious about this.”

Li Nanzhi didn’t want to deal with her.

This woman, she’s even more of a monster than Lin Dong.

Such a waste of the Hundred Flowers Constitution.

Why did it have to end up with such a woman?

After the meal was finished, these two women weren’t as combative as they had been at the start.

And after eating, Li Nanzhi went back to sitting on the sofa.

Only then did Lin Dong notice, she seemed to be watching TV, but in fact, she was quietly cultivating.

Lin Dong also noticed she always carried a Buddhist scripture with her.

And would often study the scripture diligently.

Seeing that she didn’t seem to want to leave tonight, Lin Dong couldn’t help but lean closer to Li Qingcheng and whispered,

”Sister Qingcheng, I don’t think she wants to leave tonight. It looks like we’ll have to behave ourselves this evening.”

”I don’t care,” Li Qingcheng twisted his waist, ”You promised me a sleepless night.”

Lin Dong felt awkward and sighed.

A gentleman’s word is his bond, he couldn’t break his promise.

He had no choice but to steel himself and walk over to Li Nanzhi, then reminded her,

”That Li Nanzhi, how about you go somewhere else tonight? I’ll get you a presidential suite, how’s that?”

Li Nanzhi asked in confusion, ”Why should I go anywhere else?”

”It’s not good for you to always sleep on the sofa, right?” While Lin Dong said this, he secretly thought to himself that tonight he wanted to spend a two-person world with Qingcheng.

Li Nanzhi shook her head, ”It’s fine.”

”Cough cough...” Lin Dong had to make himself clear, ”What I mean is, Li Nanzhi, you’re interrupting my two-person world with Sister Qingcheng.”

”What does that have to do with me?” Li Nanzhi turned away, ignoring Lin Dong, and settled down on the sofa to continue her cultivation in meditation.

In the end, she left a remark for Li Qingcheng.

”Li Qingcheng, just do whatever you want to do with him. What, do you dare not to because I’m here?”

Li Qingcheng rolled her eyes, ”Am I supposed to be afraid of you?”

After saying that, she pulled Lin Dong into the bedroom.

Lin Dong hastily said, ”This... this isn’t right.”

”Then you just lie down, I’ll handle the rest,” Li Qingcheng said dominantly.

...

Early the next morning.

Lin Dong and Li Qingcheng got out of bed.

Li Qingcheng thought Li Nanzhi might have sneaked away during the night because she hadn’t heard a single sound from her while she and Lin Dong were in the bedroom.

After all, how could a person be silent in that kind of situation?

So, Li Qingcheng assumed that Li Nanzhi wouldn’t be able to handle the awkwardness and would have left stealthily.

But when she came out next morning with her hair in a mess, she found Li Nanzhi still sitting on the sofa.

Li Qingcheng was stunned and asked,

”No way, you didn’t leave last night?”

Li Nanzhi shook her head, ”Didn’t leave, you were so noisy last night.”

Li Qingcheng: ”...”

She pursed her lips and said, ”You’re really something.”

”So you just stayed on the sofa all night, without sleeping?”

Li Nanzhi nodded, ”I don’t need to sleep. I just need to meditate for a few hours every day.”

Li Qingcheng asked again, ”Suddenly I feel so sorry for you.”

”Sorry for me?” Li Nanzhi was puzzled.

Li Qingcheng said solemnly, ”I think, as a human, life is the most important thing. If a person doesn’t even have the most basic life experiences, doesn’t eat, doesn’t sleep, then what joy is there in living?”

”But like this, I can cultivate into a Buddha,” Li Nanzhi said.

”Hahaha...” Li Qingcheng laughed hysterically, ”Such a Buddha, I don’t want at all, nor do I envy in the slightest.”

”I think, being human suits me better.”

After speaking, she didn’t pay her any more attention and went to wash up in the bathroom.

Li Nanzhi watched Li Qingcheng’s departing back, her expression changing continuously as if she was struck by some realization.
