Chapter 1007: Chapter 1006 Resignation

”Boom!”

In the end, Yan Qing couldn’t stop himself, as his Dao Heart collapsed at that moment, and he lost control over himself.

With one punch, he smashed Yan Yu’s head to pieces.

However, after killing Yan Yu, he came back to his senses, feeling as if someone was gripping his heart in a painful clench.

It hurt so much that he could barely breathe!

”Ah...” He let out a painful roar, his voice hoarse as he shouted, ”No, no...”

He held the corpse of Yan Yu, whose head he had smashed, kneeling there and screaming in agony.

”Brother, brother, I’m sorry!”

The apologies he muttered, it was uncertain whether they were for the incident of drawing lots back then, or for now having killed him.

From a distance, Lin Dong, using X-Ray and Listening, saw all this unfolding before his eyes.

He hadn’t expected that there were such stories entangled between the two brothers, Yan Yu and Yan Qing.

In fact, Yan Yu was in no way less talented in the Martial Way than his older brother Yan Qing.

If it had been Yan Yu who had drawn the lot back then, his achievements might have been no less than Yan Qing’s, and he might also have become a War God.

But there are no what-ifs in the world.

Even so, this was no reason for Yan Yu to commit these unconscionable acts.

Committing treason, poisoning the War Department War Gods of Dragon Country, such heinous crimes were unforgivable, and death was too lenient!

Even further away, the Dragon King War God was also taking in everything that was happening, and it was he who had brought Yan Qing, the War God.

Previously, it was Lin Dong who had asked the Dragon King War God for help to stop the War God Yan Qing.

But the Dragon King War God knew Yan Qing very well and knew that if he found out about his brother’s treason, he would definitely not stand by his side.

Moreover, he would take action against his own brother.

And things turned out exactly as expected.

Of course, those inside details also took the Dragon King War God by surprise; he hadn’t expected such stories to exist between the brothers either.

Several hours later, Yan Qing, the War God, buried his brother Yan Yu, whose head had been blown away.

He buried him right in this Ten Miles Bamboo Forest.

After burying him, Yan Qing’s face lost all traces of blood, becoming deathly pale.

He approached the Dragon King War God and said, ”Lord Dragon King War God, I am no longer worthy to be a War God of the War Department, please allow me to resign.”

A War God resigning!

Such a thing had never happened in the long history of Dragon Country’s War Department.

The Dragon King War God kept silent, and so did the Azure Dragon Messenger.

But at the moment, the loyal general under Yan Qing, the War God, named Overlord God General, couldn’t help but speak out, ”War God Yan Qing, you don’t have to do this, do you?”

”This isn’t your fault. It was all your brother’s doing.”

”You were completely in the dark, and you’ve even executed your brother, the culprit, upholding justice.”

”Why not continue to serve as the War God of the War Department?”

As he spoke, many of Yan Qing’s subordinates began to persuade him:

”Yes, War God Yan Qing, it was all the fault of your brother Yan Yu. You knew nothing about all this.”

”We of the Demon City War Department still need your leadership.”

”You have established so many merits for the War Department in the past; your brother’s actions should not negate your own.”

”War God Yan Qing, you can’t resign.”

”...”

These were the generals under Yan Qing, who, even knowing about Yan Yu’s treason, still respected Yan Qing.

In their eyes, Yan Yu was Yan Yu, and Yan Qing was Yan Qing.

The mistakes made by Yan Yu could not be blamed on War God Yan Qing.

However, Yan Qing shook his head and fell to his knees before the Dragon King War God with a thud.

”Lord Dragon King War God, you have been my idol since I was a child. As a child, it was after hearing of your deeds that I wanted to join the War Department. I wanted to make a name for myself on the battlefield just like you.”

”To defend our country’s territory! To protect the people of our Dragon Country, I would give everything!”

”I thought I had achieved that throughout these years, but it was not until today that I realized I hadn’t from the very beginning.”

”If it had been you back then, Lord, I think you definitely wouldn’t have had that selfish thought.”

”If it weren’t for that selfish thought and the deceitful drawing of lots that misled my brother, then none of what followed would have happened.”

”All this, it’s my fault.”

”I can no longer stay in the War Department, nor can I continue to hold the position of War God.”

”That position should not be sullied because of me!”

”A country’s War God should not be someone who simply has the strongest martial power or has the most merits; it should be someone like the Dragon King War God, a true bearer of the country’s burdens, that can truly hold that position!”

”I am not worthy of the title of War God! Please, Dragon King War God, strip me of the title of War God!!!”

Kneeling on the ground, he resigned to his idol.

The Dragon King War God, although his Inner Qi and Dantian had been destroyed many years ago, was still revered and respected by countless people throughout the entire War Department.

Even someone like Yan Qing, who had achieved the breakthrough to Earth Realm martial artist, still looked up to the Dragon King War God as if a child facing his father.

He was forever the Dinghai Divine Needle.

His position would not disappear because his Martial Way had vanished!

That is the true War God of a nation!!

After taking a deep look at the Qilin War God, the Dragon King War God declared in a resonant voice:

”Granted!!!”
