Urban Divine Doctor Descends the Mountain

Chapter 1008: Chapter 1007: Proxy War God

Hearing the Dragon King War God allow his resignation, Yan Qing also breathed a sigh of relief.

Yan Qing’s former subordinates revealed expressions of reluctance and wanted to persuade him further.

However, Yan Qing waved his hand and said, ”Everyone, I am indeed not suitable for staying in the War Department anymore. From now on, serve the country with even greater loyalty.”

”As for me, although no longer with the War Department, I will forever remember that I am a person of the Dragon Country. Whatever I do, I will prioritize the interests of the Dragon Country first.”

He was thinking that in the future he would head overseas. There, he would fight for the interests of Dragon Country people abroad and protect those in danger.

This was the way he could think of to atone for his sins.

Only by atoning in this manner could he find some peace of mind.

Seeing Yan Qing so determined, his former subordinates closed their mouths and said no more.

But now there was another issue.

That was, with the War God Yan Qing resigning, who would take his place.

Under Yan Qing War God’s command, there were many Divine Generals, including five-star generals like the Overlord God General, but to replace Yan Qing War God, their strength was obviously still insufficient.

To take on the position of War God, the most basic requirement is for the martial arts strength to be that of an Earth Realm martial artist.

None of Yan Qing War God’s subordinates had reached this realm.

At the moment, the Dragon King War God looked towards Lin Dong.

Lin Dong, seeing him staring at himself, felt that his gaze seemed to be scheming something.

He immediately said, ”Dragon King War God, why are you looking at me with that gaze? You’re not plotting something against me again, are you?”

”Heh heh...” the Dragon King War God laughingly said, ”Lin Dong, if I were to let you take on the position of Deputy War God, would you be willing?”

Lin Dong shook his head as quickly as a rattle-drum, ”Dragon King War God, don’t joke with me, expecting me to act as Deputy War God?”

Lin Dong naturally thought he was joking.

Although it was the position of Deputy War God, he was hardly qualified.

Indeed, his strength met the requirements, but Lin Dong was not previously a member of the War Department. To become a War God, besides having the strength of an Earth Realm martial artist,

one also needed sufficient military merits.

Lin Dong lacked military merits and could not command respect.

”Lord Dragon King War God, Master Lin indeed possesses great strength, and in terms of power, he is qualified to become a War God. But he lacks military merits, and without them, he is not fit to be our War Department’s War God.”

The first one, the Overlord God General, spoke up without any courtesy. If Lin Dong were to assume the role of War God, he was clearly the first one to dissent.

The others also spoke up one after another.

”Yes, Lord Dragon King War God, you let him lead the Dragon Group, and none of us objected because he had the strength. But this is the position of the War God of our War Department, and if you were to appoint him, I wouldn’t accept it either.”

”Lord Dragon King War God, although I respect you greatly, I must oppose you on this matter.”

”Master Lin does not qualify to be the War Department War God.”

”...”

A group of people opposed.

Even the Azure Dragon Messenger under the Dragon King War God spoke up, ”Lord Dragon King War God, everyone is right. This goes against the rules!”

The Dragon King War God surveyed the crowd and then laughingly said:

”That’s why I said ’Deputy War God’!”

”A Deputy War God only needs sufficient strength, potential, and a sound character. He can then be appointed for half a year. This half-year will also be considered a probation period.”

”If he can establish sufficient military merits within the War Department within half a year, then he can become a regular. But if he can’t, then his position as Deputy War God will be stripped away.”

Upon these words, everyone fell silent.

The words spoken by the Dragon King War God were not wrong.

Indeed, there is such a rule for the Deputy War God.

Unlike a true War God, who needs sufficient military merit.

”Leave this matter to me,” said the Dragon King War God with a smile.

He was determined to pull Lin Dong, this genius blessed by heaven, into the War Department. He was even willing to let him leap to the position of Deputy War God.

Of course, there was another reason. Now that Yan Qing had resigned, he truly couldn’t find a suitable person to replace The War God Yan Qing.

For someone like the Junlin War God, although his military merit is prominent, his strength is not enough.

And it’s almost the same with the Azure Dragon Messenger, his military merit is sufficient, but he after all has not broken through to the Earth Realm.

If they were made to replace The War God Yan Qing, the subordinates simply wouldn’t accept it.

Seeing that everyone had stopped talking, the Dragon King War God laughed again and said:

”Then it’s happily decided like this. After I go back, I will apply for this matter with the War God of the Nation. As long as he approves, the Letter of Appointment for Lin Dong as the Deputy War God can immediately be issued.”

”Hey, hey, hey, Dragon King War God, I haven’t agreed yet,” Lin Dong quickly said.

But as he spoke, it drew unanimous eye rolls from those Divine Generals of the War Department.

The position of War God they dreamed of, offered to you, and you actually don’t wish for it?

That’s the War God after all!

Even though it’s just as a deputy, it’s still something countless people have long-awaited.

Lin Dong hurriedly said, ”Great Dragon King War God, I really am very busy. I have no time for the War Department.”

”You don’t need to go to the War Department every day; you are just a Deputy War God. The daily affairs of the War Department are mainly the responsibility of those Divine Generals.”

”Moreover, I will temporarily transfer the Azure Dragon Messenger to Demon City. Let him be your assistant. With him there, you basically don’t need to worry about the affairs of the War Department. I know that you have a half-year agreement in the Capital City three months later, and you need to work hard to improve your strength.”

”We, the War Department, can even provide some resources for you.”

Hearing this, Lin Dong was tempted.

”Resources, what kind of resources?” Lin Dong quickly asked.

”Of course, it’s the resources you want most,” the Dragon King War God said with a smile, knowing that what Lin Dong wanted most were Heavenly and Earthly treasures.

They from the War Department also have some of these treasures.

Lin Dong was even more tempted. ”Dragon King War God, you wouldn’t deceive me, would you? Are there really such good things?”

”Become the Deputy War God, not having to do anything? And there are resources to take?”

”Huh huh, of course...” the Dragon King War God laughingly said, first deceive this kid into agreeing, then talk.

Later, once he has become the Deputy War God, then squeeze this kid to make ’contributions’ to the War Department.

In recommending Lin Dong as the Deputy War God, the Dragon King War God, besides seeing his potential, of course, valued his other two abilities.

Those are his mastery of the national art and Medical Arts.

If he could use these for the War Department, it would be an enormous boost to the overall power of the War Department.

Of course, at this time, the old fox did not show this point.

Lin Dong hesitated for a moment and finally nodded and said, ”Okay.”

”Then I agree to take on the role of Deputy War God.”

And hearing Lin Dong’s agreement, the corners of the mouths of all the Divine Generals present twitched.

Such a comparison between people is truly maddening.

Letting you become the War God, how come it seems as though you are being wronged?
