Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 749: The Grudge between Academy Head Mei and the Anti-Witch

Mei Linde’s Office.

“It’s not that I’m picking on you, Mei, but why on earth did you open a Witch Academy in the Main World without saying a word? Is it to recreate the glory of the Main World?”

On one side of the office, on an experimental table, a figure leaned forward over the surface, pressing most of her body weight onto it.

Her toes tapped the floor rhythmically, lifting and falling, as if she didn’t treat this place like another witch’s office at all.

“I don’t think discussing this topic with you is a good choice. I have no desire to personally experience the methods of you Anti-Witches.”

Mei Linde merely glanced at the figure before her; she didn’t exactly hate her, but there was a flicker of wariness in the depths of her eyes.

The witch called an Anti-Witch was, naturally, Cheryl.

Witches who could become Anti-Witches were never simple; at the very least, they had to be very strong.

If she were in her previous state and still possessed the Great Weakening Spell, she was confident she wouldn’t fear the person before her.

Now, though... it was better to be conservative for the time being.

“The methods of an Anti-Witch... Oh my You make it sound like I’m going to do something.”

“Are you saying you won’t? Do you dare to sign a Witch’s Contract... If you sign it, I’ll let you do whatever you want in the Main World.”

Mei Linde picked up a portion of Destiny and shook it.

“Eh? No... You actually prepared a contract?”

Cheryl snatched the parchment contract, inspecting the contents with intense curiosity.

“Let me see what things you want me not to do...”

“Oh, the very first clause is actually...”

“If you’re not signing, give it here. This is a template specifically used to restrict you Anti-Witches from causing us trouble.”

Mei Linde snatched it back.

“There’s even a template? Where did you find it... the Primal Dream State? There are actually witches that bored?”

Cheryl asked with a smile, seemingly indifferent.

“Need me to help you check for any loopholes?”

“Forget it.”

Mei snorted softly, rejecting the proposal.

This template was updated every once in a while on the communication boards of the Primal Dream State.

This was enough to prove that no matter how much a Witch’s Contract restricted them, those Anti-Witches could always find unexpected loopholes to give some “lucky” witch a huge surprise.

Sometimes, Mei Linde really felt that the “Anti” in Anti-Witch might mean “Against the Heavens.”

“Speaking of which, you’ve been wandering around the Main World for a long time, haven’t you? How about I see you off? Having me, the Academy Head, personally see you off should be enough to give you face.”

Mei Linde brought up the question.

“Eh? Issuing an eviction order already? Please You don’t have the final say in the Main World right now. Do you treat this as your back garden? If the only Transcendent race in the Main World were us witches, I might believe those words a bit more.”

Cheryl said with a smile.

“It won’t be long.”

“Hmm? What did you say?”

“I’m saying, how much longer do you, this Void street-drifter, intend to stay in the Main World? If you want to use our Main World’s solidified Void teleportation formation as a springboard to go somewhere in the Void, I can see you off.”

“Ehhh?”

Cheryl drew out her voice.

After all, the cost of using a solidified Void teleportation spell that could deploy across the Void was very high.

Teleporting within a world was basically easy, but once the level crossed into the endless Void, it became very troublesome.

Think about the environment of the Void; even long-distance communication between worlds was impossible.

How much would it cost to teleport a physical living being?

Of course, the more powerful the being, the smaller the cost of teleporting across the Void.

However... those reduced costs would all have to be endured by the teleported individual’s own body.

“I’ve been in your office for so long, yet the topic never moves to the main point. You just keep trying to drive me away. How much do you not want me here?”

“Watching you acting all flirtatious here makes me annoyed.”

Mei spoke without hesitation.

“How can you evaluate my behavior just now as ‘acting all flirtatious’?”

She put on a heartbroken look and approached Mei Linde.

“Actually, I also saw that you, Mei, still possess your charms. I thought I would harvest a satisfactory romance here or something, but from beginning to end, all I’ve harvested is your prejudice against Anti-Witches.”

“Why can’t it be a prejudice against you specifically?”

Mei Linde looked disgusted, as if she were genuinely revolted.

“Because I haven’t done a single thing in the Main World that can be characterized as a bad deed in your eyes.”

Cheryl said with a smile.

“Really? The leaking of the game world’s coordinates wasn’t your doing either?”

“No... Is your level of bluffing me only this much? Or has the comfortable life in the Main World worn down your former edges? Try being fierce for me to see.”

Cheryl turned around and came to Mei Linde’s side, reaching out her hand as if to stroke her cheek.

Within the Witch Academy, it seemed only this Anti-Witch would recklessly make such a move.

“You’re really annoying. Can you leave if you have nothing to do?”

Mei slapped the other’s hand away.

“Is that so? If I leave this office, would you really be at ease? There aren’t many witches in the Witch Academy that interest me. For example... that Lesser Witch called Xiao Han. I think she’s very interesting.”

“I advise you best not to have ideas about her.”

Suddenly mentioning “Xiao Han,” Mei Linde’s tone changed instantly.

“No... Are you so afraid that I won’t know how important that Lesser Witch is to you?”

Cheryl said with some helplessness, seemingly resigned to the reaction of the witch before her.

“She is inherently important. The purpose of your visit this time is her, right? I truly can’t think of anything else that would attract you more than a Lesser Witch who ‘might become a Truth Witch’ as you put it.”

Mei Linde asked with absolute certainty.

“Oh my It seems that witch named Bai Yu has asked you about my background?”

“If you touch her, I guarantee that Bai Yu you mentioned will absolutely pursue you unto death. I admit she hasn’t been a Transcendent Witch for long, but back then, she was only a tiny bit away from reaching the Saint Stage in one step. Perhaps you don’t understand how terrifying it is to be hunted by a Body Cultivation Witch who has mastered Time Sense.”

“Actually, I know Dragon Blood Academy, was it that academy? I don’t remember the non-Transcendent race academies very clearly. Anyway, I was the one who egged her on to kill her way to their doorstep and hack a few more Transcendent Drakonids. I was at the scene, so I’ve witnessed the terror of Time Sense. Thinking back now... I’m still a little scared.”

“You don’t look scared in the slightest.”

Mei Linde shook her head and finally sighed.

“In any case, I’ve explained the stakes to you. Do not touch certain bottom lines.”

“Fine If I shouldn’t touch them, I won’t.”

Cheryl shrugged, quickly changing the subject again.

“Then let’s talk about that game world. I’m quite interested in that.”

“Oh, interested in what?”

“Interested in... heh heh.”

Cheryl dragged out her words, but she was still playing with something.

“This is a Great Seed of Knowledge, right? That little toy made by the Lesser Witch is really interesting. Through this, I’ve discovered an interesting image.”

“I feel that giving the Great Seed of Knowledge to you was a mistake.”

“What kind of talk is that? Don’t you all want to promote this to the entire Witch race? Coordinating with the Great Knowledge Sharing Technique to establish a Void interconnection network dominated by the Witch race. You were all so impatient that you even completed the Void tests. Don’t keep the data so tightly hidden. How about letting me see? I can promise to be good... for 7 days in the Witch Academy. How about it?”

“No.”

“Alright, back to the main point then.”

Cheryl wasn’t sad about being rejected; it seemed that to her, teasing Mei Linde herself was fun enough.

“I know that back then, you wanted Xiao Han to harvest that game world, right?”

“What if I did?”

“Relying on what? That Reverse Summoning Spell? Speaking of which, abilities associated with [Transcendent Knowledge] are all heaven-defying. This Reverse Summoning Spell can actually cross the Void for a short distance to perform teleportation between worlds? I remember that piece of [Transcendent Knowledge] seemed to be somewhat related to you, too. Now you’ve given it to that witch named... Xi Lan to research?”

“Why do you insist on knowing so many things that have nothing to do with you?”

Mei Linde frowned and looked at Cheryl, questioning her.

“Oh my It’s mainly because the Witch Academy is too comfortable and boring. Plus, since I harvested this little toy, the Great Seed of Knowledge, you can’t possibly suppress my childlike heart for exploring this toy, right?”

“Heh...”

To this, Mei Linde responded only with a speechless sound.

“Speaking of which, are you all still planning to let Xiao Han go and harvest that world? If Xiao Han harvests that world, I remember that world also has a piece of [Transcendent Knowledge], right?”

Cheryl said with an exaggerated expression, then held up her fingers to do some single-digit addition.

“Then... she’ll have... one, two, three... a total of four. If you add the Great Ice Throne Spell from your script, wouldn’t that be five? Among them is the [Transcendent Knowledge] of your Great Weakening Spell. I’m a bit curious why you don’t take that one back.”

“Why are you so curious about so many things? Don’t you know curiosity killed the cat?”

“But curiosity is one of the Witches’ instincts. Tell me Are you really going to let that Lesser Witch gather five Grand Spellbooks at once? That’s not how you make a Truth Witch.”

“Of course not.”

Mei Linde snorted softly, as if she were genuinely annoyed by Cheryl.

“I will take back the [Transcendent Knowledge] of the Great Weakening Spell, but not now. Additionally, the [Transcendent Knowledge] of the Great Ice Throne Spell from the script is already bound to the Destiny spear; Xiao Han wouldn’t want it either.”

“So the point that Xiao Han hates Destiny so much was actually something you deliberately guided? That seems to make sense. Since you don’t want to follow the script, then don’t touch script items.”

Cheryl spoke as if she understood everything, starting her own deductions.

“This is merely your groundless speculation.”

“Fine, fine, fine I won’t ruin the relationship between you and Xiao Han. Since you value the relationship in this so much... could it be that you want to use Xiao Han’s hand to help you reshape your Grand Spellbook?”

“……”

With Cheryl repeatedly testing the bottom line, Mei Linde didn’t even speak anymore.

A powerful pressure began to spread across the office, focusing specifically on Cheryl.

“Alright Alright You really can’t take a joke. And yet you called that fellow Serina Palitzer an old fossil. I think you’re about the same as her.”

“You went to see her?”

“Couldn’t find her. Likely, ossified witches like you all don’t welcome a witch like me. But... this is precisely the meaning of us Anti-Witches’ existence.”

“I don’t think the meaning of an Anti-Witch’s existence is to give your kin grief while incidentally adding endless trouble.”

Mei Linde complained.

“Oh my, a temporary bout of grief is only to let you all leave your comfort zones and break your original perceptions...”

Cheryl said with a smile, as if the content of what she said wasn’t important; only the fact that the person before her felt grieved by her was important.

“Forget it, I’m done talking with you. I’m going out to find more fun. I heard... that Xiao Han is doing a project related to Self-generating Magic Power recently... Heh heh I have to go see if she succeeded.”

***

Inside the Laboratory.

After preliminarily perfecting the prototype of the Magic Power Source Body Cultivation Method, the next step was to conduct constant experiments.

Having reached this step, it was no longer divided into the branches Yi Rui and the others researched versus mine.

Instead, it was a need for cooperation to jointly develop and perfect this Body Cultivation Method.

However, after that, at their request, I prepared to officially categorize and summarize this series of concepts for the Magic Power Source Body Cultivation Method and... rename them.

After all, they felt that “Magic Power Source Body Cultivation Method” sounded too direct and lacked style.

Furthermore, it wasn’t just the Magic Power Source Body Cultivation Method; the ritual architecture involved in molding Self-generating Magic Power also needed a formal name.

I was indifferent to this.

Perhaps for ordinary people, every step of breakthrough could be considered an achievement and named accordingly.

But in my view, these names, aside from adding unnecessary difficulty to theoretical exams, really didn’t have much practical significance.

Ultimately, however, for the convenience of promoting the Self-generating Magic Power process, I agreed to their proposal.

First, the Magic Power Source Body Cultivation Method was officially renamed the “Witchified Body Cultivation Method,” avoiding specific technical terms like Magic Power Source.

The prerequisite for establishing the Witchified Body Cultivation Method was the already named “Witch-transformation Reconstruction Metamorphic Spell.”

The core ritual of the Witchified Body Cultivation Method was called the “Self-generating Magic Power Construction Ritual.”

This was a name I approved of; at least it sounded simple and easy to understand.

The physical art practiced in coordination with the Witchified Body Cultivation Method was called the “Witchified Ritual Battle Dance.”

The name referenced the “Ritual Battle Dance” body-forging method.

After all, the physical art used for coordinated practice really didn’t have many unique features, and since the main purpose was to coordinate with the ritual’s construction, calling it a “Witchified Ritual” wasn’t wrong.

The reason it was called a battle dance... was because the Body Cultivation Witch sister who helped create this physical art helped restate and adjust it once more.

She even added some extra movements that didn’t significantly affect the ritual, turning it into a smoother battle dance...

Thus, it became the “Witchified Ritual Battle Dance.”

I heard that the reason for this artistic adjustment was mainly because that witch sister wanted to offer this physical art as a class and then watch (appreciate) the students who came to her class dancing this ritual battle dance...

After all, setting aside the ritual and its effects, this physical art was indeed... light and elegant in its movements during the practice process, yet without losing a sense of power.

It fit the witches’ aesthetic perfectly...

Regardless, with the addition of the large physical art category of “Body-transformation Spell-type Physical Arts,” the system of the original Magic Power Source Body Cultivation Method could be considered officially perfected, and the formal naming work was completed.
