Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 730: The Problem with the Game World

After leaving the experimental area, I headed straight for Academy Head Mei’s office.

After exiting the spatially locked experimental area, I used a Teleportation Spell to arrive directly near the Academy Head’s office and then walked a few steps to the office itself.

Upon arriving at the office, the large, precise Destiny Gazing Technique instrument inside the office was still the most eye-catching construct.

Quite a few Witches were gathered here.

Seeing my arrival, they all greeted me warmly.

Among this group of Witches, I even saw some familiar figures, such as… Big Sis Natalie, the Alchemist Master who helped me create the Book in the Casket.

I hadn’t expected her to be here as well.

At this moment, they were each playing with some strange items—materials that I wouldn’t know what they were used for without the Earth Vein Appraisal Spell.

Some were just casually strewn on the floor… Walking in like this and looking at them, it truly felt like I was arriving to split the spoils.

”Xiao Han is here. Next time, you can directly teleport into our office. In my territory, do you need to be so polite with me?”

The Academy Head spoke very directly, seeing that I always walked the same route from outside.

”Ah… yes, yes, Big Sis Mei. Eh? Big Sis Mei is an Avatar. Are you still that busy right now?”

I looked at Academy Head Mei.

She was still an Avatar here.

Since the matter had largely concluded, she shouldn’t be that busy, should she?

After all, she was still here to split the spoils, and so on…

”When am I not busy?”

Academy Head Mei was momentarily stunned, then replied with a smile.

”I thought the matter had mostly concluded at this stage. After all, Big Sis Mei specifically called me over to split the spoils.”

”The matter has indeed concluded for now, but troubles keep coming one after another. Being the Academy Head is very busy,” Academy Head Mei’s Avatar said with a smile.

”By the way, Xiao Han, do you want to know what the matter is?”

”Of course, I want to know!”

I immediately said.

After all, if one is unaware of many things, one will be hesitant when taking action and won’t be able to guess what the opponent is planning if one doesn’t know the underlying logic of a matter.

It was as if no one had very directly and formally told me my own value, my significance, and how other races treated geniuses.

I would be confined to my own thoughts, and might not even think that the opponent would actually plot to kill me!

”Look how anxious Xiao Han is. Don’t be so impatient. Get the benefits first, then we can talk slowly.”

At this moment, a Witch Sister, playing with a fruit, spoke with a smile.

”Xiao Han came all the way from the laboratory, unlike you who are usually idle and the first to arrive to split the spoils.”

At this moment, another Witch next to her didn’t hesitate to criticize her.

”I went with the Academy Head! I have a right to a share of the extorted goods! What’s wrong with that?”

”Move aside, you’re stepping on my materials.”

While the two Witch Sisters were arguing, Big Sis Natalie also came over, but she was only interested in the materials among these items.

Not just materials; she accepted all kinds of Transcendent materials suitable for Alchemy.

”That’s right. Xiao Han rushed over from the laboratory, deliberately putting down her experiments. She should get some benefits first.”

Academy Head Mei said, then handed me a Storage Card.

”This is yours, Xiao Han. I specifically selected things that you could use. After all, the compensation from those academies was based on your death, and we didn’t delve too deeply into the specifics, so there are quite a few things that you won’t need.”

”It’s fine, it’s fine. It all came for free anyway. It’s enough that Big Sis Mei remembered my share.”

I naturally understood that Academy Head Mei was implicitly explaining why she hadn’t given all the compensation to me, but there was no way I would accept all of it!

I wasn’t that shameless.

Although these benefits were indeed given by the various academies as compensation for killing me, without the Witch Academy as a backing, others wouldn’t pay any attention to me.

So, taking one share was already very satisfying.

”Xiao Han is more sensible than she looks.”

”It’s just okay.”

I said modestly, but inwardly, I was actually very clear: the main reason was that I couldn’t assess the value of these resources and benefits.

If I didn’t understand their value, I was naturally casual about them, just like in the Expansion Realm.

Being unsure of the value, I could only entrust Millian to manage them.

The main issue was simply my lack of experience.

”These are just appetizers. Later, there’s a truly good thing, and that is the real benefit I want to give you this time.”

Academy Head Mei said with a smile, keeping me in suspense.

And upon mentioning this, I noticed that quite a few Witches present even showed signs of envy!

Was this a benefit that even Transcendent Witches couldn’t ignore?!

I looked at Academy Head Mei in astonishment, finding it somewhat unbelievable.

However, glancing at the Storage Card in my hand, I decided to put it away first…

”But before we talk about that, let’s talk about the matter I mentioned earlier—what I’ve been busy with.”

Academy Head Mei abruptly steered the conversation back to the original topic.

”Xiao Han, you must be very curious, right?”

”Mhm, mhm.”

”Actually, we are currently busy with the problem concerning the game world.”

Academy Head Mei sighed, then went straight to the main point, uncharacteristically skipping the pleasantries.

”Eh? Is there a problem with that world?”

I asked, somewhat surprised.

After all, hadn’t that world already become the Witches’ prize?

The fact that there was a problem was something I hadn’t expected.

If it required Academy Head Mei to be personally this busy, then it probably wasn’t a small matter.

”It’s more or less a small problem.”

”A small problem…”

I was a little skeptical.

After all, this was a ”small problem” in the Academy Head’s words.

From my perspective, it was probably quite significant.

But I remember I had a player Avatar there.

Although it has mostly learned and mastered the language of that world, it is currently carefully trying to integrate into the player community.

But the progress is worrying now.

And… the current players seem to be acting a little strangely.

First, they learned about the existence of the Transcendent Witches and were shocked, but they still didn’t leave.

That was the strange part.

Who gave them the courage?

”It is indeed a small problem. That game world is already the Witches’ prize; no one dares to snatch that world from us.”

Academy Head Mei first characterized the matter.

”So… what is the small problem?”

I asked curiously.

”The Void coordinates of that game world seem to have been leaked. A Transcendent race learned the coordinates of that world before us.”

Academy Head Mei said with a sigh.

”Eh? Void coordinates? Leaked? Uh…”

”Xiao Han, you might not fully understand what this means, right?”

”Yes, so… based on my understanding, this world is being coveted by others?”

I asked tentatively.

”No one dares to openly steal the possessions of a Transcendent Witch, but the underhanded actions are truly incessant.”

Academy Head Mei’s expression became serious here, as if she were facing a crawling cockroach at home.

The frustration was not about the cockroach crawling, but that the dark corner could no longer contain this cockroach.

”Uh… if it’s just underhanded actions, wouldn’t a thunderous means of sweeping them out suffice?”

”So we face two problems now.”

Academy Head Mei looked somewhat helpless.

”The first is the contract issue—the principle of non-interference by Transcendent beings contract. Do you remember when I told you to harvest that world?”

”Ah… I remember.”

I immediately nodded.

”So… they exploited a loophole in the contract, leaking the Void coordinates of that world, allowing other races to harass it?”

”Something like that, Xiao Han. You can understand it this way. It’s not just harassment; it’s also a provocation!”

Academy Head Mei said, and I could feel her temper flaring.

”And recently, we also seem to have lost the Void coordinates of that world. This wasn’t an accident. That world seems to have suddenly mastered a technique that can conceal its own world’s Void coordinates, and is now close to semi-detachment from our control.”

”Suddenly?”

I immediately grasped the key problem.

”One can guess that there’s something fishy going on. Certainly, a Transcendent race made a move. Most likely, it’s those few Transcendent races in the Main World.”

”Could it be the Abyssal Demons? After all, this world was their…”

I asked, speculating.

”It won’t be them.”

Academy Head Mei denied the suggestion.

”They haven’t established a firm footing in the Main World yet. If they dare to cause trouble for us in this area, we can pay a small price and completely drive all traces of the Abyssal Demons out of the Main World.”

”Uh… then why did they dare to get involved in the plan to assassinate me?”

”Just a joke… the Abyssal Demons were also victims in this matter. They merely did a favor, but they didn’t expect to end up as the scapegoat. They originally just wanted to invade the Expansion Realm and show their faces because they had already paid a sufficient price for us to allow them to appear in the Expansion Realm with limited restrictions. The form was unrestricted, but their expulsion was not guaranteed, and there could be no Transcendent-level interference during the period.”

”Uh? There are times when the Abyssal Demons get played too?”

For some reason, I suddenly felt like laughing.

”But they are not innocent. This was the closest they came to being completely driven out of the Main World. If we don’t give them a strong lesson, they won’t know who fought their way in and who shamelessly entered the Main World!”

Academy Head Mei’s tone was extremely dominant when she said this!

”That’s true. Those disgusting guys deserve a severe lesson.”

After all, I had a grudge against the Abyssal Demon world.

Not to mention the recent Nightmare Demon assassination, I was still holding a grudge over the Imp Academy incident from back then!

So, if I have the chance in the future, I will definitely make sure the Abyssal Demons won’t have an easy life!

But thinking about it differently… didn’t I use the heart of an Abyssal Lord when I cut the Earth Vein Chains?

It seems my connection with the Abyssal Demons is quite profound.

But they are all ill-fated connections; I’ll sever them sooner or later.

After chatting a little more with the Academy Head, we returned to the main topic.

”Since that game world is so far from our Main World, can we still reach it?”

I asked curiously.

”Although it is somewhat far from our Main World, there are no other worlds around the coordinates of the Main World in the Void. Even if that world is far from us, it is still the closest world to us.”

”I see…”

I roughly understood why the Academy Head was so concerned about this game world.

”Then… what should we do about that game world now?”

”We’ll teleport there according to the original Void coordinates, and then slowly conduct Void exploration until we find that world. With our exploration efficiency, that world won’t be able to run away. The other Transcendent races clearly know this, so they dare not openly seize it. But this method of disgusting the Witches is indeed enough to delay us for a period, giving that game world some time to prepare its resistance.”

”But that doesn’t seem to have much meaning, does it?”

I was a little curious.

Those races dare not touch the Witches’ property.

They do this only to cause trouble and gain some resources.

Would this action be enough to cover their operating costs?

”Of course, it has meaning. Sending people to that world to create panic, turning everything upside down, and then conducting a final scavenging. Don’t forget, that world also possesses a [Transcendent Knowledge], and it’s not a single, isolated [Transcendent Knowledge], but one that has been developed by a civilization into a Transcendent System capable of architecting the development of an entire world. This kind of Transcendent Knowledge is like a finished Grand Spellbook; it can be traded, plundered, and inherited.”

”Hiss!”

Hearing the Academy Head say this, I immediately gasped, nearly forgetting about this!

No, although I don’t quite view it as my sole possession yet, I wouldn’t just stand by and watch others reap the rewards.

Those who tried to fish in troubled waters before me… they truly deserve to die!

”Don’t you Witches have any solution? Or… do you need my cooperation? Although… I probably can’t offer much help…”

After all, I was not yet Transcendent and couldn’t get involved in Void matters.

”Xiao Han, you also want to contribute?”

The Academy Head asked with a smile, hearing my words.

”Is there really a place where I can be useful!”

”Not for now.”

Mei Linde shook her head.

She didn’t plan to let me get involved in this matter yet.

Moreover, Xiao Han was a thorn in the side of other races, and she wouldn’t let Xiao Han risk it.

”But this is a predicament right now. However… I want to say that this time, we counter-schemed and played a trick on all the Transcendent races. But they won’t let it go easily. Perhaps they will settle down for a period, but they will definitely come up with other ways to target you later.”

”Uh… I understand. I will be careful later.”

I nodded.

Although I wasn’t entirely clear why the Academy Head brought up the topic of ”targeting me” again, this was indeed something I needed to consider later.

”The problem with the game world is not for you to worry about right now, Xiao Han. These are things we should handle. After all, that world is related to the secondary repair of the Main World. You probably don’t know how enormous the Main World once was.”

Academy Head Mei stopped here, seemingly lost in thought, but she didn’t elaborate.

The fact that there were no other worlds around the Void coordinates of the Main World was because that was the height the Main World had once reached.

The Main World was the most unique world in the Void, almost second to none.

As for why the area outside the Main World’s Void had vanished so cleanly… it was because even the remaining forms after the world’s fragmentation were still ”resources” that were being plundered…

”Xiao Han, you just need to follow your own pace. So, let’s stop this topic here.”

Academy Head Mei said with a smile.

”Now it’s time for the benefits I mentioned earlier—the real benefits!”

”Alright.”

I didn’t dwell on this issue and looked at the Academy Head expectantly.

”What is it, exactly?”

”It’s… a World Fragment. Or, in our Witches’ terminology, let’s call it a… Dungeon World.”

Academy Head Mei introduced it with a smile.
