Is It Weird for a Guy to Apply to a Witch School?

Chapter 734: Transcendent Item and the Birth Ritual

After a brief exchange of pleasantries with Big Sis Trixie, I decided to get straight to the point.

The fact that Trixie suddenly sought me out now was likely because she sensed something at the Destiny level, and it was most likely about the Lucky Coin.

”I didn’t expect the existence of Destiny to be wielded so masterfully in your hands, Big Sis Trixie. I presume this time you are here for the Lucky Coin, right?”

”Oh? You already know the Alchemical Item is called the Lucky Coin?”

Trixie said, though she wasn’t surprised.

After all, she had previously given it names like ”Destiny’s Choice.”

She had conducted many such experiments in the Witch Academy.

”Mhm.”

I nodded.

Actually, finding out the name of this Alchemical Item was very simple.

As long as the person who refined it didn’t deliberately clear the relevant Earth Vein Information, my Appraisal Spell could definitely retrieve the corresponding information.

In fact… rather than the Appraisal Spell being incredible, it was the Earth Vein itself, which recorded everything and etched it into history, that was truly formidable.

”So, has Xiao Han made that final Destiny’s Choice?”

”Mhm… I can only say, sort of?”

I said with some hesitation.

If that counted as Destiny’s Choice… I still felt the authority level was insufficient.

I suspected that the true catalyst for the Ritual’s completion was the act of gambling with Destiny, not Destiny’s Choice itself.

Taking Yang Yunhan into the Witch Academy or allowing him to enter the Wizard Academy had no effect; it didn’t propel the Main World in any way.

That Destiny Event could only be called an aftershock of the college entrance examination Destiny distribution.

”Sort of? This is the first time I’ve heard this response. Before, I usually heard answers like ’I succeeded’ or ’I failed.’ Although failure was more common, Xiao Han doesn’t need to be so vague. Even if you failed, I wouldn’t blame you.”

Trixie propped her left hand on her cheek, while her right hand stirred a specially prepared latte.

The original latte art had already been stirred into the coffee itself, and she seemed to enjoy doing this.

”I didn’t fail, but I can’t say it was a success either.”

I shook my head, finally choosing to stop beating around the bush.

Then, I stretched out my hand, making a grasping motion in front of me.

The ominous red Destiny rose from my body, eventually forming a coin in my hand, glowing with blood-red Destiny.

However, those who couldn’t perceive the Destiny level couldn’t see its anomaly and would only think it was a very ordinary coin that gradually solidified in my hand.

This was the Transcendent Item that was born after the Birth Ritual of a Transcendent Item was performed on the Lucky Coin Alchemical Embryo.

What was somewhat surprising to me was that it could still dissolve into the ominous red Destiny and become formless, and I could also use a grasping motion to condense it back into form.

And the moment this coin appeared, Trixie’s eyes widened!

Blood-red… Destiny!

And that coin was unlike any of the ones she had previously collected!

This coin looked extremely mesmerizing and demonic.

Staring at it for too long even gave one the illusion of being provoked.

And the ”meaning” of the Destiny it emitted, which only a Destiny Alchemist could perceive, carried an aura of arrogance and defiance.

”This is fascinating!”

Trixie’s gaze was still fixed on the coin.

After instinctively swallowing her saliva, she finally suppressed her excited inner state.

Compared to immediately getting her hands on this item, she was more eager to know how Xiao Han achieved this.

And just as she was about to speak, she suddenly noticed something was wrong.

”Wait… this doesn’t seem to be an Alchemical Item anymore, does it?”

”Yes, I don’t know how, but it transformed into a Transcendent Item. It seems to have fulfilled some kind of special Birth Ritual.”

I nodded, somewhat surprised.

It was only by grasping this coin that I felt a certain sensation that allowed me to distinguish that it was a Transcendent Item.

I hadn’t expected Big Sis Trixie to distinguish its essence just by looking at it.

”The Birth Ritual of a Transcendent Item!”

Trixie involuntarily gasped a few times upon learning this result, as if she had discovered something extraordinary.

After all, Alchemical Items could be continually refined by Alchemists, but nine out of ten Transcendent Items born in the Void are almost impossible to replicate and are virtually unique.

This is because the Rituals that give birth to them are too demanding.

However, some Transcendent Items’ Birth Rituals are not complex and are discovered and summarized by chance.

The Witch race has mastered quite a few Birth Rituals for Transcendent Items, but many of them are virtually impossible to reproduce, even if known.

Because the Birth Ritual of a Transcendent Item is often accompanied by a special state, and this special state and the rare chance encounter, even a Destiny Alchemist using Destiny to push it, cannot guarantee success every time.

There are even Destiny Alchemists in the endless Void who, in order to create a Transcendent Item, interfered with the Destiny and script of a small world, rewriting the World Script to their desired outcome, until that world fell into a state of endless conquest and self-destruction.

This ultimately created the Transcendent Item named the ”Thorn Crown Irrigated with Blood and Tears.”

It was a Transcendent Item whose cost of use far exceeded the effect it produced, but it didn’t matter.

That Destiny Alchemist merely wanted to add a masterpiece to her collection.

Therefore, the Witches’ poor reputation in the Void was not earned through trivial actions.

But from the Transcendent perspective, those people were ultimately utilized by a great Transcendent being to give birth to a very valuable Transcendent Item.

They could be said to have died for a worthy cause.

That small world eventually fell into self-destruction, and the fragmented world pieces were made into Dungeon Worlds.

As for how Trixie knew all this… it was because she was also a Destiny Alchemist and had her own social circle in the Primal Dream State.

It was completely normal for Destiny Alchemists to gather, have a Witch Tea Party, and share their experiences and stories.

”Can you tell me the story of this Transcendent Item?”

”Are you very interested in this, Big Sis Trixie?”

I asked with a smile.

After all, Trixie’s emotions were almost undisguised, so I could naturally see what the matter was.

It seemed that the value of the Transcendent Item was greater than I had imagined.

But Transcendent Items have undeniable side effects compared to Alchemical Items…

Could it be… collector’s value?

”Indeed, I’m very interested in the process of this Transcendent Coin’s birth. Would you mind telling me about it? I’m willing to be a listener.”

Trixie said eagerly.

”Oh I forgot to ask, have you named this Transcendent Item? This is the first time I’ve seen such a Transcendent Item. Since you are the first person to give birth to it, why don’t you bestow a name upon it?”

”A name?”

I asked curiously.

”Yes, just like my Alchemical Item. Although it was originally called the Lucky Coin, I generally prefer to call it Destiny’s Choice.”

”Is that so…”

I looked at the coin in my hand, flipping to the side with my silhouette.

The most eye-catching feature was the freely outlined curve of the mouth.

”How about… Mockery of Destiny’s Incompetence?”

”Mockery of Destiny’s Incompetence?”

Trixie repeated the name I gave it.

”If the Destiny here refers to the fate driven by Destiny, then there seems to be no problem. In a closed world, the drive of Destiny basically represents a person’s absolute fate.”

”From this name, I can see that you seem to have done something extraordinary?”

Trixie teased me appropriately at this moment.

I picked up the black coffee in my hand, which Trixie had ordered for me, and took a sip.

I have to say that Trixie’s understanding of my taste was quite good.

I really liked the inherent bitterness of the coffee, which also carried a hint of mellowness.

”It was nothing much, really.”

I said modestly again.

”Then can you tell me exactly what happened? I’m truly curious.”

Trixie forcefully brought the topic back to this.

She was very eager to know the details of the event.

She truly wanted to analyze the Birth Ritual of this Transcendent Item from the events, even though she wasn’t clear about the effect and side effects of this inauspicious coin.

The fact that it was a Transcendent Item didn’t hurt!

She could already imagine that at the next Witch Tea Party, she would no longer be a silent listener in the conversations!

After all, having been stationed in the Main World Witch Academy for so long, her experiences were not as rich as those Witches who traveled the Void.

”Alright, but just telling you is definitely not as direct as letting you see it. I can use the Great Tree of Knowledge to demonstrate the events that occurred earlier.”

As I spoke, I brought up the previous scene—the Earth Vein Projection of the past that was closely related to me.

”That’s great.”

Trixie’s eyes lit up.

She felt that she liked this young Witch named Xiao Han even more; she was too sensible!

But with my next sentence, her originally joyful face involuntarily stiffened.

”Big Sis Trixie, you are so curious about what happened. Do you want to understand the birth process or the Birth Ritual of this Transcendent Item?”

I spoke like this, as the other party’s excitement was too obvious.

However, from my perspective, a rare and unpredictable existence like a Transcendent Item—if I could master the pattern of its birth—I would also be willing to delve into it, even if the Transcendent Item itself was not very valuable.

But… this would help me understand the essence of Transcendent Items.

In the Transcendent world, much of the Transcendent-level knowledge is not valued for the intrinsic worth it brings.

However, there is one thing whose value is absolutely the highest, and that is the value of ”I like it.”

No matter how elaborate your words are, they are no match for the phrase ”I like it.”

At this moment, all reason, value, and benefit seem pale and powerless.

”Mhm… sort of…”

Trixie sighed, finally admitting this point.

”Xiao Han, how much do you know about the concept of Transcendent Items?”

”I don’t think I know a lot. I only know that using it likely has no usage threshold, but using it requires paying an equivalent price. And also… it’s rare and hard to come by, almost impossible to mass-produce artificially.”

I generally described my cognition of it.

”It seems you know quite a bit, Xiao Han. That’s indeed the case for Transcendent Items. Precisely because they are rare and unpredictable, they attract more Witches who want to conquer them.”

”So… compared to this coin, Big Sis Trixie actually wants to know how I did it, right?”

I said this, my gaze fixed on the Earth Vein Image I presented to Trixie.

”Yes, cough… but don’t worry, Xiao Han. I’m not the type of Witch who freeloads.”

Trixie coughed lightly, then deliberately emphasized, ”If I truly master the method of this Transcendent Item’s Birth Ritual, even if I don’t master it, I will still give you a considerable reward.”

”Really?”

Hearing Big Sis Trixie say this, I also cooperatively looked as if my eyes lit up.

”Uh… yes.”

”Even if I want to keep this coin?”

I asked tentatively.

”Xiao Han… you ultimately want to keep it. Are you reluctant to part with it?”

”No… it’s just a choice in my life, but… it’s quite meaningful. At least it left a deep impression on me.”

I explained.

”Is that so?”

Trixie looked at the coin in my hand, then at the Earth Vein Image.

”In that case… I can only refrain from taking what you cherish.”

Trixie suddenly thought of Mei Linde and felt a headache coming on.

”But I have a suggestion. Since this Transcendent Coin—oh no, ’Mockery of Destiny’s Incompetence’—belongs to you, may I borrow it for research? I can promise not to conduct destructive research on it. I can even tell you its effect and side effects when I return it to you, how about that?”

”Of course!”

I nodded repeatedly.

After all, I had only asked a probing question just now, and I hadn’t expected it to actually be possible!

It seemed that the Birth Ritual of this Transcendent Item was more valuable than the item itself.

But the birth of a Transcendent Item is truly difficult.

My situation… Hehe, it’s not impossible, but it is almost impossible to replicate.

”Since Big Sis Trixie is willing to let me keep the ownership of this coin, I am naturally willing to lend it to Big Sis Trixie for research.”

I handed the coin over.

Trixie took the coin and played with it for a moment.

”Hmm? Xiao Han, that motion you made just now to absorb and condense it… how did you do that? I can tell that it wasn’t stored in Storage Equipment, right?”

”Oh, that… I’m not entirely sure. I can’t quite explain it… it’s like an instinct, turning into Destiny and augmenting itself onto me.”

I said with a slight apology.

”… You even have the privilege of the originator? It seems deciding to leave it to you wasn’t a mistake…”

Trixie smiled but shook her head somewhat helplessly.

”It’s a pity I can’t do that.”

”Perhaps… its raw material came from the qualification of my Seed of Destiny?”

I asked tentatively.

”That’s quite possible.”

Trixie nodded and said with a smile, ”Xiao Han, are you still busy now?”

”Mhm… I’m alright, but I still have time for a cup of coffee.”

”Then… would you be willing to test the effect of this Transcendent Coin with me now, Xiao Han? Just a quick try, how about that?”

Trixie said impatiently.
