The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Chef Gu didn’t take Wang Yuxuan’s teasing to heart.

Instead, Fu Yu was completely baffled!

He thought he was low-key enough usually!

How did he still stand out?

Thinking of this, Fu Yu couldn’t help but shake his head, looking at Gu Yunwu with disapproval: Chef Gu, seriously, why are you competing with me? Feeling defeated?

Sigh, in the end, it’s just because I’m too excellent!

Liu Yuqing happened to come by to deliver an order, and upon seeing this scene, she also couldn’t help but glance over, looking at these two with their stark contrast in stature and build, her eyes were full of amusement.

Just then, Gao Wenjing came over to discuss today’s coupon exchange event with Yao Shi, and hearing Wang Yuxuan talking about this, she also smiled.

”Chef Gu, you should give it a rest, what were you thinking, competing with Chef Fu? Firstly, you picked the wrong person! Let me tell you, Chef Fu is currently our restaurant’s unanimously voted second top male god!”

Everyone in the back was initially focused on their work, but upon hearing this, they perked up with interest and joined in with laughter: ”Sister Gao, if even our Chef Fu is only second, who is the top male god of our restaurant?”

Gao Wenjing laughed, ”Of course it’s Chef Yao! Chef Yao is the perennial top male god of our restaurant, although... Mainly because Chef Fu has been with us for a shorter time, just wait a couple of years!”

This had everyone in the kitchen laughing.

Yao Shi added with a smile, ”Looks like in a few years, little Fu is going to leave me in the dust!”

That brought another round of laughter from everyone.

Fu Yu was a bit embarrassed by the laughter, and he quickly slipped away to find Xu Wei for the procurement list.

The intricacies of the kitchen ”waters” are a bit too much!

Fu Yu first went to the front desk, mentioned an error on the takeout order list to Jiang Mo, and waited for Jiang Mo to print a new copy before tucking it away to find Sun Wei.

Jiang Mo saw that Fu Yu wasn’t going back to the kitchen and casually asked, ”Chef Fu, where are you heading?”

Fu Yu: ”Oh, I’m going to find Brother Sun, the inventory numbers in the kitchen don’t match.”

”Huh? You’re looking for Brother Sun? I just saw him go out, probably to buy something on the fly again, you might not find him.”

”By the way, is it Chef Zhao doing the inventory today?”

Fu Yu: ”No, it’s Chef Gu’s turn, he asked me to run an errand.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Mo muttered, ”Chef Gu must really be envious and jealous of your good looks, that’s why he keeps finding ways to make you do his bidding!”

The front desk attendant also nodded in agreement, ”That’s right, Chef Fu, why don’t you just go about your work, and I’ll tell Sun Wei when he returns to head directly to the kitchen.”

Fu Yu: ”...Okay, thank you.”

Jiang Mo and the front desk attendant said in unison with a laugh, ”You’re welcome!”

Jiang Mo sincerely added, ”Chef Fu is always so nice to us, it’s just a small favor, no big deal!”

Fu Yu felt a bit light from all the praise, and when he went back to the kitchen, he walked with a bit of a spring in his step.

...

During holidays, you can see the class of each restaurant and the boss’s networking skills.

Qianlima has only one VIP room 401, specifically for entertaining high-profile leadership groups.

Though the dining time can be staggered, the number of guests is still limited.

Meanwhile, the music restaurant, which adopts a luxurious high-end route, sees fewer low-key leaders willing to visit.

As a result, Shangshi Private Kitchen emerged as a dark horse.

Even though it has been open for less than two months, with the promotion from the main store and other branches, it’s already quite well-known.

Especially due to the unique nature of a private kitchen, its hidden location, good environment, and guaranteed taste, it also has a high-end appeal.

Liu Yunong, on this side, had already started receiving numerous pre-orders early on.

To welcome the Lunar New Year, Shangshi Private Kitchen had the front, side, and back doors all open to greet guests.

This ensures that special guests dining in won’t encounter other guests from entry to dining to departure.

And because of this level of assurance, Shangshi Private Kitchen’s business boomed on the day of the New Year’s Eve.

Many of those coming and going were high-profile leaders and big bosses, names often heard but rarely seen.

Of course, Fu Yu had no chance to witness such a scene.

Fu Yu naturally had no time to observe the scene, and not just him, even Yao Shi stayed honestly in Qianlima’s kitchen without stepping out.

With the head chef and two senior chefs overseeing, all the workers showed great enthusiasm.

However, in between work, they inevitably chatted about various gossip in the restaurant.

Sun Qingning, being the chatterbox, took on the task of preparing ingredients while taking the first round of oil work.

While frying fish pieces, he sighed, ”Sigh, during the holidays, others are enjoying with their families, but we’re here working overtime for this bit of pay.”

Beside him, Zhang Jinyu was focused on adding seasoning, nodded at his words, ”Isn’t that the truth, like Chef Zhao, they have more orders and higher commissions, while we work to the bone for just our basic salary.”

Sun Qingning’s tone was somber: ”Sigh, once you make it permanent, it’s all good in our kitchen. If you can’t become permanent, you’re just a gofer.”

This statement had the two of them sighing together.

Then, with envy, they looked at Fu Yu.

Fu Yu felt helpless under the scorching gaze of these two.

He’s just recently become permanent himself, right?

He definitely needs to aim for the senior chef position before he can truly feel settled.
