The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

It’s just cooking a fish, right? Ordinary chefs definitely can’t do it, but the owner of Shangshi Private Kitchen, she’s a famous chef!

She can definitely do it.

Vice President Wang gestured to his female companion, describing the unique method of the ”live-cooked carp”.

The two chatted while eating, growing more and more expectant.

...

Due to Liu Yunong’s initial failure, several people in the kitchen wore worried looks.

The Liu Family Cuisine has a vast variety, countless signature dishes from ancient times to the present.

Just randomly choose a dish, and it’s a top-tier delicacy.

Wang Yulong, being an experienced veteran chef, was the first to suggest an idea, simply switch the dish.

This ”live-cooked carp”, it seems like it can’t be done.

Although he was older, in culinary skills he was no match for Liu Yunong.

Even Liu Yunong failed in her cooking, there’s no need for him to eagerly join and lose face.

The owner and the head chef said nothing, and the others dared not speak.

Liu Yunong’s thoughts coincided with Wang Yulong’s at this time.

If it can’t be done, then switch the dish.

Since they want fish, serve them a high-class dish, and say a few good words.

This Vice President Wang looks like a vain person, as long as she puts on this posture, his face shines, then there will be no issue.

She thought this would be enough to show her sincerity.

At this time, Fu Yu, who had been standing by observing, noticed a ”?” appear above Liu Yunong’s head.

There’s a task to accept!

Fu Yu chose to check it out.

[NPC Famous Chef Liu Yunong is feeling down due to being unable to complete a customer’s dish. Earningestly communicate with her, and this may trigger a side quest.]

Alright!

To accept the task, communication is needed first.

Fu Yu glanced at Liu Yunong, whose face was composed as he ordered the helper to clean the kitchen station.

He admired her inwardly.

If it weren’t for the system prompt, he really wouldn’t have seen Liu Yunong’s low spirits.

Look at her self-restraint, nothing shows on her face.

With the task at hand, Fu Yu thought for a moment and approached Liu Yunong, volunteering, ”Master, I saw you cooking just now. This ’live-cooked carp’, it’s mainly difficult in one aspect: keeping the fish heart.”

”I’ve actually practiced this before.”

Liu Yunong turned to look at Fu Yu.

Fu Yu spoke boldly, ”When I was in school, there was a course on cooking seafood dishes. Our school had an artificial lake with plenty of fish. For practice, the school would catch fish from the lake for us to work on.”

”At first, I practiced slicing fish every day, which became tedious, so I started making it fun by studying organ anatomy. I’m quite familiar with this task.”

”Why don’t you let me try?”

Liu Yunong looked at Fu Yu with some surprise: ”You want to try?”

Fu Yu nodded, ”I’m quite confident, Master, why don’t you let me give it a shot?”

Liu Yunong looked at Fu Yu and did not immediately refuse.

As a fellow chef, she totally understood what Fu Yu described.

Back then, when she first started practicing disassembling bones, she also studied the structure of poultry every day.

This type of work isn’t like others, talent alone isn’t enough, it requires repeated operation to improve hand speed through experience.

The so-called touch is a cooking experience honed by innumerable repeated attempts.

She herself, because she loved disassembling, mastered a skill back then.

Now hearing Fu Yu say he’s skilled at handling fish organs, Liu Yunong believed him.

Moreover, she was a bit pleasantly surprised.

Anyone else saying this wouldn’t make Liu Yunong so happy.

But this is Fu Yu!

Fu Yu’s disassembly skills match hers, and his touch is particularly good.

If Fu Yu claims he’s skilled, Liu Yunong believes it without hesitation.

Liu Yunong’s eyes brightened, nodding without hesitation, ”Alright, then give it a try.”

[Ding! NPC Famous Chef Liu Yunong’s task: Create a ”live-cooked carp” that satisfies Vice President Wang. Task completion rewards: RMB 200, Cooking Experience +20, Task Experience +20]

Successfully accepting the task, Fu Yu maintained a calm facade.

For him, such meager task rewards were completely trivial.

But realizing this mentality, Fu Yu inadvertently felt a bit startled.

Goodness, am I too arrogant?

This is 200 yuan!

A few months ago, it would have made him overjoyed.

Alas, I’m getting too conceited, it’s not good, everything should be done groundedly.

Fu Yu self-reflected for a moment, listening to Liu Yunong’s insights on cooking the ”live-cooked carp”.

Although it was a failed operation, Liu Yunong summarized a lot of experience.

Fu Yu listened intently, then combined it with the classic old flavor recipes he had browsed earlier. Together they brought new insights into cooking this dish.

Liu Yunong, always decisive and straightforward, since deciding to let Fu Yu try, immediately took action.

The helper, as instructed before, began preparing the ingredients again.

Fu Yu stood in front of the kitchen station, waiting for the ingredients to be brought over to start cooking.

This wasn’t the first time Fu Yu handled cooking independently.

But today’s situation was different from usual.

If it weren’t for the bustling business and the kitchen getting too many orders, both Wang Yulong and Liu Zhangpeng would have gladly put their work aside to watch Fu Yu cook closely.

Though they couldn’t come closer now, their attention was fully here.

Throughout the kitchen, apart from the occasional clashing of utensils during stir-frying and the helper chopping, everyone else was silent, all eyes on Fu Yu, anticipating how he would cook this dish.

A serious, solemn atmosphere permeated.

Even though Liu Yunong didn’t say it, everyone in the kitchen understood.

Even if Vice President Wang assured it didn’t matter what the dish ended up like, customer words couldn’t always be trusted.

If it didn’t turn out well and things got tense, let alone other issues, just the connection with his dad would be enough trouble.

Especially since Liu Yunong herself couldn’t make it successfully.

However, no one said much about Fu Yu’s suggestion to give it a try.

In the kitchen, those assigned to independently oversee a branch’s kitchen were reputable figures from the main branch, or even the core strength of the Shangshi Private Kitchen chain company.

And they all apprenticed at the main branch from a young age, persevering to today.

Only Fu Yu, who came on board midway and was very young.

Yet, no one dared to underestimate or look down on him.

Because in just two months at Shangshi Private Kitchen, Fu Yu repeatedly proved his abilities through actions.

Leaving them speechless.

Both Wang Yulong and Liu Zhangpeng kept their eyes on Fu Yu.

Liu Yunong also stood nearby, watching intently.

Standing in front of the kitchen station, Fu Yu wasn’t exactly nervous, but there was a bit of pressure.

When Liu Yunong was cooking earlier, Fu Yu observed carefully, knowing her technique wasn’t flawed.

The difficulty lay in not being able to open the fish cavity, only operating by feeling it with hands.

Even though he spoke confidently, his actual confidence was lacking.

In the kitchen, it’s common practice to remove and discard fish organs when cooking fresh fish.

Who’s idle enough to study the structure of fish organs?

No one eats them!

Even with perfect touch, claiming there’s no pressure would be impossible for Fu Yu!

However!

No matter the pressure, cooking still needs to proceed normally.

The task was accepted.

yuan, in reality, isn’t a small amount.

Even small insects are meat!

Back when earning 10 yuan for a task would make him ecstatic all day!

Therefore, seizing the moment when Liu Yunong checked on the helper’s ingredient preparation, Fu Yu swiftly reviewed the classic old flavor recipes.

It’s said ”sharpening your tools before a battle can’t hurt”!

Fearful of overlooking a key step and causing cooking failure.

After all, it’s crucial to put heart and effort into whatever you do once you start!
