The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Indeed, regardless of the final outcome, just the entire cooking process alone, Fu Yu did it perfectly!

At this moment, as long as the carp can still move, the dish can be considered completed.

But!

Can it really move?

Everyone unconsciously focused their gaze on the plate, on the carp that had clearly been fried to a crisp.

It’s cooked to this extent, yet it can still be alive?

And Fu Yu saw everyone eagerly waiting to see the final result.

It’s hard not to feel a bit of overwhelming vanity.

That feeling when everyone thinks I can’t do it, but I actually can, is especially satisfying for one’s vanity.

Once the entire fish was cooked, Fu Yu picked up a napkin, rolled it into a ball, dipped it in white wine, and squeezed it into the fish’s gills, instantly causing the fish’s mouth to open and close, and its whole body to twitch.

Everyone was stunned on the spot.

It actually moved.

Even the well-experienced Liu Yunong and Wang Yulong exclaimed in surprise at the rare sight.

They had only heard of this dish before, reputedly cooked so the live fish could still move, making diners marvel at the sight.

But they had never had the chance to witness it personally.

Unexpectedly, today, they really saw it.

This is... so damn amazing.

”Look at the fish’s mouth and the gills! Look...”

”It’s moving, it’s really moving!”

With a shout of surprise, others gathered around as well.

The fried carp that could move caused a commotion in the kitchen.

Everyone gathered to admire this wonder.

On one hand, it’s rare!

They witnessed a famous dish from the legends.

On the other hand, it’s astonishing!

They didn’t expect Fu Yu to actually cook it successfully.

Even Liu Yunong had failed to make this dish!

Everyone clicked their tongues in amazement, and it was Liu Yunong who first snapped back, quickly instructing the service staff to deliver this live-cooked carp to the private room.

And she specifically instructed: ”After delivering the dish, don’t hurry to leave, pay attention to the customer’s reaction.”

The service staff quickly agreed, not daring to delay, and swiftly carried the dish away.

...

Private room 105.

Vice President Wang and his female companion were eating while exchanging affectionate glances.

”How about it? The food here is quite good, isn’t it?”

This table of dishes was carefully selected and ordered with the help of Liu Yunong.

All the dishes were specialties of the restaurant, paired perfectly with balanced meat and vegetables, offering a full range of flavors.

Whether or not money can make the impossible happen, no one knows.

But it has to be admitted that having money indeed allows you to enjoy services and treatment others can’t.

Ever since the two showed their VIP card upon entering, the service staff’s attitude towards them was almost as if they were being worshipped.

Look at this table of dishes, and the wine they served.

The wine clearly looks expensive, at least a few thousand per bottle.

It’s not just Vice President Wang feeling vain; even the female companion feels like she’s benefiting from being with him.

”It’s indeed delicious. I’ve long heard that their food is good. But since it’s a private kitchen and doesn’t operate during the day, I couldn’t find the time until today to come and taste it.”

The female companion sincerely said, ”I’m really benefiting from you today, coming at this hour, having a private room and special service.”

”Especially with being able to bring our own ingredients and have the kitchen cook them, it’s something most people would never manage.”

Vice President Wang was pleased to hear this, proudly saying, ”Of course, even at ordinary restaurants, bringing your own ingredients for the kitchen to cook is rarely allowed, let alone at a private kitchen with strict rules.”

The female companion nodded in agreement: ”Exactly, that’s why I say I’m benefiting from you! You’re amazing! Being with you makes me feel so prestigious!”

Everyone loves compliments, especially when it comes from someone they admire. It makes one happy.

Vice President Wang laughed heartily, feeling that the trip today was truly worthwhile.

In a good mood, one’s appetite naturally increases.

The two dined together, exchanging glasses, enjoying their time together.

When the main dish was served, it surprised everyone!

Vice President Wang was truly from an influential background and had visited many restaurants and hotels, tasted gourmet specialties, and saw unusual dishes.

But he had never seen a truly live-cooked carp dish!

”Oh my! Look at this, the fish’s mouth is still moving!”

The female companion excitedly pointed at the carp on the plate for Vice President Wang to see.

Clearly, the carp looked golden and fried all over, seemingly fully cooked, yet its mouth occasionally opened and closed, and upon closer inspection, the fish tail was still slightly twitching.

It’s so peculiar, so intriguing!

The female companion stared at it for a moment and curiously asked, ”Why is it that when the fish is clearly fully cooked, it can still move? It’s so amazing!”

Vice President Wang, with a seasoned look, smiled and said, ”I’ve heard that during the fish’s preparation, only the body and tail are fried, not the head, to protect the heart. So while the body is fried, the brain and nerves in the head, as well as the heart, aren’t severely damaged.”

Saying this, he picked up a piece of fish with his chopsticks and saw that the fish’s mouth was still opening and closing.

”The heart is fine and still beating, the brain is still functioning, probably allowing the nerves to make the fish’s mouth move.”

The female companion looked impressed: ”You know so much!”

Vice President Wang was delighted with the praise, picking up a piece of fish and placing it on the female companion’s plate: ”Try it. It’s said that this live-cooked carp is actually just a showpiece dish.”

The female companion was puzzled: ”What do you mean?”

Vice President Wang also took a piece of fish: ”The fish meat, upon tasting, feels tender, but in reality, lacks much flavor.”

It’s obvious, in order to keep the fish’s heart and brain from being completely dead, the cooking time had to be short.
