The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

In a moment of desperation, Wang Meng turned his head toward Fu Yu.

What should we do?

”What’s Guaihua Pi Zha?”

At that moment, an old male voice suddenly spoke up; if it weren’t for the different voice, Wang Meng almost thought he had accidentally spoken his thoughts out loud.

He turned his head to look, and it turned out to be Elder Fuxiang who asked the question.

After ordering, Elder Fuxiang seemed noticeably more at ease and patiently said, ”This dish has been around for years. The authentic Guaihua Pi Zha is something that people who’ve never tasted it wouldn’t even know what it’s made of.”

After saying this, Elder Fuxiang looked at Fu Yu and asked, ”Can your restaurant make Guaihua Pi Zha?”

Almost the next second, an electronic notification sounded in Fu Yu’s ear:

[Ding! NPC customer Tang Luzhang’s task: Complete an authentic Guaihua Pi Zha. Task completion reward: Key to the fried cooking skills teaching practice class.]

Fu Yu was secretly flipping through the classic old-taste recipe, reading the cooking method for Guaihua Pi Zha when he unexpectedly received the task and was a bit caught off guard for a moment.

Is today some kind of lucky day?

Just cooking a dish can get you such a generous reward!

This is too much, isn’t it?

Although thinking about it carefully, the system seems to have always been quite generous, but being this lavish today, Fu Yu was a little unaccustomed even as he was pleased.

Is there a catch in this?

However, since the task has come, it’s foolish not to accept it.

Fu Yu chose to accept it and then replied to Elder Fuxiang, ”We can make it, I’ll add this to the menu now for you.”

Hearing this, Elder Fuxiang nodded in satisfaction, ”Alright, then we’ll just wait to taste this authentic delicacy shortly.”

Upon hearing Fu Yu could make it, Wang Meng immediately felt relieved.

As long as the back kitchen is willing to take over, there’s nothing to worry about.

Fu Yu took the order and turned to leave the private room.

Wang Meng followed behind, curiously asking, ”Chef Fu, we don’t have this Guaihua Pi Zha on our menu, do we? Can you make it?”

The task came too suddenly, and Fu Yu hadn’t had a chance to look closely at the specific cooking method for Guaihua Pi Zha.

But with the task already accepted, whether he could make it or not, he had to give it a try to know.

Fu Yu nodded, ”Yes, I can.”

Coming out of the private room, Fu Yu walked towards the kitchen while swiftly flipping through the classic old-taste recipe.

When searching, he looked up the dish Guaihua Pi Zha, but the related content displayed was Qinghe Hall Guaihua Pi Zha.

To be safe, Fu Yu carefully reviewed the introduction regarding this dish.

[Located outside the Temple of Earth, Qinghe Hall is considered one of the most famous restaurants in North City. Its patrons are mostly residents of the Prince’s Mansion in North City, so their stewards are specially trained, well-versed in dealing with various situations. The restaurant’s signature dish is called ’Guaihua Pi Zha’ (pronounced like ’Zha’), which, to put it bluntly, is actually just fried pork skin.]

So, this dish is actually fried pork skin.

Fu Yu couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.

In the past, there really wouldn’t have been any pork skin in the kitchen for this.

But ever since opening the roast zone, there’s the roasted pork skin dish, the restaurant prepares a lot of processed pork skin every day.

As long as there are ingredients, cooking is not a worry.

Before he could read further, Liu Yuqing called Fu Yu as he passed the front desk.

”How is it, everything okay?”

Liu Yuqing was a bit worried.

In a big place, all sorts of things happen.

The restaurant is always bustling with diners coming in every day.

With more people, various situations occur.

Fu Yu nodded, ”Sigh... the two elders had a bit of a conflict over the menu, and in the end, they added two more dishes. What was supposed to be a small affair has turned into a big banquet, it’s losing money.”

Hearing that the situation was resolved, Liu Yuqing relaxed and couldn’t help but glare at Fu Yu, ”And you’re here still nagging, shouldn’t you hurry up and cook!”

Fu Yu smiled and turned to leave.

Knowing Liu Yuqing was concerned about him, Fu Yu didn’t want her to worry.

Besides, cooking just two more dishes isn’t a big deal.

No one is worried!

Including Fu Yu himself didn’t pay it much mind.

With the classic old-taste recipe at hand, he could just follow the procedures and cook.

The back kitchen had seen all sorts of sudden events, and situations like ordering a dish not on the menu occurred occasionally.

Fu Yu quickly returned to the kitchen.

Coincidentally, Zhao Meng was the one handling this order. He had already told a helper to prepare the ingredients, and now everything was all set.

The kitchen staff were resting while having their meals.

At this time, most of the orders had been dealt with.

Zhao Meng had sent the others for their meal and stayed to handle the cooking.

Seeing Fu Yu return, Zhao Meng was a bit surprised, ”Back so soon? Have you eaten yet?”

Fu Yu explained the situation about the customer wanting to add dishes.

Zhao Meng was busy with the wok and didn’t listen carefully.

After Fu Yu finished, Zhao Meng casually instructed, ”This order is a small banquet, six dishes and one soup. I’ve just started cooking, pick some orders and tear them off.”

During afternoon dining times, if Zhao Meng was in the kitchen, he’d typically let his subordinates go eat first.

But similarly, if Fu Yu was around and saw unfinished orders, he’d certainly stay and lend a hand.

Zhao Meng couldn’t chase him away.

They say Zhao Meng favors Fu Yu, but relationships are always mutual. When you’re good to others, they’ll treat you well in return.

...

With no one else around, Fu Yu prepared the ingredients himself.

He glanced at the order slip on the wall and first tore off one for Stewed Silver Carp Head.

This dish isn’t difficult to cook; as long as the fish head is fresh, the seasoning ratio is accurate, and the heat is well controlled, there shouldn’t be any problems.
