Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1598: Chapter 1598: Shareholders’ Meeting (1)

Even if Enna Clark was reluctant to see it, the inevitable was bound to happen.

In the blink of an eye, the day of the Lawrence shareholders’ meeting arrived.

Skye Lawrence still had not backed down before the start of the shareholders’ meeting, so it went ahead as scheduled.

At around 3 to 5 a.m., some media had already camped out at the entrance of Lawrence Headquarters, snagging prime spots. Other journalists arrived by 6 a.m. at the latest, and in less than three hours, Lawrence Headquarters was completely surrounded.

All major TV stations and websites were closely monitoring the progress of the Lawrences, conducting live stream coverage throughout.

The news was everywhere.

At eight-thirty in the morning, luxury cars started to arrive at the scene.

Even though the security personnel had formed a human wall keeping the swarming journalists at bay, the cars still couldn’t drive through.

Each shareholder had to instruct their driver to park outside the company and walk in.

The less than 30-meter distance became incredibly difficult to traverse, the flashes from either side making it seem no different than a star walking the red carpet.

“Miss Avril, do you favor Young Master Lawrence or Ms. Lawrence? Do you have a preferred candidate in mind?”

“Sorry, I’m not taking interviews.”

“President Anderson, what are your thoughts on today’s shareholders’ meeting? Who do you think will be the ultimate winner?”

“…Sorry, no comment.”

“Please share your thoughts. There are rumors that this shareholders’ meeting is quite unfavorable for Young Master Lawrence. Ms. Lawrence has met with several shareholders in private, were you among them?”

The man besieged by a barrage of cameras kept his smile but signaled with his eyes to his assistant, who promptly shielded him, “I’m sorry, our Director is not taking interviews. We have no comment regarding the questions asked. As for the final outcome… Our Director hopes it will be one that benefits the conglomerate! Beyond that, our Director has no opinion to share and will not issue any statements!”

A result that benefits the conglomerate…

Such a slippery answer was never going to satisfy the reporters, and predictably, they were not pleased with the response and continued to press with questions.

Every shareholder passing through the company doors had to endure a similar barrage of questioning.

But there were hardly any shareholders who genuinely commented.

If they weren’t turning down interviews with a cold face, they were having their assistants handle the situation, but nobody was foolish enough to talk to the reporters.

The shareholders’ meeting began at nine.

At eight forty-five, a silver Maybach stopped at the company entrance.

Once the journalists saw the license plate, they flocked over—

“Ms. Lawrence!”

“Vice President!”

Indeed, the chauffeur was the first to get out of the car, followed by Skye Lawrence, who was meticulously dressed and appeared before everyone.

She was dressed in an Armani teal blue dress suit today, exuding an air of a sophisticated and powerful businesswoman. Coupled with her delicately beautiful face and striking red lips, her appearance immediately subdued the flashes in the crowd.

The flashes went off wildly at her, and the journalists were so busy taking photos that they forgot to ask questions.

After snapping a few pictures, a reporter quickly blocked her way, thrusting a microphone forward as they pressed, “Ms. Lawrence, the shareholders’ meeting is about to start, and Young Master Lawrence hasn’t arrived yet. Arriving ahead of time, are you feeling confident about today?”

All the journalists had little hope that she would answer, but to their surprise, she looked directly at the journalist who asked the question and spoke with dignified calmness, “Of course!”
