Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: Skye Lawrence calls

His lips were soft, and when they met, there was a sensation like an electric shock. Enna Clark hadn’t had time to react before the back of her head and waist were seized, leaving her no opportunity to dodge. He deepened the kiss, plunging straight in.

When the kiss finally ended after much difficulty, Enna Clark was panting and leaning on him.

Baron Lawrence, in a very good mood, let her go and took her hand, saying, “Let’s go, back home.”

On the way back to the company, his mood remained very good, so much so that Enna Clark noticed it.

Seeing that he was finally not so tightly wound, the anxiety that Enna Clark had been holding onto also relaxed.

Indeed, taking him out for a walk was the right move; otherwise, who could stand that constant nerve-wracking tension? No matter how capable and talented Baron Lawrence was, he was still human, not a robot. Everybody needs to rest at some point.

No sooner had they set foot in the company than Scott Harris rushed over.

“Lord, Miss Clark.”

“Have you eaten dinner, Mr. Harris? I brought some food back for you.” Enna Clark lifted the bag in her hand, which she had just bought at the mall, filled with bread, drinks, and ready-to-eat meals.

Scott Harris hadn’t expected her to bring food back for him and busily expressed his gratitude, “I haven’t had dinner yet, thank you, Miss Clark.”

“No need to thank me, it’s no bother. I didn’t know what kind of bread you like, so I just picked two types. One has meat floss, and the other is jam,” Enna Clark said with a smile, noticing that Scott Harris had something to say to Baron Lawrence. She took the initiative and said, “I’ll go up and heat up the ready-to-eat meal for you.”

With that, she walked toward the elevator.

A ding sounded as she entered the elevator first.

Scott Harris was sincerely grateful to her. After the elevator doors closed, he then said to Baron Lawrence, “Lord, Ms. Skye has called.”

The previously good mood of Baron Lawrence instantly clouded over, his face expressionless as he asked, “What does she want, calling here?”

“This… Ms. Skye didn’t say. She just first asked if you were in and, upon hearing you had gone out, told me to let you know to call her back when you returned,” replied Scott Harris, pausing for a moment before continuing.

“Also, President Lawrence felt unwell just now and has been taken to the hospital.”

Nicholas Lawrence, because of Skye Lawrence’s issues, hadn’t rested day and night, and with various setbacks, nearly fainted halfway through a meeting with the public relations department. He had no choice but to have his assistant accompany him to the hospital.

Baron Lawrence’s face couldn’t be described as merely unpleasant now, his thin lips pressed into a tight line as he suppressed his anger and asked, “Is Second Uncle alright?”

Worry shining in his eyes, Scott Harris answered, “The assistant just called to say that President Lawrence has been put on an IV drip. The doctor said it’s due to lack of sleep causing a severe decline in physical condition. There’s no significant issue; he just needs to rest, and he will be fine.”

But now with the Vice President down, all the burdens had fallen onto Lord’s shoulders alone. The Lord was not a robot either, and he hadn’t rested for almost a full day. He was concerned whether the Lord’s body could withstand it.

At that moment, Scott Harris was heartily thankful to Miss Clark for firmly pulling the Lord out for a walk just earlier.

“It’s a relief he’s alright,” Baron Lawrence’s tense jaw relaxed slightly as he walked towards the elevator, meanwhile asking Scott Harris about the company’s situation.

When they reached the 66th floor, he commanded in a decisive and swift manner, “Tell the public relations department to prepare. I will continue the meeting that the Vice President couldn’t finish in five minutes.”

“Okay, I will go inform them right away,” Scott Harris hurried away, not even reminding Baron Lawrence that Skye Lawrence had asked for a return call.

No matter what reasons Miss Skye had for doing so, this time it was too much.

Way too much.
