Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1559: Chapter 1559: Announcing the Engagement

Skye Lawrence stared at the large screen for a very long time, seeing Baron Lawrence answer the journalists’ sharp questions with ease, and also seeing — Enna Clark sitting next to Baron Lawrence!

She took a deep breath, her complexion not looking too good.

“While the Lawrence Corporation was holding the press conference, the official statement was also released, which not only denounced the false financial reporting about the Lawrence Corporation but also directly named several major portal websites for allowing the release of fake news without verification, sending a lawyer’s letter to each one and even posting the lawyer’s letter online and tagging the parties concerned. In addition to that, the entertainment media under the Lawrence Corporation also began to broadcast this news widely. Now the share prices of the Lawrence Corporation have stopped plummeting, and after the press conference is over, another round of public relations, the shares are expected to start recovering,” said the man in the driver’s seat with a trace of a smile on his lips, though his voice was coldly curving, “Heh. Young Master Lawrence is indeed Young Master Lawrence, when he does make a move, it’s with the force of a thunderbolt.”

Had Baron Lawrence simply held a press conference, the outcome might not have been so effective, but Baron Lawrence’s approach was direct and forceful, not sending lawyer’s letters to the social media accounts or media outlets who published the news, but directly to the major portal websites.

A warning to the others! Pulled the rug from under their feet!

Although such a method was too assertive and tyrannical! Yet, it had to be said that this was the fastest and most effective approach!

Skye Lawrence shifted her gaze away from the large screen, her pretty and resolute face showed a faint expression as she said, “He’s been a genius since he was a child.”

Baron Lawrence had been a genius since childhood, not only exhibiting extraordinary talent in business but also displaying unusual military talent.

However, he seemed to have no particular interest in anything until Enna Clark appeared.

Skye Lawrence took a deep breath and turned to ask him, “Have you arranged the thing that I asked you to do?”

Oscar, with a smile, said in a teasing tone, “Could I possibly not have arranged it well when Ms. Lawrence asked me to do it?”

Skye Lawrence furrowed her brows.

Oscar’s smile had faded, now much more serious, “Rest assured, I have arranged everything and can announce it at any moment. But think it over, once it’s announced to the public that we’re engaged, it can’t be changed.”

After he said this, a flicker of hesitation crossed Skye Lawrence’s beautiful eyes.

As she hesitated, she raised her head to look out the car window at the large screen just as the close-up shot zoomed out again, capturing Enna Clark once more.

The last bit of hesitation in her heart vanished, her lips pressed tightly together, she said, “Announce it as soon as possible.”

She understood Baron Lawrence.

“Alright, I’ll tell him right away,” Oscar agreed swiftly.

Skye Lawrence still looked up, eyes fixed on the person on the large screen, with an indescribable complexity in her eyes.

…

An hour later, the press conference ended successfully.

Being under so many camera flashes left a layer of sweat on Enna Clark’s back, but what was most uncomfortable was the palm of her hand.

The man sitting next to her held her hand from the beginning to the end, not even allowing her to move. Holding on until her palm was sweaty without letting go, making Enna Clark want to ask him if he truly had mysophobia. Her palm was so sweaty and yet he didn’t let go.

From their departure from the stage to actually leaving the venue, the camera flashes followed them all the way.

Only when the door closed behind them were they finally shielded from the camera flashes that seemed almost hot enough to scorch them.
