Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1561: Chapter 1561: Baron Lawrence Encounters a Crisis

Baron Lawrence was very busy!

Ever since he returned from Spirelin City, he’d been going nonstop, first holding a press conference, and then meeting after meeting, yet the situation of the Lawrence Family business remained far from optimistic.

Because of the two major announcements suddenly made by Skye Lawrence, the Lawrence Family’s stock price, which had finally hit the limit down, began to fall again. If it continued to drop, it would hit rock bottom and trading would be suspended.

Once trading was halted, the losses would be beyond measurable in mere hundreds of millions or billions.

A low pressure hung over the entire Lawrence Family, with everyone worrying about the future of the conglomerate.

Whispers were already circulating within the company that the President was at a disadvantage, completely overshadowed by the First Young Lady, and if the shareholders’ meeting was convened, the Lawrence Family might see a change of tides.

Enna Clark was also in the company. When she went to get coffee, she happened to overhear gossip in the break room.

“Do you think the President will… be finished this time?”

“He shouldn’t be, I guess.”

“But the Vice President is really amazing. Look, right after President Lawrence holds a press conference, the Vice President immediately has a counter-strategy. It seems that compared to the Vice President, the President lacks experience. After all, the Vice President has been with the company all along, while President Lawrence was previously in the Military District. The business world is different from the battlefield.”

“I don’t know, I only care about the company’s situation. If the company collapses, I’ll be the one who suffers, all these years of effort will have been in vain.”

This statement struck a chord with everyone. For the average employee, it didn’t matter who the President was.

But if the company went under, they would have to look for new jobs, and all those years of striving would definitely be wasted.

With high salaries and good benefits at the Lawrence Family, where could they find similar conditions if they started over?

“… It looks like the stock is still falling; I also have some of our company’s stock in my hands, I’m thinking whether I should sell it now. Otherwise, if the company goes bankrupt, won’t the losses be even greater?”

Enna Clark gripped her cup tightly and could bear it no longer, pushed the door, and went in. Catching the attention of everyone in the break room, she spoke slowly and emphatically, “The company won’t be doomed! I believe in President Lawrence!”

She believed in Baron Lawrence.

Even if the current situation was dire, she still believed in Baron Lawrence!

As for the stock market, she would throw in all the money she and Rhine had if necessary, just to help maintain the Lawrence Family’s stock price!

Bobby was also trading stocks.

Her expression remained calm as she spoke, not a feigned calmness, but one that stemmed from genuine belief.

The few people in the break room went from being surprised at her entry to feeling awkward about having been caught gossiping about the company. Luckily, someone reacted quickly and, pretending as if nothing had happened, greeted her, “Secretary Clark, are you here for coffee too? Will you have Blue Mountain or Mocha? Let me get it for you.”

“No need, I’ll get it myself.”

Enna Clark made two cups of coffee, and as she passed by them to leave, she reiterated with forceful clarity.

“I believe the company will be fine!”

Having said that, she headed straight out, regardless of what the others in the break room thought.

When she left the break room, Enna Clark felt a weight on her heart. She exhaled deeply and carried the coffee towards the President’s office.

The outside was already lit with early night lights, but Baron Lawrence’s office was still a pitch-black space, with only the faint light of a laptop flickering.

Enna Clark reflexively turned on the lights of the office, and with a click, the dark office was suddenly bright—

She caught sight of the man sitting at his desk, deeply engrossed in his work.
