Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1543: Chapter 1543: A Woman More Important Than Life Itself

Baron Lawrence watched her walk away, his gaze following her silhouette as it disappeared on the beach. He stood quietly on the sand for a while, observing the ocean’s tides rising and falling with the dusk, his thin lips slowly forming a straight line…

Scott Harris had been waiting behind him the whole time, looking at his lonely figure, not daring to say a word or disturb him.

Only when Baron Lawrence turned around did Scott step forward, handing over the phone and said in a low voice, “Lord, there’s a call for you.”

Baron Lawrence’s hawk-like eyes suddenly chilled as he took the phone from Scott, stepped aside, and returned the call.

By the time he came back after the call, Scott could clearly feel that his mood had worsened.

Scott, concerned, said, “Lord, has Ms. Skye done something?”

He hadn’t wanted to ask this. As the housekeeper, it wasn’t his place to pry into matters the Lord didn’t speak of. But he truly didn’t want to see the Lord looking so irritable.

“It’s nothing.” Baron Lawrence indeed did not want to speak of it, not the time to discuss it yet; his lips thinned as he asked, “What time is it?”

Scott glanced at his watch and reported the precise time.

Baron Lawrence narrowed his eyes slightly, “Let’s go, let’s head back.”

“Yes.”

…

When they arrived back at the villa, Enna Clark hadn’t finished preparing the Tomato and Egg Noodles.

Baron Lawrence waited for nearly 15 minutes before the steaming Tomato and Egg Noodles were served. Enna placed the dish in front of him, her eyes curving into a smile as she handed him the chopsticks, “Go on, give it a try. I added extra tomatoes.”

Baron Lawrence liked the sweet and sour taste.

Indeed, the normally stoic man took the chopsticks and after a taste, his brows softened.

Enna noticed his bad mood but didn’t say much; she sat quietly beside him, watching him eat.

It had to be said, Baron Lawrence was really handsome. Even though it was obvious he was in a bad mood, his brows furrowed, but even in such a state, with a terrible complexion, a simple bowl of Tomato and Egg Noodles still seemed to exude an aristocratic air as he ate.

He wasn’t someone who ate at a leisurely pace; he ate quickly but without making it seem like he was devouring his food.

In a blink, the Tomato and Egg Noodles were gone.

Enna rose immediately, “Let me get you a glass of water.”

She had just stood up when her wrist was suddenly grabbed, “No need!”

He didn’t want water right now!

Before leaving the house, he had decided: after eating the Tomato and Egg Noodles, he would have her!

The touch on her wrist was smooth and tender.

Baron Lawrence sharply sensed a subtle change in his body.

His eyes darkened.

A wave of irritation surged within his chest.

Damn it!

He hadn’t even made a move, and merely the thought was almost enough to make him lose control! When had his self-control become so poor? On further thought, it seemed that since he saw this woman at the airport, his self-control had never been the same!

One glance had imprinted her in his memory, and after that, he was eager to find her. Even after realizing she was the gold-digging, scheming woman from his past impressions, he still couldn’t help but feel attracted…

Shit! Skye Lawrence didn’t understand that Enna Clark wasn’t just a woman to him; her name was etched into his middle back, more important than his own life!

His eyes shifted, the heat in his lower abdomen became irresistible, and without giving Enna a chance to speak, he swiftly swept her into his arms and carried her horizontally into the bedroom—

“Baron Lawrence, what are you doing?” Enna was suddenly in mid-air, instinctively wrapping her arms around his neck.

The domineering man was blunt, responding with one word, “You!”
