Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1505: Chapter 1505: The pain made her bite her lips until they bled

Baron Lawrence suddenly turned her head around and, upon seeing the visitor, furrowed her brows firmly before relaxing into her usual poised and elegant demeanor, asking lightly, “Oscar, what brings you here?”

Who told him she was at the Hospital?

The man called Oscar was none other than the one Baron Lawrence had seen in the restaurant the last time.

He walked straight toward Skye Lawrence, his mixed-race deep blue eyes darkening imperceptibly when they landed on her pale face, but his expression remained unchanged. Once he was in front of her, he stopped and said gently, “I called your driver to see if you made it home. He beat around the bush and wouldn’t say, so I had someone check your driving record and found the Hospital.”

He downplayed the fact that he had looked into someone else’s driving records as if it wasn’t worth mentioning.

This was strikingly different from the spring breeze-like British gentleman charm he exhibited on the outside.

Skye seemed used to his discrepancy, merely frowning slightly.

The tall and handsome man then noticed her unnaturally hanging left hand, pursed his thin lips, and asked, “What happened to your hand?”

Skye withdrew her hand a little before replying, “It’s nothing, just a little accident.”

Oscar was neither foolish nor blind.

The injury on her wrist was clearly inflicted by someone else, and it couldn’t have been this severe had it been merely an accident.

But since Skye was unwilling to discuss it, he didn’t press further. Instead, he turned to the doctor, looking poised but asserting firmly, “I heard something outside about anesthesia requiring the presence of a relative. Her relative is here now, please see to her treatment.”

Overwhelmed by his commanding presence, the doctor immediately got up and said, “Of course, I’ll prepare right away. Just a moment, please.”

Soon after, a Nurse from the duty desk came in with a tray in her hands, which held syringes and drugs. Upon entering, she swiftly stole a glance at the tall, upright man before turning to the uniquely charming Skye Lawrence, instantly feeling defeated. She placed the tray aside, took the Disinfectant alcohol, and told Skye, “Sorry for the wait, the doctor is preparing the disinfectant. I’ll give you the anesthesia injection now, please raise your left hand.”

Skye raised her left hand.

Her arm was pale and shapely, quite attractive, but her palm was unnaturally drooping, a sight that suggested pain.

The nurse asked softly, “Ms. Lawrence, are you allergic to any antibiotics?”

“I’m not.”

“That’s good, then I’ll proceed with the local anesthesia.” After disinfecting the area, the nurse injected the anesthetic into her arm.

Shortly after, the effect of the anesthesia set in, and Skye clearly felt the sharp pain in her left wrist lessen significantly, while her entire left arm began to numb and lose sensation.

The nurse removed the needle and packed away the materials.

At that moment, a doctor with disinfected gloves came out and asked the nurse, “Is the patient anesthetized?”

“All done, doctor.”

Approaching Skye, the doctor said, “Ms. Lawrence, please stand up for a moment. I’ll set your bone. It might hurt a bit during the process, so please try to bear with it.”

As he spoke, he lifted her left hand and suddenly exclaimed, “Oh, is that a squirrel outside?”

As soon as those words were out, he exerted force on his hand.

The person who had been silently enduring the pain suddenly let out a muffled groan, her complexion turning so pale it was nearly translucent, and her lips even bled from biting down…
