Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1510: Chapter 1510: For me, your sleep is more important than anything else!

“Because Lord has suddenly come across some work matters, he sent me to take care of you. Ms. Clark, would you like to get up?”

Enna Clark’s entire body was sore, but she felt too embarrassed to keep lying in bed. She nodded and peeled back the covers, “I’ll get up myself.”

As beautiful as the thought was, she realized just how sore her muscles were once she started moving.

If her reflexes hadn’t been quick to support herself on the edge of the bed, she would have embarrassingly collapsed to the floor with weak legs the moment her feet touched the ground.

“Ms. Clark, are you alright?” The maid noticed her struggle and quickly asked.

Enna Clark steadied herself against the bed for a moment, caught her breath, and exhaled, “I’m fine.”

She slowly let go of the bed, and although her calves were still very sore, she had gradually gotten used to it. She picked up her coat, draped it over her shoulders, and walked out.

As soon as she walked out the door, she ran into Scott Harris.

Scott Harris was still dressed in his customary tailcoat, directing the servants in setting the tableware. Upon seeing her come out, he immediately greeted her respectfully, “Miss Clark, good morning.”

“Good morning, Mr. Harris.” Enna Clark felt a bit embarrassed about being seen by Scott Harris in her current state.

Noticing her discomfort, Scott Harris pulled out a chair at the dining table and said, “It’s already twelve o’clock, Ms. Clark, please wait a moment, I’ll go call the Baron for breakfast.”

“That…”

Before Enna Clark could stop him, he had already run into the study.

Shortly after, the haughty and proud man came out from the study. He seemed very busy, walking while instructing something into his Bluetooth headset with a furrowed brow and a serious face, markedly different from usual.

By the time he reached the dining table, Scott Harris had pulled out a chair for him. After sitting down, he spoke impatiently, “Alright, whatever it is, tell me in an hour, deal with it as I’ve instructed for now!”

After finishing, he authoritatively removed the Bluetooth headset from his ear and tossed it aside.

Looking up at Enna Clark, he said, “Let’s eat.”

Saying so, he began to dine with a straight posture.

The simple Western food was consumed with the air of an aristocrat; his every move and gesture were as standard and pictorial as a work of art.

Enna Clark glanced at him and quietly lowered her head, silently beginning to eat…

Fifteen minutes later, Baron Lawrence had already set down his knife and fork and wiped the corner of his mouth, saying, “I’m done eating; you take your time.”

Enna Clark immediately put down her knife and fork and asked, “Baron Lawrence, has something happened?”

Why was he suddenly so busy?

And looking at his aura, too rigid, too serious, it was as if he had encountered some troubling matter.

She felt that something was not quite right.

“What’s the matter?” The domineering man seemed to notice her concern and quickly said, “You’re overthinking it. It’s just that the Old Man is in the hospital, and there are some issues to handle, that’s all.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes!” Baron Lawrence suddenly shifted the topic, “By the way, while you were sleeping, Olivia Lewis called you.”

Enna Clark’s attention was indeed diverted, “Olivia called me? What’s the matter?”

“She didn’t say, but it sounded like something urgent,” Baron Lawrence slightly relaxed his tense features as he spoke.

“Then why didn’t you wake me?” Enna Clark didn’t know what else to say, frustratedly speaking.

No sooner had her words fallen, than the domineering man furrowed his brow, shot her a sudden stare, and matter-of-factly said, “Why should I wake you? To me, you sleeping is more important than any of her matters!”
