Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1540: Chapter 1540: He’s Going Out for a While

Enna Clark watched as Adam Sinclair’s car stopped in front of Olivia’s villa, and he went in through the gate before she turned to go back.

She had just returned when she unexpectedly encountered the person from the study, who had just finished his work, and they bumped into each other.

“Enna Clark, come here.”

His complexion didn’t look very good, his eyebrows were fiercely furrowed together, as if he was trying to kill a fly with the force.

His eyes hid an unmistakable irritation.

Although Enna Clark didn’t know what was wrong, she still went over to him.

Before she even got close, his large hand reached out and pulled her towards him, “Are you a snail? Even snails are faster than you!”

Enna Clark’s ears were almost deaf from his shouting, and she hadn’t yet spoken out of frustration.

The previously irritable man suddenly lowered his head, bending over to block her burgeoning rebuttal, and went straight for the conquest!

“Mmph.”

His kiss was so sudden that Enna Clark was completely unprepared; after a moment of stunned silence, the domineering man raised his head, furrowed his brows, and asked displeasedly, “Enna Clark, have you been drinking?”

“I had a little red wine with Olivia…”

Before she could finish her sentence, the rest of her words were swallowed by him, an overpowering kiss that nearly took her breath away.

Finally, Baron Lawrence let go, and she managed to breathe in fresh air, gasping heavily.

Her cheeks were flushed as she panted, while the man’s dark hawkish eyes darkened further.

Damn it!

Because of that kiss, his lower abdomen was still tense, and now she dared to entice him further!

Baron Lawrence gripped her hand tightly, and Enna Clark could clearly feel the strength on her wrist; she instinctively raised her head, her clear eyes questioning the man in front of her.

This wasn’t right.

She still felt something was off.

Baron Lawrence’s reactions had been too strange these past few days.

It seemed like he was dealing with some vexing issues.

Could it be that what Bobby had said was true, and their company was indeed in trouble? But she had checked the Lawrence Family’s finance reports and hadn’t found any problems.

Just as Enna Clark was considering whether to ask him again, the man with the darkly clouded eyes finally pushed down the sensations in his lower abdomen, rolled his Adam’s apple, and hoarsely said, “I need to step out for a bit, I’ll be back in the evening.”

He paused, then added another sentence, “Tonight I want to eat the tomato and egg noodles you make!” And you…

The last three words went unsaid, but his gaze on Enna Clark was full of possessiveness.

It just so happened that Enna Clark wanted to make a call to Bobby to ask about the situation, so she agreed very readily, “Alright. Send me a message when you’re close to coming back, and I’ll start making it so you can eat when you return.”

Noodles wouldn’t taste good if they sat too long, Enna Clark mused, adding, “Just tell me ten minutes in advance.”

Any longer, and the noodles would become mushy.

Her tone was even and peaceful, her voice soft and casual, and for some reason, Baron Lawrence’s irritable mood was instantly soothed, no longer as agitated as before.

He narrowed his eyes, then clasped the back of Enna Clark’s head, sealing her lips with a passionate kiss before releasing the warm and tender beauty in his arms, raspily saying, “Wait for my return.”

Enna Clark felt an indescribable sensation growing inside her; she nodded her head.

Baron Lawrence turned and instructed Scott Harris to prepare the car.

He was always decisive and acted quickly; saying he would go out, he left in less than five minutes. Enna Clark waited for his departure before furrowing her brows and pursing her lips, feeling something wasn’t right no matter how she thought about it. She returned to her room and pulled up the financial statements Hayes had given her to review…
