Chapter 1127: Chapter 1127: It’s Best to Get Married Within This Year Chapter 1127: Chapter 1127: It’s Best to Get Married Within This Year Lawrence Ancestral Home.

Old Master Lawrence was having a drink with Nicholas while Skye sat nearby, occasionally easing the atmosphere with talk of things seen and heard in Linton City.

At that moment, a servant rushed in, hurriedly whispered something to the housekeeper.

The housekeeper’s brows furrowed, he glanced towards Old Master Lawrence, seemingly hesitating whether to speak. Soon enough, he made up his mind, went over to the stern old man, bent down and whispered something in his ear. Old Master Lawrence’s authoritative and somber face suddenly darkened, and the atmosphere in the parlor turned rigid!

Skye sat on the opposite couch and vaguely heard words like ‘Ms. Clark’ and ‘banquet’, but she could not clearly make out what the housekeeper was saying.

After the housekeeper had spoken, he respectfully stepped back.

Old Master Lawrence, who had been leisurely sipping his tea, suddenly stood up and instructed flatly, “Nicholas, come upstairs with me.”

“Yes,” Nicholas stood up, turned his head to Skye and said, “Wait for me here for a moment, we’ll leave together.”

“Okay.”

Skye watched the two of them go upstairs.

Her beautiful eyes showed thoughtfulness as she sat down.

Just then, the housekeeper noticed the Old Master’s dragon-head cane was left behind, and he was about to bring it upstairs.

It was then that Skye stood up and took the initiative to say, “Did Grandpa forget to take it? Let me help bring it to him, I also forgot to report something to him.”

In her attempts to mediate the tension between her dad and the Old Master earlier, she had forgotten to report on the financial status of the subsidiary she was managing.

As it happened, she was preparing to restructure the assets of one company and needed to ask Old Master Lawrence’s opinion.

Seeing her offer so readily, the housekeeper found it difficult to refuse, handed her the cane and said, “Thank you, Miss Skye.”

Skye replied with a smile, taking the cane, “No trouble at all.”

“I’ll go up then.”

“All right.”

Carrying Old Master Lawrence’s cane, Skye went upstairs.

The second floor was full of bodyguards who, recognizing her, did not stop her.

Skye passed through the opulent corridor and was just about to knock on Old Master Lawrence’s door.

That’s when she overheard a conversation from inside.

“Skye is not getting any younger, when do you plan to let her get married?”

“I have someone in mind for her, planning to let them meet first.” It was her dad’s voice.

Skye had not expected Old Master Lawrence to call her dad upstairs to discuss her matters, and while she felt surprised and favored, she pursed her red lips.

Just as she was about to push the door open, she heard Old Master Lawrence’s voice, “Arrange for them to meet as soon as possible. If both parties have no objections, it’s best they marry within the year.”

“Why the rush?”

“I have my reasons. You just do as I say!”

Nicholas seemed displeased with the arrangement, his voice raised a bit, “Dad, I want Skye’s marriage to be out of love, not for the family! So, I will respect her opinion. If she thinks the guy is suitable and wants to marry him, then so be it. If she doesn’t think he’s the right one, then forget it.”

“I’m not discussing with you! This is an order!” Old Master Lawrence’s attitude was extremely rigid, “Either do as I say, or I will send her to Country S, and I won’t allow her back for ten years! Those are the only options, make your choice!”
