Alchemy Master

Chapter 76, Evil Spirit

“A Dark Wolf?” Seeing the shadowy beast that appeared before him, Qin Yichen could not help but frown.

Dark Wolves were Low Level Demonic Beasts that lived on the outskirts of the Black Demon Mountain Range. Even an adult Dark Wolf would at most be considered a Peak Level 1 Demonic Beast.

However, what surprised Qin Yichen was that judging from the aura emanating from this Dark Wolf, it had actually reached Level 2!

This was somewhat abnormal.

Seeing this Dark Wolf with blood-red eyes, and a body exuding a fierce aura, the three young Martial Masters hiding at the back immediately turned pale. Their calm and proud demeanour from atop the cliff had completely disappeared.

They had been pampered since birth, typical greenhouse flowers. When had they ever seen such a ferocious Demonic Beast? If it was for Miss Lu being here, they would never have come to a place like the Black Demon Mountain Range.

As for the other two Martial Grandmasters, there was no fear in their eyes. They also recognized this beast as a Dark Wolf. Although they did not know why this Dark Wolf was different from those seen in the Black Demon Mountain Range, and it had even advanced to become a Level 2 Demonic Beast, they did not take this Dark Wolf seriously.

“Miss Lu, be careful, Dark Wolves usually live in packs. I’m afraid this one isn’t alone.” One of them said softly to Miss Lu, but he showed no intention of helping Qin Yichen.

In his view, Qin Yichen was just cannon fodder. If he died, it would be exactly as they wished.

As for these two who showed no intention of helping, a hint of disgust flashed in the depths of Miss Lu’s beautiful eyes. However, she did not say anything. In fact, she wanted to see if this young man, who seemed somewhat extraordinary, truly had some real skills.

*Awooo!* A red light flashed in the Dark Wolf’s eyes, and in the next instant, it roared and leaped up like a black arrow, pouncing towards Qin Yichen in front.

Before its shadow arrived, a nauseating stench had already hit them.

“Ah…” Seeing that Qin Yichen was still standing there motionless, and it looked like he was about to have his head bitten off by the Dark Wolf, the three youths could not help but scream. They had almost lost control of their bodily functions out of fear.

*Hmph!* Just as the Dark Wolf was about to pounce on him, Qin Yichen let out a cold snort. His right foot moved. His body suddenly sidestepped, passing by the Dark Wolf.

*Swish!* As Qin Yichen and the Dark Wolf passed by each other, a cold glint flashed from his hand, followed by the sound of skin being cut.

*Awoooo!* When the Dark Wolf landed, its abdomen had already been slashed open with a horrific wound.

However, strangely, no blood seeped out from this huge wound!

“Oh?” The dagger slashed into the Dark Wolf’s body, but it lacked the feeling of piercing into a solid body. This surprised Qin Yichen.

Looking at the Dark Wolf again, he found that although the Dark Wolf was not bleeding, its body had become even more illusory. Faintly, through its body, one could see the floor of the corridor behind it.

“Could this be… an Evil Spirit?” Looking at the illusory Dark Wolf, Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Evil Spirits were a peculiar species. All things have Souls, but after death, their Spiritual Energy would dissipate into Heaven and Earth. However, it was different under this Black Wood Cliff. This place was sealed, and the Demonic Beasts or people who fell down could not dissipate their Souls after death. After lying dormant for ages, they became… Evil Spirits.

What made Qin Yichen breathe a sigh of relief was that this was the outskirts of the Black Demon Mountain Range. The Demonic Beasts that fell down here should not be too high level. If this ruin was located in the inner areas, he would have to consider retreating first and coming back when he had enough strength.

“What kind of ghost is that?” The group behind him did not have time to marvel at his skills before they were startled by the strangeness of the Dark Wolf.

Including the two Martial Grandmasters, even with their experience, where had they ever seen such a strange thing before? At that moment, they all felt creeped out.

*Awooo!* The Dark Wolf’s abdomen had been stabbed, but it seemed to feel no pain. After standing still, it pounced towards Qin Yichen again.

Knowing this was an Evil Spirit, Qin Yichen i put away his dagger instead. Stand, Walk, Leap, Fall – he directly stomped on the Dark Wolf’s head with one foot…

There was no bloody scene. At the moment the head exploded, the Dark Wolf’s body shattered with a boom, turning into wisps of black smoke without even leaving a carcass behind.

“What… what was that thing?” After seeing Qin Yichen deal with that strange Dark Wolf, the three Martial Masters asked, somewhat shaken.

“It should be… an Evil Spirit.” Miss Lu muttered, looking at the dissipating black smoke.

After hearing the words ‘Evil Spirit’, the five youths who followed her all changed their expressions.

There were some records about Evil Spirits. They had no consciousness, and were wandering around like lost  Souls. However, they would attack any living creature that approached, fighting to the death.

They really had not expected that on their first outing, they would encounter Evil Spirits.

Their luck was really too good.

While they were still processing the shock brought on by the Evil Spirit, Miss Lu turned her gaze towards Qin Yichen, whose expression had not changed.

That clean and neat strike really surprised her, and she felt that Qin Yichen seemed to know the weakness of Evil Spirits, as he was able to defeat that Dark Wolf in one hit.

This kind of knowledge, this kind of skill, and his mysterious background filled Miss Lu’s heart with curiosity.

How could someone who knew the weakness of Evil Spirits have a simple background!?

However, just because she looked at Qin Yichen a couple more times, the two Martial Grandmasters beside her looked at Qin Yichen with even more hostility.

Originally, they were already very dissatisfied with Qin Yichen’s confidence, and now, this guy actually managed to make the person they admired look at him a few more times. This was something they could never tolerate!

Others might not be clear about this woman’s identity, but they were very clear.

People who could catch her eye were rare. Like those three richly dressed youths behind them, Miss Lu had no intention of paying them any attention at all.

Who did this guy think he was?

He was just a Martial Master, yet he dared to try to attract Miss Lu’s attention? This made them directly sentence Qin Yichen to death in their hearts.

The two exchanged a knowing glance and nodded.

It seems like they needed to find an opportunity to get rid of this eyesore!

Qin Yichen was unaware of their plans. He just pressed his palm against the ground, feeling the flow of the Spirit Devouring Array.
