Alchemy Master

Chapter 53, Soul Eroding Water

“This is quite serious…” Looking at the old man, who had almost one foot in the grave, Qin Yichen said in a low voice. He originally thought that the Old Master of the Lin Family had about a year left to live, and the situation should not be too bad. He did not expect him to be in such a critical state.

If it was not for the Old Master of the Lin Family’s lifetime of cultivation supporting him, any other person would have died long ago.

“If you don’t have the ability, then get out!” An Elder spoke up, coldly scolding him without leaving any room for courtesy.

They had seen too many Alchemy Masters say such things. So, they directly treated Qin Yichen as incompetent and told him to leave.

“Shut up!” Surprisingly, this time, Hei Gui rebuked him. Under the stunned gazes of the four Elders, he anxiously asked, “How is it, is there a way to save him?”

Hearing his rather polite words, the four Elders were stunned again.

It should be known that usually, Hei Gui would be the first to lose patience. Almost every Alchemy Master who came, once they said something discouraging, they would be scolded by him and directly driven away.

Qin Yichen ignored them and lifted the Old Master of the Lin Family’s eyelids to take a look. He took out a thin silver needle, pricked the Old Master of the Lin Family’s hand, and sniffed it. After a moment, he calmly said, “It’s okay, he can still be saved.”

“Can still be saved!?” The four Elders immediately stood up, their eyes filled with disbelief.

After so many years, even Alchemy Masters invited from the Royal City had shook his head and left. This was the first time they had heard these amazing words.

“Really!?” Hei Gui was even more excited, immediately grabbing onto Qin Yichen’s hands.

“Stop! Let go of me first!” Being grabbed like this, Qin Yichen felt his hands almost break. He grimaced and cursed.

“I was too rash, sorry…” Hei Gui hurriedly let go, seeming somewhat flustered. He did not know where to put his hands.

*Hmph!* Qin Yichen snorted, then explained, “These are the symptoms of Soul Eroding Water.”

“Soul Eroding Water?” All five looked at him with blank faces, obviously never having heard of it.

“This is a type of poison. But, it shouldn’t exist in the Heavenly Unicorn Dynasty.” Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed slightly, then he continued, “This poison is colourless and odourless. Those who are poisoned won’t show any abnormalities for three days, but after three days, they will be eroded by the toxicity of the Soul Eroding Water. First, they become lethargic, then fall into a coma all day. During the coma, the Soul Eroding Water will also erode the victim’s body. In no more than a year, the victim will die from their body decaying!”

Saying this, Qin Yichen glanced at the four Elders, who were obviously tired, and said, “The reason why the Old Master of the Lin Family has been able to live until today is because the four of you have been continuously providing Yuan Energy to him for over ten years, right?”

Just by observing the complexion and pricking with a small needle, he had correctly described the Old Master of the Lin Family’s symptoms and what they had done for countermeasures.

“That’s right, at first, Brother Lin just felt without energy all day, but later, he would fall into comas from time to time. During this period, we would use many Energy Revitalisation Pills, but they could at most only temporarily wake Brother Lin up. A few days later, the same symptoms appeared again…” Hei Gui was extremely excited, with tears in his eyes. He never thought that Lin Aotian, who had been missing for many years, would find someone who could treat Lin Huarong.

“This Little Brother… no, Master, this Master, is there a way to save him?” The Elder who had scolded him earlier, now spoke. However, due to how rude he was, his face was full of shame. He awkwardly rubbed his hands, feeling very embarrassed as he spoke to Qin Yichen.

If he had offended this Master because of his actions, he would regret it for his whole life.

“Of course I have a way, but whether he can fully recover, I can’t say for sure. After all, too many years have passed.” Qin Yichen said with a solemn expression. Seeing the five people’s expressions change again, he continued, “Even with your Yuan Energy sustaining him, the Old Master of the Lin Family’s body can’t last much longer. Once his body starts to decay, even if he’s saved, he probably won’t be able to practise Martial Arts anymore… But, I have to warn all of you first. If we want to cure this poison, there’s still certain risks involved… Do you want to let him die under the torment of this poison, or will you let me take the risk to try and save him? The choice is yours.”

After he explained the pros and cons, the five people in the room looked at each other, falling into silence.

Save him? Or not to save him?

It was a difficult choice.

However, for these four Elders, they all sensed that although the Old Master was barely holding on with their Yuan Energy nourishment, his body was still deteriorating day by day. Especially recently, the Old Master’s breath was getting weaker and weaker. They feared that it was as the black-robed man had said. He was about to start decaying.

After the four Elders exchanged glances, they all looked at Hei Gui.

Although their status in the Lin Family was very high, they were, after all, just old servants by Lin Huarong’s side. Hei Gui, however, was his Sworn Brother. He has a life-and-death friendship with Lin Huarong.

“Since Little Brother is confident, then I entrust this to you!” After pondering for a while, Hei Gui gritted his teeth, then bowed to Qin Yichen, paying his respect.

“Little Brother?” The four Elders were stunned when they heard how he addressed this black-robed man. When Qin Yichen came to the bedside and lifted his bamboo hat, they saw a face that could only be described as young and delicate. Their eyes immediately revealed a trace of shock.

Originally, hearing his voice, they could tell this black-robed person was far from old, but they did not expect him to be so young!

A teenager of just over ten years old, could he really have a way to cure this strange poison in the Old Master’s body?

They could not help but doubt it.

However, seeing that Hei Gui did not say anything, they did not speak up either.

As for their doubts, Qin Yichen did not explain further. He directly took Lin Huarong’s withered right hand, and then a strand of Spiritual Energy penetrated into the back of his withered hand.

As this strand of Spiritual Energy entered, Lin Huarong, who was originally not moving, suddenly trembling.

Qin Yichen controlled this strand of Spiritual Energy, quickly entering the meridians in his arm.

Using Spiritual Energy to perceive, the condition inside Lin Huarong’s body appeared in Qin Yichen’s mind.

Looking at the almost completely withered meridians, Qin Yichen could not help but frown.

The depth of Lin Huarong’s poisoning had somewhat exceeded his expectations. The meridians in his body had almost turned completely black. After so many years, even with the Yuan Energy nourishment from four Martial Grandmasters, and the assistance of various medicines, it had only temporarily slowed down the erosion of the Soul Eroding Water. It could not stop it.

The black spots on Lin Huarong’s skin had come from this. The areas with these black spots were often the deeply eroded areas. If it worsened, it would start to decay.

[It seems impossible to expel all the poison at once. We can only choose to clear out a part of it first. We can let him regain consciousness, and then slowly treat him with medicine.] Qin Yichen sighed in his heart, and his Spiritual Energy followed Lin Huarong’s arm meridians into his main meridian.
